About the host
Hosted by Alvi
I love travel, road trips, and discovering new communities — which is why hosting is such a joy for me. I work for the City of Vancouver, and outside of work I’m usually boating, playing ice hockey or soccer, bike riding, or tinkering on house projects with music playing.
I have 2 wonderful kids, so I understand how important comfort, safety, and easy access are when you travel. We drive a lot for sports and family trips, so having a good EV for the city and road trips is important to us. I also enjoy learning about different cultures and supporting local businesses wherever we go.
My goal is simple: for you to feel welcome, relaxed, and at home here.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because it’s beautiful, quiet, and full of community. It’s a growing area with diverse families and businesses, but it still feels peaceful compared to the bustle of Downtown Vancouver.
We’re close to shopping and parks, and it’s an easy drive downtown, but far enough away to actually unwind. It’s the kind of place where people walk their dogs, chat with neighbors, and enjoy a slower pace. For us, it’s the perfect balance of convenience and calm — and I hope you feel that too during your stay.
What makes this property unique
This home was designed to fit the neighborhood and be a place people enjoy walking by. A few years ago a neighbor asked, “What are you going to do with your yard?” That question started everything.
I built a cozy gazebo that’s perfect for coffee in the morning or music at night, and added a stone retaining wall that became an instant eye-catcher. The landscaping and small details all came from wanting to improve not just our home, but the whole street.
It’s not flashy — it’s thoughtful, welcoming, and a little bit special. I hope it makes your stay feel that way too.
