We needed a place to stay for a wedding, so we decided to try our first Vrbo. We absolutely loved it and hope to return soon when we have more down time to enjoy the cabin. The waterfall was awesome! We loved discovering Buck Mountain!

We liked everything about this property and our stay there!
We absolutely loved this cabin in the woods! It reminded us of home, being that we're from the country. I do want to say that the drive up the mountain is very windy with steep drop offs. Be sure to follow the posted speed limit at all times. But the cabin and location are so worth it! The screened in front porch was our oasis every chance we got. The leaves were in fully so the distant view was hindered, but the peace and tranquility was amazing. Definitely recommend this cabin, especially if you're looking to get away from it all.
It was really easy to access the house and there was a really great write up as far as what was expected and how to perform the actions. I was initially hoping for a snowy winter vacation but after I arrived I was grateful it wasn't snowy or icy because the driveway was steep.
We enjoyed our stay here while visiting family in the area. The location is quiet and secluded. This is a simple but very clean and comfortable cabin, just what we wanted.
The house was perfect for our short vacation. It was close enough to Boone and other attractions
We really enjoyed the cabin and the comfort of the beds. The couch was a bit old but enough space for our family. We wanted to be far enough out of town but accessible to nearby attractions so this place was great!
We had a great weekend in Purlear. The cabin was very clean and simple, just what we needed. The surrounding Buck Mountain community is also very nice. Easy drive to Wilkesboro and Boone.
Cabin was clean and private
Loved the water fall and Community Pond
We traveled to Boone, West Jefferson and
Wilkesboro for food and fun.
Check out Ashe Cheese Factory in West Jefferson. We enjoyed our stay at Buck Mountain
God was so good to give us a wonderful week with great weather.
My husband wanted a weekend fishing trip and I agreed to accompany him, but with the understanding that I may hang at the cabin and read!
This place was perfect! Better than the pictures and had everything we needed for a low key weekend. Buck Mountain is a beautiful community with lots of privacy as well as trails!
The cabin was perfect for our family of 5, was clean and close to Boone. Make sure you don't use the street address to find the cabin we got lost trying to follow gps instructions but at least we saw a lot of deers. Use the buck mountain gated community address,😉
We absolutely love this cabin. This is our second time staying here. The location is perfect. It is halfway between Boone and Wilksboro, so convenient to everything yet you can sit in peace on the back porch and watch the deer. The owners are super responsive. We requested a mirror after our last stay and showed up to a beautiful new mirror for this stay. Super accommodating!! The cabin itself is a perfect cabin in the woods. It is cozy with everything you need. We will definitely be back.
The cabin is completely refurbished- super clean and comfortable. We bbq'd steaks for a delicious dinner one night and also found the cabin equipped with everything we could possibly need. We loved walking the trails- nature at its best even without the spring/summer greenery. Theresa is a helpful and accommodating host. She even had anniversary balloons greeting us when we entered the cabin!
We highly recommend Theresa and her darling cabin.

Had a good and relaxing stay + it's on the way to moms. We love the mountains .
The cabin was all clean and neat and easy to find, I enjoyed every thing except we went to the pond and my wife and grandson out fished me, oh well maybe I'll gettem next time ,lol
Super clean cabin with all you need for a great stay. Screened in porch with a great view that allows you to take in your surroundings. Kitchen has all you need to make meals with a kitchen table. Livingroom & bedrooms are nice size with closets for storage. Bathroom was again super clean with towels provided. You're up the mountain but not far from shopping & stores. We stayed there for the Nascar All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro -- it's approx 30min from track but straight shot and opposite way of most people leaving. Overall 10/10 would recommend.
Having to cut short our previous stay due to the 2022 Winter Bomb Cyclone we were anxious to get back to this wonderful cabin.
Our Host, Theresa, was amazing in allowing us to vacate our previous stay early dur to the weather conditions and even more amazing in our return visit.
The cabin has a deep warmth that is felt not only in the cabin itself but moreso in the hearts of Theresa and John.
The cleanliness of the cabin and well stocked accommodations are outstanding only exceeded by the view offered from the front porch.
Excellent.
