Tampa Florida get away
Communicating with the property manager was easy. However the pictures they post are not equivalent to the way the house looks. The pool had black algae all over which came off easily w a brush. The hot tub barley stayed luke warm and we did get the jets to kick on.
The coffee cups had rings like they didn't even wash them. Just hung them up. I think they just need to take a little more pride in cleanliness. The beds are like boards... the property manager did order a mattress protector and that was supposed to make the bed softer. However it did not!! We enjoyed our stay but we will not come back to this property.

Thank you for your review. I'm glad that overall you enjoyed your stay at the property. I apologize for any issues you may have encountered.
The issues you mention in the review seem like almost all could have easily and quickly been addressed had you brought them to my attention during your visit.
Most of the pictures of the property are updated at least monthly and I believe they accurately reflect the home. However, not all the pictures can be updated and there may be slight decorating differences but all amenities are as shown.
The mattresses are new Posturepedic and are comfortable for the majority of guests. And are very far from "like boards" but as I mentioned everyone has firmness preferences and we do our best to accommodate everyone. I’m sure we could have delivered a different mattress pad if the one you were provided wasn’t sufficient.
I provided detailed instructions on how to operated the hot tub (including adjusting the temperature) however the temperature was set at the warm temp so the hot tub would not heat beyond the setting even if the jets where on.
Finally, I have a professional cleaning crew clean and sanitize after each guest and a property manager who inspects after each cleaning. And a pool company who serviced the pool during your stay. I have let both of them know about your concerns. I’m confident theses issues will not be a problem going forward and thank you for bringing them to my attention.

We actually had to leave after 1 night
When we booked the property, we asked about the option for heating the pool and paid extra for the use of their heater. When we arrived, the code for the door didn't work and it took some time to get ahold of the owner. We got a new code that finally worked. Then when we checked on the pool, the water was very cold and the heater was very old and was not keeping up with the set temperature. The owner had the property manager call us and she stated that she would reach out to the pool service company and then never got back in touch with us. That night we went to bed and as we were waking up in the morning we realized that the house heater was not working. It was 57 degrees in the house. We were looking all over for a furnace and never found it (maybe it was on the roof?) and after trying to get ahold of the owner for a couple of hours, we contacted vrbo to see what our options might be. In the meantime, the owner texted back and said they would try to find a place that was open to get a space heater to bring us. Mind you, this was Christmas morning and we had a three bedroom house. I felt bad that we were contacting him on Christmas, but we were freezing and a space heater was not going to do the trick for a large house. He then suggested a few hours later to turn on the oven and leave the door open. My 77 year old father was shivering and pulling his sweaters up over his face. This was not a solution. The owner kept saying it doesn't normally get this cold in Tampa. Yes, we get that, but if your furnace can't get the house over 60 then you shouldn't be renting it out. We left and checked into a hotel. We are still waiting to hear about our refund.

I’m sorry this guest had this experience. And they were refunded.
Tampa experienced record lows (in the low 20’s) Dec. 24-24. However, the home is adequately equipped with central heating as most homes in Florida. There is no furnace. I was contacted Christmas morning with the guest saying the home was 57 degrees. When I checked the remote thermostat I saw the indoor temperature in the mid 60’s and the unit off.
I attempted to instruct the guest on the usage of the central unit and gave several suggestions for warming the home up quickly in the meantime. I also offered to have the property manager stop by and drop some temporary space heaters while the unit heated the home and the temperatures went back to normal. However, they had already decided to leave. So I never got an opportunity to rectify the issue.
It was a great property to stay at. The only two setbacks for me was the comfiness of the beds. I know different people have different styles tho. And the other is the time to the beach. It took about an hour from the property to get down to Clearwater or Indian Rocks beach. Everything else was awesome.

Thanks for the great review and complements! As far as the beds... you are correct, some people love a firm mattress while others like soft ones. We try to have a variety of styles and offer mattress pads for people who prefer soft mattress. As for the proximity to the beach... there are many closer beaches than Clearwater or Indian Rocks but both are listed as less than 30min in Google maps so you must have run into some traffic.
