This beautiful home has it all. While it's not gulf front, the walk is brief and you still have excellent views. The pool, hot tub and other amenities provide all the features for a wonderful beach vacation.

Baron By the Sea is in a lovely community with easy access to a very quiet section of the beach. We love the proximity to the pool and this home comes with a private hot tub and lovely patio with firepit. The screened porch and other features make this home a great place to unwind and discover Cape San Blas!

Joe, thanks for the feedback, but with every point you've made here you validate our adherence to policies, the quality of the home and our exceptional customer service. You signed a rental contract (and initialed adjacent to this clause) stating that refunds would not be extended for mandatory evacuations unless travel insurance was purchased. You declined the insurance and we made an exception for all of our guests, refunding the two nights of mandatory evacuation. You're welcome. We were fortunate and the hurricane completely missed us. There was not a blade of grass out of line in this area post Hurricane Helene. As you stated, you "chose" not to return after the mandatory evacuation. Most of our other guests returned to enjoy the balance of their stay. VRBO's policy is does protect you for things like mandatory evacuations. However, it does not extend refunds to guests that "choose" not to stay after booking a home. We understand the inconvenience of leaving and returning during a stay and that's why we extended the refunds for two nights. We did not rate you, Joe. There is not an option for a host to leave a "zero" rating for a guest (although, you seem to have earned it!). We "chose" not to rate you as we did not have anything nice to say. Again, you are welcome. If you travel to our amazing area again during hurricane season, we recommend you purchase travel insurance!

Sandy, so sorry you were unable to enjoy your visit. I appreciate you taking my call to discuss this feedback. After speaking with you it was clear your experience stemmed primarily from the fact that your daughter was not a good houseguest. Gosh, that one is certainly out of our control! We work hard to provide accurate descriptions of the home's layout and amenities on our site. We double checked and everything is spot on so, we appreciate the apology, but clearly this review is going to need some explaining! You are correct that the queen bed is not a king size bed (it is advertised as a queen). The beach is ~265 steps from this home and the boardwalk has a very gradual incline over a beautiful, natural and protected dune structure. Kayaks are very easily transported to the beach via the boardwalk, we have guests that do it every week! This is a very natural landscape and if you wander into the areas that are not maintained, it's possible you will find some less than ideal conditions for walking barefoot so let's not disparage the lovely landscaping. Also, we appreciate your comments about construction, but as discussed this was very minimal and did not impact your experience for more than a couple hours one day. "Spring breakers" are some of our favorite guests (as long as they meet our minimum age requirements) as the Cape is an awesome destination in March and April! Again, thank you for helping us highlight how amazing this home is. I'm sure anyone reading this will understand how stressful the holidays can be for some people especially when spending it with family. The next time you decide to spend Thanksgiving at the beach we urge you to consider two homes... one for you and the other for the rest of your family!
