To help protect the property, respect our neighbours and ensure a safe experience for everyone, we kindly ask that all guests review the following information before booking.
This property is a licensed short-term rental and is located in a peaceful cottage community where guests can enjoy nature, stunning sunsets, and the tranquility of the Haliburton Highlands. We ask that all guests be respectful of neighbouring properties and observe quiet hours beginning at 10:30 PM. Outdoor activities and gatherings should be moved indoors after this time. Excessive noise, parties, events, bachelor or bachelorette parties, unauthorized gatherings, or any behaviour that disturbs neighbours may result in immediate termination of the reservation without refund.
Only registered guests included on the reservation are permitted on the property unless prior approval has been received. Additional guests may be subject to additional fees.

This property operates on a private septic system. To avoid costly repairs and service interruptions, please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Items such as wipes (including flushable wipes), paper towels, feminine hygiene products, diapers, cotton swabs, dental floss, food waste, grease, oils, or any foreign objects should never be flushed or disposed of through household drains. Guests may be held responsible for damages resulting from misuse of the septic system.

The waterfront, dock, hot tub, barrel sauna, fire pit, canoe, kayaks, and all outdoor amenities are provided for guest enjoyment; however, their use is entirely at the guest's own risk. By booking this property, guests acknowledge that swimming, boating, paddling, dock use, hot tub use, sauna use, fire pit use, and other outdoor recreational activities carry inherent risks. The property owners, management company, and co-hosts cannot be held liable for accidents, injuries, illness, loss, theft, damage to personal belongings, or incidents occurring during your stay. Children must be supervised at all times, particularly around the waterfront, dock, hot tub, sauna, and fire pit areas. Life jackets are provided and strongly recommended whenever using the canoe or kayaks.

Please do not park on the grass or any landscaped areas of the property. The septic bed is located beneath designated sections of the lawn and can be damaged by vehicle traffic. Septic system repairs can cost thousands of dollars, and guests may be held responsible for any damage resulting from parking in restricted areas. Please use the driveway and designated parking areas only.

We kindly ask that all water equipment, including canoes, kayaks, paddles, and life jackets, be returned to their designated storage locations before checkout. Watercraft should never be left floating in the lake overnight or unattended in the water.

To help guests settle in comfortably, we provide a starter supply of essentials including toilet paper, paper towel, garbage bags, dish soap, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and other basic amenities. For longer stays, replenishing consumable supplies becomes the responsibility of the guest.

For the safety and security of guests and the property, exterior security cameras are installed at the front and rear of the cottage. One camera monitors the driveway and front entrance area, while the other monitors the exterior backyard. Cameras record video only and there are absolutely no cameras located inside the cottage or in any private indoor spaces.

Garbage and recycling collection is provided through a third-party service. If your stay includes a Wednesday, please ensure vehicles are not parked in a manner that blocks access to the collection bin located near the driveway, as it is serviced weekly.

Most importantly, we ask that guests treat the cottage with the same care and respect they would their own home. This property has been thoughtfully prepared for your stay, and we want every guest to enjoy a safe, relaxing, and memorable lakefront experience.

By completing your reservation, you acknowledge and agree to abide by all property rules and safety requirements.

We’re Kartika and Saran, a husband-and-wife team behind The Maple Stays. We love exploring Ontario’s beautiful lakes, trails, and small towns, and we’re passionate about creating memorable stays for our guests. Hosting allows us to share the places we love while helping visitors relax, reconnect, and enjoy everything cottage country has to offer.

Why they chose this property

One of the things we love most about this area is how it captures the true essence of cottage country. Located in beautiful Algonquin Highlands, this neighborhood offers a peaceful escape from the noise and rush of everyday life while still providing convenient access to local amenities and attractions. Surrounded by forests, lakes, and abundant wildlife, it's the perfect destination for guests looking to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature.

The area is known for its stunning scenery throughout all four seasons. In the summer, guests can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, and evenings around the fire pit under a sky full of stars. Fall brings vibrant autumn colours that transform the landscape into a breathtaking display, while winter offers opportunities for snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and cozy nights indoors. Spring is equally beautiful as the lakes and forests come back to life.

We also love how close the property is to local attractions, including charming small towns, restaurants, golf courses, artisan shops, and outdoor recreation areas. Whether you're looking for adventure or simply a quiet place to unwind with family and friends, this neighborhood offers the best of both worlds. It's a place where memories are made, mornings are peaceful, and every season brings something special to experience.

What makes this property unique

What truly sets this property apart is its rare combination of waterfront living, a private hot tub, and a lakeside barrel sauna creating the perfect year-round retreat. Whether you're soaking in the hot tub under the stars, unwinding in the sauna after a day on the water, or enjoying a peaceful morning coffee overlooking the lake, every part of the property is designed to help guests relax and reconnect.

The cottage offers direct lake access for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing, while the spacious outdoor areas provide plenty of room to gather with family and friends. Evenings can be spent around the fire pit sharing stories, watching spectacular sunsets, and enjoying the tranquility of cottage country.

Inside, guests will find comfortable accommodations, inviting living spaces, and large windows that showcase beautiful lake views throughout the year. The property is equally enjoyable in every season from summer days on the dock to cozy winter weekends featuring the hot tub, sauna, and snowy landscapes.

Combining modern comforts with the beauty of nature, this property offers an experience that goes beyond a typical cottage stay. It's a place to slow down, recharge, and create unforgettable memories in one of Ontario's most beautiful destinations.
