Nice retreat!
We went to visit my family in NY for Thanksgiving and greatly enjoyed this property. The remote wooded setting was nice and I appreciated the rustic approach inside. It was cool so we didn't make use of the outdoor amenities but the deck and yard would be great in warmer weather. The house had several areas to congregate and chat. Very well appointed kitchen (had we been inclined to make more use of it) is connected to a dining and living room area. I actually liked that this area did not have a TV, which made it nice for dining and conversing without electronic competition. The game room was a great place to hang and chat. Two TVs allowed for a little background entertainment. The pool table, dart board, and selection of board games really drove the community feeling and we used them a lot. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable and there were spare linens and towels for both. I missed having local channels on the TVs (they had numerous) streaming service available) until I realized I could broadcast to them from my phone using my home cable subscription. Problem solved!There are wood stoves we did not make use of. The building heat was very comfortable and we didn't want to deal with the mess. But they're there if that's your jam. One point I'd share for general information - There are, as the host notes clearly, stairs. There are stairs to the front porch, stairs up the front porch, stairs to the master suite, and a couple steps to the game room. Bear this in mind for anyone staying or visiting. Unfortunately, my partner strained her ACL the day before we left to visit so it made things a little more challenging but that's on us, not the property.
