Beautiful home! We loved our stay and were thankful to find this gem close to the wedding venue. India was wonderful accommodating our special requests and was very communicative throughout our stay.

Wonderful home in gorgeous, rustic location, perfect for a family get-together. Well-stocked kitchen and pantry, kind, responsive, flexible host. There was an unusual for VT heat wave during our stay but India installed an additional AC unit which kept us comfortable. Highly recommend!

We had a great weekend stay! The house is very clean, modern, and has some beautiful art and objects! It’s really excellent for a larger group because of the number of bedrooms. If you’re a horse person, the house is less than 15 minutes from Huntington Farm. The property up a dirt road but easy to manage (we came in summer). It is quiet and peaceful, and the many birds on the mountain will be singing when you wake up in the morning.Communication with our host was warm, informative, and very hospitable.Wish I’d stayed longer!

Town’s End is a lovely, large private estate. The 5 bedrooms and many spacious living areas were all very clean and extremely comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped and open to a large dining area to accommodate 8 people. A pleasant patio is off of the dining area. The host was always responsive in a very timely manner to any questions I had. Highly recommend!

Lovely Getaway!

We had a fantastic stay at Town’s End. The house is so unique, with artwork and touches that are so appreciated. The beds are firm but comfortable, and there is so much space both inside and out. India is a fantastic communicator and we hope to come back some day!

Home away from home

We absolutely loved staying at Town's End! This house exudes history and family - old books, a piano, a telescope, apple trees, ample linens/blankets, toiletries, dog supplies, a hammock.... We had everything we needed for cooking, grilling, hosting local family and beloved canine friends. The surrounding garden is beautiful, and hiking from the house was so fun. Well located for easy exploration of nearby villages and hiking. Perhaps some may prefer an updated/modern accommodation, but for us, the experience of being in a family "home" made it so special. We will definitely be back!

Mountain Getaway

This stay was an amazing winter getaway. You will definitely need 4 wheel or all wheel drive as this is hidden deep in the woods. Everyone loved the multiple sledding hills and the vast property. We particularly enjoyed using the provided snow shoes and toboggan. The house has lots of room for larger groups and is quite cozy. The antique decor is amazing and the various photos/books throughout get you invested in the family history and story of Townsend. India is very receptive and gets back to you right away if you have any questions or concerns.

Stay at Town's End

My family and I stayed at Town's End for a wedding and it was a great space for us. India answered all of my questions and was helpful in planning for my 92 year old mother's comfort. My husband and I walked each morning and enjoyed the scenery near the house. It is on dirt roads and reception for cell phones does not always work. I did not have a problem with this but some of my family members did. I thought it was very beautiful and the dirt roads gave a feeling of being far away. I appreciated the quick replies from India and recommend the house.

Vermont 2023

Beautiful area although a bit isolated. I found it relatively easy to go to one of the larger grocery stores nearby although the round trip was probably greater than 1 hour. The house had plenty of room for the 10 people of our party. Bedrooms and bathrooms were all good. my main concern was the step down from the dining room to the outside patio. There needs to be a formalized step rather than the large unstable rock that was there. Assuming there is a property manager who oversees cleaning etc. I would ask that they check the lighting as here were several lights that were not functioning. The middle support leg on the dining room table was loose and would angle sideways if kicked by someone sitting at the table. These are minor issues but do need to be addressed. Overall we were happy with the house and would use it again especially if we had a large party.

Thank you, Jim for your 5 star review! I send each and every guest grocery stores that are within 15 minutes of the property, plus advise each guest to get groceries on the way to checking in the first day of their stay so it is not a round trip effort. I have my handyman periodically check/replace all the lights in the house, which he did but right after your stay. I will have him Check on the step to the patio and the kitchen table leg. I’m glad you enjoyed your time at Town’s End and thank you for your helpful comments.

Our five days stay in late June was more than we could have imagined! Such a quiet place to just sit back, take in the sounds of nature & relax! The firefly display every night was magnificent, too. The house had everything we needed (and plenty of things we didn’t use, but others might!) WiFi,Prime Video & Netflix kept us from too much isolation, but we hardly used it. Beds were very comfortable, modern amenities & appliances, plush towels & multiple comfortable seating areas to join with others or seek a separate space! The access roads are well maintained & marked (just keep an eye out for the road signs and keep going!) We’ll definitely return!

Spectacular rural location and spacious, spotless house!

Husband and I stayed at this property for 4 nights and friends and family (a total of 10) came and went during that time. Everyone was impressed with the large, spacious house. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. 3 bathrooms had lots of towels and there were extra blankets and quilts in the closets. I communicated with the host, India, during the months from when we booked throughout our stay. I have never dealt with a more responsive, helpful host. She made sure we had precise directions to the property which was important. It is very rural, up in the hills of Tunbridge. As native Vermonters it was heaven on earth to us. Five vehicles came and went during our stay and all found the way without getting lost. Surprisingly, Waze worked off and on up in the hills. We also had very good Wi-Fi throughout the house even with the multiple devices we had connected. The outside property has beautiful grounds to explore, a fire pit, a picnic table and lawn chairs. Gorgeous views off to the west where we watched the sunset each night while sitting out on the lawn with everyone’s favorite snacks and beverages. We saw deer, turkeys, heard owls hooting and enjoyed the serenity of this property. Thank you, India!

Great secluded getaway

Owner was great with communications. We only stayed a short time. House layout worked great for us. Supplies especially for the kitchen and cleaning were great. Wish we had more time to spend on this quiet property but we got a bonfire in and the house accommodated our group of 8 or 9 really well. Really relaxing stay and exactly what we thought we signed up for.

Hi Daniel, Thank you for your 5 star review! I'm sorry you found the road challenging under these conditions! I do suggest to guests that they arrive at the property during daylight hours so that they get a feel for the road. However, the road has been in excellent shape the past couple years because we have been maintaining it personally, as it is a private road. I am sorry you found the beds uncomfortable, I have received reviews from guests expressing the opposite sentiment, that they found the beds very comfortable. Most of the matresses in the house are firm, which some people may not prefer. Again, thank you for review and for staying at Town's End, we very much appreciate it!

Our Vermont Stay

Town's End home is a beautiful home with spectacular views for miles. The interesting multi level house is indeed at the end of a long country road. It was just what we needed, a very private refuge with lots of quiet. The kitchen was very well equipped and we put it use and the dining area was comfortable for a meal as well as to hang out and discuss our plans for each day. Also on the first floor are a large living room, bedroom and bath, then up a half flight of stairs the master bedroom with private bath, and up another half flight are three small bedrooms, one set up also as a little library, plus a large office space and another bathroom. The yard is large and nicely landscaped, including a stone deck off the dining room, and picnic table with a fire pit on the large front lawn. We thank India and her family for making this amazing place available.

Nice getaway for both humans and K9

A Naturalists delight! Great foraging location and safe for dogs to run off lead. Because we were not familiar with the mountain we purchased GPS trackers and attached to dog collars. Obvious black bear in the area (saw one plus many recent droppings up hill behind house). Mattresses are firm. Recommend foam topper if you require some cushion. Owner was easy to contact. She supplied us with a list of local grocery stores and recommends shopping ahead of time. I fully agree. Shopping is a 20-30 minute drive. Also, good idea to download map when relying on GPS as cell service is spotty.
