The kind of place where you actually manage to slow down — ideal for nature lovers, birdwatchers, or anyone who's been meaning to properly switch off for a while.
The main house sleeps six and is flooded with natural light from large, north-facing windows overlooking the dam. The adjacent tiny home sleeps two and has its own bathroom and kitchen, making it ideal for larger groups needing a little extra space.
The spectacular Sandy Point surf beach an easy 12-minute walk or 4-minute bike ride away. Shallow Inlet, renowned for fishing is a 5-minute car ride away.
Guest access Guests have access to both the main house and the Tiny Home. Access to the following areas are not permitted: ~ Back paddock as it is often stocked with cattle ~ Shed and surrounding area ~ Dam - no swimming in the dam as it is home to abundant bird and wildlife including snakes (children/dogs should be under complete supervision at all times on the property) ~ Secondary Waste Water Drain Field at the back (Southern side) of the main house. Do not drive or park cars on this field
Other things to note SUPPLIES ~ Full linen & towel service is provided ~ Firewood available for purchase at $10 per bag (seasonal outside fire restriction dates) ~ Outdoor games, ie Finska, boules, badminton, volleyball, croquet, etc ~ Beach equipment available, ie beach shelters, chairs, surfboard, etc ~ Board games are stored under bench seating in dining area ~ High chairs, portable cots and baby washing tub are available if requested ~ Basic pantry items supplied - oil, salt, pepper, tea/coffee, sugar, milk ~ Biodegradable toiletries supplied - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc
OFF-GRID SPECIFICS This is an off-grid home, so a few things to keep in mind: Power — The property runs entirely on solar and battery power. Please be mindful of high-draw appliances such as hairdryers and fan heaters to avoid depleting the battery. There is no dishwasher, TV or air conditioning in the main house. Water — The property relies solely on tank water, so please keep showers short to conserve supply. Tiny Home Compost Toilet — A compost toilet system is installed in the tiny home only — instructions for use are displayed in the bathroom.
IMPORTANT NOTES/RULES ~ Dogs are to be under control at all times as this is a farming area, particularly around the dam - no swimming ~ Dogs are not to jump up or sleep on the bed or furniture. A dog bed can be supplied on request ~ Please use supplied toilet paper - no wipes, nappies, or other rubbish to be put in toilet ~ Please use the supplied toiletries which are biodegradable and compatible with our waste system ~ No firewood to be cut or collected from the farm paddocks or tree belts ~ The portable fire pit must not be moved from it's current position on the non-combustable pebbles ~ The fire must be attended to at all times and must be fully extinguished at bedtime or when not present ~ Use of the outdoor firepit is entirely at the guest’s own risk. By using it, guests acknowledge and accept that the Far South Paddock Tiny Home assumes no responsibility or liability for any injuries, damages, or accidents resulting from use ~ No unregistered guests or campers permitted ~ Guests will be charged for the repair or replacement of any items that are missing, stolen, or damaged during their stay. ~ Additional cleaning fees may apply if the property requires excessive cleaning beyond the standard post-stay clean.
In addition this property is set in a rural environment, therefore always be snake aware. Do not venture into areas of long grass or the dam - we can take no responsibility or liability for any injuries or accidents if you venture in these areas.
This property has exterior security cameras at the shed and driveway for insurance purposes. There are no internal cameras at this property.
