About this property

Casita del Lago ("cottage by the lake") has lake-access with a gorgeous view of the lake! This charming cottage is 65 yards from renowned Clarklake, a 580-acre all-sports lake. Docking space is available if you'd like to rent watercraft (Eagle Point Marina is on Clarklake, and Rob's Rentals is on Devil's Lake and delivers) A public boat launch is available if you'd prefer to bring your own watercraft (please let us know in advance for either option.)

Casita del Lago is quite the endearing little charmer! The airy openness and vibrant decor provide for a very inviting atmosphere. Open floor plan, high ceiling and a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a coffee/tea station.

The dining table seats four, with additional seating for two at the breakfast bar.

A queen size sleeper sofa in the living room provides additional sleeping space, as well as a convertible sleeper chair (better suited for our younger guests.) There is a smart TV for all your streaming needs, as well as complimentary WIFI.

One bedroom with a queen bed, tv, spacious closet, nightstands and a dresser (guests rave about our mattress!)

1.5 bathrooms (with a walk-in shower and spacious vanity.) We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a hair dryer.

Small laundry area with a full-size washer and dryer, iron and ironing board.

Private large backyard with fire pit, deck, patio table, swing, grill and a deck box full of outdoor toys for our younger guests. Guests have access to the entire property. The driveway can accommodate three cars.

Relax along the hosts' lakeside in Adirondack chairs while our younger guests enjoy the beach (toys located in the deck box.) Explore beautiful Clarklake on our kayaks (five adult and two kids), canoe, paddleboat or paddleboard (seasonal.) Life jackets (assorted sizes for adults and kids) are located in the deck box by the water. Our lakefront is also offered to guests from our other two vacation homes.

AUTUMN
Celebrate autumn in all it's glory at Clarklake! Experience the explosion of colors with a kayak trip around Clarklake (seasonal.) The Irish Hills has so much to offer this time of year from festivals and haunted houses to apple picking, corn mazes and hayrides!

WINTERTIME
As the temperature cools and snowflakes flutter to the ground, Clarklake becomes a winter wonderland! There are many wintertime activities to enjoy in The Irish Hills. Go sledding at The Cascades, attend a winter festival, visit the quaint shops in downtown Brooklyn and have dinner in a heated igloo! After your winter adventures, warm up at Casita del Lago with cozy blankets and hot chocolate.

Great Place

Anniversary trip

Was a great stay 5 stars all the way. Clean and looks and feels just like the pictures. Bed was a little to soft for my husband but it was nice. We did not enjoy any of the outdoors area as it was chilly and raining. Only suggestions I have is that the bedroom have room darkening drapes and that there was some board games or cards as it rained in the evening and it would have been nice to have that.

Beautiful and relaxing

We were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have asked for a cleaner or more relaxing stay. Our hosts were so helpful, we are terribly technologically challenged. Would highly recommend staying here and hop to come back for a longer stay next time!

I’ve never given a five star rating for a VRBO, but I give Casita Del Lago 5 stars My wife and I had a spectacular, relaxing fun week there, and Rob and Megan were the perfect hosts. We are looking forward to staying there again

Exceeding all expectations

Everything was so beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The hosts are incredible and genuinely care about your away-from-home experience. Guests at the nearby properties were very friendly, too. The house and lot were larger than they looks online, and the lake views are fantastic from a large, front deck. Lots of wildlife - including nesting swans near the shore. We really enjoyed the backyard fire pit :-) . Thank you for the perfect Michigan home and vacation experience!

Wonderful getaway less than an hour from Ann Arbor

When making birthday plans this year I quickly realized it was going to be much different (due to covid). Instead of dinner and drinks out with friends it seemed safer to just get my SO and 2 friends to get a cabin and just getaway for the weekend. Finding Rob and Megan's place was just a random search of waterfront stays nearby - coming from Ann arbor we had about a 50 minute beautiful drive out to Brooklyn area. We got so lucky and found this wonderful spot! Cute , cozy, and quaint! Our hosts were nearby and lovely to chat with, offered more wood and even ripped up paper bags to help kindle our fire. I will definitely be back again! A lovely getaway so close to home!
