Our stay was very disappointing from the moment we arrived. The cleanliness of the unit was far below expectations. The tile floors were visibly dirty and appeared not to have been mopped, while the carpets throughout the condo were old, stained, and unclean. I even attempted to vacuum them myself, only to discover that the vacuum did not work. In several areas, the carpet was pulling away from the walls and beginning to rip. The outdoor patio carpeting was also filthy and torn.We found hair and dead sand gnats in the beds, hair in the shower, and hair in the bathroom sink. On the bathroom cabinet next to the toilet paper roll was a brown crusted stain that appeared to be dried blood or feces, which I ultimately cleaned myself.Customer service was equally frustrating. We attempted to visit both on-site lobbies only to discover that neither was staffed. We then called the after-hours number and remained on hold without ever reaching anyone. The following day, my husband contacted the office and was simply asked if we wanted housekeeping service. When he explained that we could not return to the unit at that time, no alternative solution was offered, and no one ever followed up with us.We visit Myrtle Beach every year and have never experienced anything like this. This was our first time booking through Luxury Beach Rentals and it will be our last. We also plan to contact the Southwind Resort Board regarding the condition of the unit.
