As a Taranaki local I love this out-of-the-way part of our beautiful country. The arts are amazing here which inspire me as a designer. I remember when the coffee was instant and the beer was Taranaki Bitter. Now our city leads the world in coffee roasting, craft beers and gin distilling.
I love hiking & skiing on Mount Taranaki; the bush, oceans and wild beaches. The galleries and the vibe. The world hasn't fully discovered it yet and I like it that way.

Why they chose this property

The small township of Waitara is often 3-4 degrees warmer than New Plymouth and is a gardener's paradise. The beaches and river mouth are wonderful for a dip in summer. The mountain is not far away for hiking or skiing. Fishing, rowing and golf are very popular.

What makes this property unique

There is such a calm feeling when entering this place, it's like time almost stops. The native birds love living here and sing their hearts out all day long.
