This breathtaking property, located on 12 acres, is perfect for a vacation rental, weekend getaway, wedding venue, event venue, and so much more. Newly renovated and appointed waterfront home boasts stunning waterfront views and sunsets overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. An open layout includes the living room and flowing kitchen with a sunroom and wrap around porch, extending the living space to an entertainers delight or the ultimate place to unwind. A warming fireplace is the heart of the home, centered in the middle of the house, creating a fabulous gathering area for all to enjoy.

Main floor contains 3 bedrooms, including master suite with sliding door accessing deck with bay view, and 2 bathrooms with walk in showers.
Pool with large patio and pool house with screened in area, half bath, refrigerator, and counters for entertaining.
Basement with separate entrance is complete with 3 bedrooms, full kitchen and bathroom, laundry and pool table.
Bayfront patio complete with fire pit for roasting marshmallows/smores and enjoying the sunsets.
Some of our guests favorite past times here are eating locally caught steamed crabs, taking walks along the beach, collecting sea glass, swimming in the bay, relaxing and watching the regattas pass by in front of a captivating sunset.
The town of Rock Hall, known as the “Pearl of the Chesapeake” made the magazines “Southern Livings” Best South Small Towns list. This historic waterman’s town established in 1706 is an exceptional place to experience the bay for crabbing, fishing, hunting, bird watching and boating.
This private waterfront getaway on the Eastern Shore is only 3 miles away from town where you can stroll down Main Street, explore the unique shops, go on a self-guided waterman’s tour, enjoy the live entertainment, check out the Farmers and Artisans Market at Rock Hall Village in the center of town or bike to Eastern Neck Island, and an amazing National Park to where the bald eagles resides.

We love this place!

Third stay here and more to come for sure. Perfect house, awesome pool, and great views. The beach is small but certainly gives the sea glass! And Gunner is the best. See you next year!

Great place to relax with a View

We had an amazing time at this property. The entire family loved the pool, and it was a quick drive into town for coffee and walks downtown. New brewery opened up on Main Street and we loved the seafood at various restaurants. This property had all we needed to eat at home, relax and enjoy the family vacation. Plenty of room to spread out and the sunroom and pool room provided shade when we needed it. We also loved the two fire pits with the one near the water great for smores. We sat in the great Adirondack chair to watch the sunset every night.

Wow, just wow!

We had truly the most amazing stay. The house is set up beautifully for multiple families, so much indoor and outdoor space to spread out and enjoy. The kitchen extremely well stocked, we easily prepared a handful of large meals over the course of our stay and found everything we needed and more. The pool, grounds, and little bay beach had us pretty constantly outside even when the weather was not ideal. So close to Rock Hall and all that there is to enjoy in that idyllic small town. Gunner made everything from booking to checkout as seamless as possible. We hope to be back!

Family vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. I gave it 4 stars for cleanliness because there were quite a few dirty dishes and silverware in the cabinets and drawers so we re-washed everything. The gracious owner offered to come over and wash all of the dishes for us. We believe the issue was that the dishwasher wasn't cleaning properly and the cleaning folks put away dirty dishes prior to our visit. The dishwasher was repaired immediately once we told the owner about the issue. Everything else about the house was perfect and very clean! We spent each hot day swimming in the beautiful pool! The owner is extremely responsive to all questions and comments.

Amazing view and great pool

My extended family (8 adults and 3 kids under 5) all stayed here over July 4th weekend and had a blast. The pool was exactly what we needed and the pool house outside was perfect, with comfy chairs, a bathroom, and fridge. There was more than enough space for everyone to spread out and relax.

Wonderful family vacation

Our family had a great time, we enjoyed the pool & ample space for cooking, puzzles, relaxing & resting. The Osprey Inn was a great dinner spot, groceries were affordable & within a quick run. We saw bald eagles every day & enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the Chesapeake.

Fantastic property for R&R, responsive host

We are a group of 3 families with young children who had a fantastic stay for a long weekend together! The pool was amazing (and fully fenced for peace of mind), the house was very well appointed with all the kitchen gear and tons of pool toys and lawn games. We had one small hiccup with the HVAC system and the host was extremely prompt with getting someone out to fix it right away. We loved this place!

Great location - perfect for a family reunion

The layout of the property was excellent - a screened in porch overlooked the pool and a view to the Chesapeake. The pool provided hours of sunbathing and games. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Worked well for group ages 21 to 82.

Our family stay was wonderful, the house was spacious and the property was beautiful, incredible views of the bay. A bald eagle flew over several times while we were in the pool. Gunner was amazing and very hospitable. We highly recommend this place and plan on returning.

Amazing family vacation!

This was our second stay and we cannot say enough about this property. It's amazing in every way. The kids love the pool, the grandparents love the comfy chairs and endless views, the parents love the dual kitchens and everyone loves the beach. She may be a tiny spit of sand, but she still provides a ton of sea glass!! Gunner is awesome as well. I give the Lighthouse at Ellendale all the stars!!! We'll be back next year!

Ellendale has everything you could want in a rental home: beautiful property, welcoming pool, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen ~ even pantry space, and a responsive owner. Perfect Reunion!

Gunner's Rock Hall property was perfect for our group of 10 adults and kids from 2 - 12. The property itself was huge and well manicured with amazing views and lots of room for the kids to run and adults to enjoy many gathering areas from the firepit area (where we enjoyed cocktails each evening for sunset) to the lawn for cornhole, to the pool and amazing pool house where we spent an afternoon picking crabs and dipping in the pool. Inside, the house having two level with distinct living areas allowed the older folks to sleep upstairs and the younger families with kids to have the lower level to themselves, which was great. The home is beautifully decorated and clean. The bathrooms and kitchen were standouts! The kitchen was the most well equipped VRBO kitchen I've ever experienced. Thanks Gunner, we will be back!

Paradise

The house was amazing! Loved every aspect of this space and the layout of the house worked fantastically for our family of 10. Ellendale had everything you needed and so relaxing. The pool house was a bonus and worked perfectly for our needs. Gunner was extremely responsive and gave us several suggestions for restaurants in town along with things to check out, and every one of them was great! We would definitely stay here again and can’t wait to book another family vacation here soon! Would love to see a book written about the history of the farm, the stories Gunner told us were so interesting and just added to the charm!

Great time with Family and Friends

This house was more than we expected, way above our expectations! Perfect getaway for a peaceful (AND fun) family vacation. The house comfortably accommodated our family of 14, including 4 children. The house, pool and view were so beautiful, with amazing sunsets every night. Gunner, the owner, was very welcoming, communicative, and helpful with any questions we had. The place was spotless upon arrival, thanks to Gunner's cleaning team. The house was well stocked with spices, kitchenware (pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, coffeemaker, etc.). We brought our own groceries and did not have to, nor want to, leave the premises for the days we were there. Even the kids said they wished that we didn’t ever have to leave because it was so nice!

Overall ok

House was ok, property is very pretty, but is not all that private. House had a lot of what you needed, but not much extra. Owner charged us an extra cleaning fee for things that were not our fault, such as a torn screen which got worse as we stayed there, but already had large holes upon arrival and is virtually impossible not to make larger, the dumpster over flowing, even though his trash guy didn’t pick up the trash before we arrived. Also, there was a major hornet problem under the screened in deck, we had 6 people in the house get stung. Overall we had a nice stay and the views from the house were stunning.

Friends Getaway

Beautiful home on beautiful property. Everything was in great shape and furniture was very comfortable. Didn’t have use of the pool due to the time of year we stayed, but the set-up, including pool house with bathroom, looked very nice. Home was well equipped (e.g., lots of kitchen supplies, towels, bedding, etc.) and owner was extremely responsive to questions. In spite of bad weather, we had a great vacation, and it was largely due to how nice this home was and the beautiful bay view. Only two very minor negatives to speak of. We had trouble using the keyless lock code for the front door (this may have been user error) and the Wi-Fi network seemed to be weak (although we were still able to connect and view stuff on the smart TVs using our own accounts for Apple TV and the like…just slow setting it up), but these were very minor inconveniences, and did not detract from our vacation. Overall, this was a 5 star place and that’s how I rated it.

Birthday celebration on the Chesapeake!

We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to stay at Gunner’s home. From the moment we walked in, we knew we picked the perfect place to celebrate our birthdays! The location on the Chesapeake Bay was absolutely beautiful with amazing sunsets. Gathering outside by the fire pit was so relaxing and Gunner made sure there was plenty of wood available. The home itself is spacious and immaculate. Everything was pristine and the layout on the main floor was open and airy with spectacular views. The kitchen was well stocked which was perfect for preparing meals. There was plenty of seating throughout the home and a lovely sun room off the kitchen. The beds were comfortable with crisp white linens and there were fluffy white towels in all the bathrooms. Honestly, this house is a hidden gem. Gunner was an absolute pleasure to deal with and responded right away to any messages. My mother in law left her sunglasses at the home and Gunner was kind enough to mail them back to her. This was an A+ experience. Thank you for being such a great host and for the little welcome gift!

Incredible Stay! Do Not Wait to Book

Before I start on how amazing the property is, let me first tell you about our host. He is one of the nicest, most responsive, helpful, and informative hosts I have every worked with. And that is saying a lot since VRBO is my preferred way to travel. Now on to the property! The pictures do not lie for a minute. It is everything and more you see. You are directly on the Chesapeake and the views are amazing. The fire pit is a place for the whole family to hang and be comfortable on the water. We spent a ton of time outdoors. The yard is massive. We played games galore out there and the kids ran wild. Huge Wrap Around Deck with a nice grill. Plenty of space and seating. Now the pool wasn't open, but the pool deck and screened in pool house were awesome. Even had it own bathroom. The inside of the house was modern, clean, spacious, and decorated in an awesome Chesapeake theme. It is an open floor concept with awesome views of the water and plenty of room for people to sit comfortably. Showers were amazing and modern. Bedrooms were large and there are a lot of them. We had 6 adults and 4 children with us and everyone had a room with rooms to spare. The downstairs is a whole additional kitchen although we spent most of our time upstairs with the exception of playing pool. The views were just too amazing to miss. We are already planning on going back next year. If you think about renting this property , JUST DO IT. You will not be disappointed. Dennis

A truly exceptional VRBO property-book it! Extremely clean and perfect for large gatherings, balancing large group spaces (pool area, huge back screened porch, main living room) with more private spaces for small group conversations (front screened porch, side deck with firepit, pool house porch).
