October weekend

Our family spent a weekend in October at this property and had a great time. The house is very well maintained and has intracoastal water views. The owners are very responsive and generous - they allowed us to use the beach toys/gear, kayak and golf cart. We definitely intend to return!

I really enjoyed my stay! The house was lovely. It was very clean and welcoming. The kitchen had upgraded appliances with all essentials needed. I loved the laundry service in which the towels were there individually wrapped and left in each room for your arrival. The internet service was great. It had a tasteful beachy decor and was so relaxing. I also enjoyed the porch(s). The location was close enough to the beach and on a quiet end area of the community. The owner was very responsive if I needed anything or had any questions. I would definitely love to go back and stay a little longer.

Love the place

Honie is very responsive and helpful. The house is well equipped and maintained. It’s clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the water view, the convenience location, kayaking and biking. Our fur baby liked the fenced backyard. Everyone in my family wants to return for another fun trip. Highly recommend.

Even the teenagers were happy!

This was a perfect VR/location for us. House was CLEAN and fresh! Just a perfect walk away from multiple ice cream, coffee, donut, grocery and souvenir shops. Better than beach front; peaceful, with the intercoastal view, able to see the wildlife and iccassional kayaker. Spent relaxing time on the screened and front porch...the bed swings were everyones favorite! Kids able to bike/walk on their own adventures too. Kitchen provided everything for eating in. Couldn't have picked a better VRBO. Host provided info without requesting and was quick to answer questions. Thank you Honie ; >

A Rental Renewal

It has been a couple rentals since I have actually enjoyed my stay. Weird breakdowns, scheduling issues, the most uncomfortable bed and furniture imaginable, the smell of black mold... I was about ready to throw in the towel on vacation rentals. This one restored a bit of my faith. Clean to the point that I felt comfortable not using my own linens. A bed that didnt have me up half the night. A lovely view that matched the pictures and descriptions. Near the best parts of Oak Island. Very nice extra amenities like a divine couch worthy porch swing that i didnt know i needed in my life. A properly stocked kitchen and a nice, decorated, flow to the house. If this house is available next time we are in Oak Island, I will happily rent it again.

Perfect living area for our stay

A small group of singer-songwriters met at the house for a few days of music and sun. The main living space was awesome! The kitchen had everything we needed and we had plenty of room to gather. Remember to bring your own linens and towels. We almost missed this as it is hard to find in the description. Also, the pull-out bed in the upstairs bedroom is not comfortable for an adult so one of our guests slept on the couch. Other than that, we had a fabulous weekend!

Amazing!

I took my mom, 2 daughters, a friend and her daughter for a girls get away! This place was absolutely perfect! The house is immaculate as well as so comfortable! We loved that it had 3 bathrooms, a beautiful kitchen , and super comfy couches! Morning coffee on the front porch or screened in porch was great! Relaxing in the hammock or swing in the shade downstairs was also pretty awesome. The host was so nice and helpful anytime I had questions! I sure hope to book here again! ❤️❤️

Great relaxing weekend!

Our family enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Tranquil Harbour. The house was extremely comfortable, and the location was just as described — away from it all, yet just a few minutes walk to the beach, with beautiful views of the Inter-coastal Waterway, which rose and fell with the tides. Though we didn't receive a confirmation email, Honie (rental owner) immediately provided the entry code when I texted her. One important thing to note for future visitors: we completely missed the fact that the house doesn’t come with linens and because we arrived in the evening, it was far too late to rent any! Ugh. However, there are several rental services on the island, and within an hour of calling Beach Stuff (910.523.0971), which Honie recommended and is just a few blocks away, we were all set with sheets and towels the next morning. They delivered and picked up, which made it super-easy (note that they only take checks/cash). Honie was very apologetic about the mix-up. It’s totally not her fault — I chalk it up to the fact that the VRBO *desktop* platform just doesn’t do a great job of highlighting things that AREN’T included in a rental (the icons for “linens provided” and “towels provided” simply don’t appear if they’re not offered…but if you don’t know to look for these amenities in the first place, it’s easy to assume they’re provided!) I think this could be easily remedied by providing the name/contact info for a linen service in the rental description and confirmation email so that future vacationers can plan ahead. Last note: the ice cream place around the corner makes some of the best ice cream I’ve ever eaten. We went twice in 3 days! Don’t miss it!

Great getaway for our family

We had a great weekend getaway. The house had everything we needed and was in such a nice quaint neighborhood. We loved exploring on the golf cart and bicycles. We fell in love with Oak Island while we're there so we will definitely be back!
