Our stay was wonderful. Very clean with all the amenities. Plenty of towels, blankets, kitchen items, seating and open feel. Host was welcoming. Highly recommend.
Perfect place to stay if you are skiing purgatory! Every bedroom has its own bathroom. Everything is brand new and gorgeous, the pictures do not do it justice!! Will definitely stay here for another ski trip
The house was very nice and had everything a person could need. My family and I had a great stay and would consider staying again for our next Durango trip.
Incredible accommodations and location. This home was exactly the quiet retreat described and desired. Great for enjoying nature, walking/hiking and nearby food choices did not disappoint either. Thanks to the host!
The house and location are beautiful , very easy access to purgatory ski resort , takes a while to get to town , but that is worth the sacrifice for the location, all the windows in the house allow you to see it snowing and just see all the beauty .It was perfect for a snowy Christmas vacation !!
We loved staying in this beautiful mountain home that backs up to the owner’s private property. It’s so quiet and gives you the feeling of seclusion even though you’re only minutes away from the slopes. The wood burning fireplace is also amazing! We love everything about this house and definitely recommend it!
This home was well-built, modern, and well appointed. It sits in a beautiful area, with excellent hiking nearby. The drive to Silverton and Ouray is spectacular. A lovely place and well worth staying there.
Sean's home is even more incredible than the photos let on! This is by far one of the best vacation rentals my husband and I have ever stayed at. No details are spared - from the ultra-comfortable bed to the well-outfitted kitchen, Sean's home will not disappoint!
This is my second time staying at this property, and it’s just as great as I remembered. I brought my family this time and they all loved it! Beautiful home in and awesome location for hiking and driving the million dollar highway.
Modern, fresh, and extremely clean and well maintained property. Perfect location for our ski trip at Purgatory. Extra large garage with direct access made loading/unloading a breeze. Kids enjoyed the large yard/open space; parents enjoyed have kids on separate level of the cabin. Thanks for letting us enjoy your property!
Beautiful place stocked with everything you need plus some! The garage was convenient in the snowy weather. The cabin feels secluded, but is only a short drive to Purgatory.
Great stay in Durango. The house was very clean, private, and had all the amenities we needed during our short stay. Love the openness, large windows, and front and back seating areas to take in nature views. Sean was readily available and checked on us to ensure the heat was functioning. Wish we would have stayed longer so we definitely recommend this home.
The cabin itself would be reason enough to come back. Durango and the Purgatory resort area were great too. The cabin was clean, well designed and very practical and an awesome location. Loved having a garage large enough to fit (2) F150 pickups, especially in December. Amazing how warm the cabin is in the winter. Would rent from Sean again for sure
We had an amazing three weeks at the house. Our third time coming and absolutely love the location. We were able to venture out to Telluride, Silverton, Durango while being close to “base”. Sean does an excellent job of communicating and the property is top notch. Clean, very well equipped and perfect for our needs. See you next year Sean and truly appreciate the stay.

About the host
Hosted by Sean McCormack
Sean grew up in the area, skiing every weekend at Purgatory, and graduating from Durango High School before leaving to experience life outside this rural community. After 25 years, he and Leslie decided to move back to the mountains of Southwest Colorado to be close to family and all of the outdoor activities they enjoy.
Why they chose this property
This area is the Saudi Arabia of solar energy, with plenty of water and lots of trees. It is easy to build a comfortable and highly sustainable life here. Sean also owns the 132 acres to the north. All of the houses (including this one), barns, and greenhouses were built using wood harvested from the property. The 27' x 110' greenhouse provides fruits and vegetables not only for Sean and Leslie, but for a number of other families in the area. Standing dead trees are harvested and provide a backup heat source for all the homes and buildings, with an additional 120 cords of wood harvested for sale, providing a carbon neutral source of heat. The trees are harvested primarily to improve the health of the forest.
What makes this property unique
There is nothing better than cozying up to a real wood fire after a full day of skiing, watching the snow fall during the winter, or lounging on the covered deck and watching the sun disappear over the mountains during the summer. The kids will have a great time exploring the forest, fishing in the nearby creeks or lake, biking, horseback riding or the many other activities close by.
