Welcome to Little Gum 🍃

The Space:
The studio features a queen bedroom with block-out blinds and a sofa bed in the living area that folds out to a double. A cot, high chair, and baby essentials are available on request.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, stove, washing machine, barista-style coffee and pod machine. To make your stay extra comfortable, we provide fresh eggs from our chickens, milk, bread, and continental breakfast supplies, so you can ease into your mornings without needing to rush out.

A Quiet Couples’ Retreat & Relaxed Solo Stay:
Little Gum is perfectly suited to couples seeking a romantic, peaceful break, solo travellers visiting for work or leisure, or families wanting a calm, nature-filled getaway. With no traffic noise, fresh country air, and uninterrupted views, it’s a place to truly switch off.

Couples love the cosy queen bed, slow mornings with coffee on the doorstep, sunset walks up the hill, and quiet evenings with a record playing and a glass of Barossa wine. Solo travellers appreciate the calm environment, practical layout, and homely touches — ideal for unwinding after a workday or exploring the region at your own pace.

Nature, Animals & Outdoor Space:
Surrounded by bushland, the property is home to three horses, including our friendly Shetland pony Cookie, who loves a pat. Alpacas live next door, and along the road you may spot sheep, goats, kangaroos, koalas, and kookaburras. We also have a very friendly golden retriever, Maple, who loves everyone — but if you’re not keen on dogs, just let us know.

Guests enjoy peaceful walks along the quiet main road, with minimal traffic. A longer 30-minute walk to the top of the hill rewards you with stunning sunset views and a real sense of immersion in the landscape.

Family-Friendly Touches:
Little Gum is welcoming for families, with an outdoor swing set, slide, kids’ boat for imaginative play, and a sandpit. If staying with children, we’re also happy to provide a box of toys and a creative activity box for drawing, colouring, and making. Baby essentials can be arranged on request.

Arrival & Orientation:
As you enter the front gate, Little Gum is the first building you will see. The barn is visible from the end of the driveway, adding to the country charm.

Access is via a lockbox, with the code sent on the day of arrival along with contact details for myself and my husband, Tom. While the studio is completely private, we are easily contactable by phone if needed. Our home is located at the top of the hill, allowing guests to enjoy peace and privacy while knowing help is close by.

Location:
Little Gum is conveniently located:

I had the most relaxing break here that I think I've ever experienced. Everything in the accommodation was perfect, and all the little extra touches just made me feel so welcome. Breakfast supplied (and you can go and visit the hens!), no traffic noise.... just birdsong in the mornings and the occasional horse noises.Peace and quiet and comfort. What else could you ask for on a break?

About the host

Hosted by Ashleigh Lott

Host profile image
Hi, I’m Ash! My husband Tom and I have just finished bringing Little Gum to life — a project fuelled by equal parts love, coffee, and “just one more trip to Bunnings.”

Tom and I actually met while travelling (he was my Topdeck bus driver!), and we’ve spent years exploring the world and staying in quirky, cosy, and beautifully unique places. Ever since then, I’ve dreamed of creating a little haven of our own for others to enjoy.

Little Gum is that dream come true. We’ve poured our hearts into every detail, and we hope you feel the same warmth and joy staying here as we do. Make yourself at home and enjoy your getaway.

Why they chose this property

What guests love most about staying here is the sense of calm and escape the moment they arrive. The studio is surrounded by beautiful trees, and the quiet is something truly rare. No traffic, no city noise, just nature. Even the drive in feels like part of the experience: a long, winding country road that most people have never heard of, yet looks like it belongs on a postcard.

At night, the sky is incredible. With no light pollution, the stars are bright and clear, creating the perfect backdrop for a peaceful evening.

Wildlife is a huge part of the charm. Our resident magpie, Steve, has been visiting us for years with his friends, and our pony Cookie absolutely loves greeting new guests. Our Golden Retriever Maple is great for the self-esteem—every person she meets is the absolute highlight of her day. A simple walk down the main road often turns into a mini wildlife tour. Alpacas, horses, goats, sheep, and sometimes even koalas, deer, or kangaroos. At the top of the hill, groups of kangaroos often gather, so relaxed around people that they just pause and watch you wander by. It’s a moment guests always remember.

For families, we have an outdoor playground, a kids’ boat for imaginative play, and a sandpit for little ones. We can also provide a box of toys to keep them entertained. Inside, there’s plenty to enjoy too: DVDs, board games, colouring-in, and even a record player for a cozy night in. WiFi is available, alongside streaming services on the smart TV (Stan, Netflix, Disney).

What makes this property unique

This area offers a genuine country escape-peaceful, scenic, full of character and wildlife, while still being close enough to enjoy everything the region has to offer. It’s the perfect place to slow down, unwind, and experience something truly unique.
