About this property

Blake House Historic Estate with Private Inn

Summary:
Blake House represents one of the oldest colonial homes in Maryland, built by British settler, Charles Blake, of London, England, in 1691. The house is nestled within 12 acres of manicured gardens, boasting an abundance of indigenous and foreign flora, and surrounded by direct water access. But the most unique feature of this property is the Crown and Anchor Inn (circa. 1735), originally located in Southern Baltimore and moved to the estate in 1941.

The Space:
The estate boasts limitless amenities to ensure guests of all ages, sensibilities and sizes are entertained for days and days. Blake House offers an open plan living experience with expansive water views. Blake House has four ensuite bedrooms (one on the first floor). The grounds offer a 100ft pier with 10,000lb boat lift, outdoor corn hole and bocce ball courts, multiple outdoor dining areas, orchid potting shed, sauna house, fire-pits, lookouts, Kayaks, canoe, paddle board, and nature trails. The Crown and Anchor has a bar, seating, wood burning fireplace, billards table, foose ball, and mini dance floor. The Inn has two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a viewing platform on the second floor.

Be prepared to immerse yourself in the storybook of Blake House. You will not want to leave this magical place.

Don't forget to ask about our Elevated Experiences, including massage and Chef services!

Other Things to Note:
Whilst Blake House is a great place to host events, please be aware that there is a $100 per person, per day, fee when guests exceed 12.

Pet fees are $50 per pet, per night, with a cap of three pets at any one time. Please ensure pets are kept off furniture and beds. Pets are also not allowed to enter the pool as this seriously destabilizes the chemicals and damages the filter system. Violations of these rules will incur additional fees and/or penalties.

Please note that due to insurance and county guidelines a property specific rental agreement will have to be completed prior to your stay.

Interaction with Guests:
We are available 24/7 to answer all questions and address any concerns. We also offer assistance in making your stay extra special and exceeding guest’s expectations. If you can imagine it, we will do our best to make it happen!

Host profile image
Durham-Hythe Experience was established as an alternative to the traditional vacation rental. In 2013, founders, Gerry Coates and Matt Bruce met while vacationing in Mykonos, Greece, and a whirlwind romance ensued. The couple, passionate about travel, visited holiday rentals around the world and identified key elements that make a house much more than an overnight accommodation. Equipped with these insights, together with their professional backgrounds in construction, interior design, and clinical psychology, Gerry and Matt began curating vacation experiences that consistently surpass guest expectations and deliver unforgettable memories.
