I was surprised they don’t have street lights. The local restaurants are not what we expected. The food most often subpar & we aren’t picky. The condo was very clean. The microwave did have a strong smell of maple syrup. The patio chairs had giant tags that should have been removed. There was some tile outside the patio door and a miter board left on the porch. You cannot attempt to use the keypad until precisely 4:00. We tried at 3:58 & we thought we had the wrong code. That information should come with your guide. They have a regular coffee maker which should have been listed, so we didn’t have to make a trip to the store. We had a rental & always included beach chairs.

Captiva's "dark sky" approach means we lack street lights to protect our local wildlife and maintain the island's natural charm, though we understand it can be a surprise for first-time visitors.
