Great space and location with minimal ocean view, some letdowns
The space is great with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, ample seating and a large table to accommodate a bigger group. In season the location is amazing - not far from ocean pool 1 but also an end unit at the edge of the property so it’s relatively quiet. In the off season it’s a bit inconvenient as there’s no tram and it’s a bit of a hike to the Edgewater house for the indoor pool or the only remaining open outdoor pool. Parking is easy - the space is directly in front of the closest elevator to the unit but the only drawback, especially with a 1 year old during a very rainy week, is that it is not covered. The king bed in the primary suite was very comfortable and the two queen beds in the second bedroom were decent as well. The third bedroom has 2 twin beds that were so unbelievably uncomfortable - they felt like wood planks that were so squeaky it was hard not to wake the person you were sharing a room with when you would roll over. All of the pillows provided were so completely uncomfortable that everyone kept trying different ones each night and never settled on any we liked. Despite the crazy number of extra pillows there were no extra pillow cases which was gross. The closet in the primary suite had a lot of things left in it including clothes, extra blankets, extra pillows and a huge TV, either from previous renters or the owners, so it limited the space we had available to unpack which was pretty inconvenient. Additionally, they only had 5 hangers in the whole unit for us to use amongst 7 people. There were a handful of tall vases on the floor that were not ideal with a 1 year old so we had to find alternative homes for them. I would not consider this a toddler friendly unit but we came prepared with cabinet locks, outlet covers and other necessities. When we arrived there was a chunky mess on the floor by the closest window (under the curtains by the curtain pulley) that I can only explain as something that looked like cat vomit or a mix of sea foam, sand and food. The rest of the floor seemed clean and sand-free and the counter tops seemed clean as well. The keurig water reservoir had water stains and debris and needed a thorough cleaning before use. The provided toaster (there was not a toaster oven) was dirty and full of crumbs. The refrigerator/freezer was clean, though in an inconvenient location, but the ice maker did not work well and there was no filtered water. The couches and pillows were dirty when we arrived and some markings could be cleaned relatively easily so it was obviously an oversight and simply not cleaned after previous renters. Other stains were more permanent and show the wear and tear this unit has experienced with the same furniture being in place for over 8 years. One of the arm chairs had the black fabric on the bottom of the chair simply hanging down to the floor and there was a broken vase on the balcony and a broken lion sculpture by the front door. While we were there (our second to last night) a piece of the T bar holding the kitchen ceiling tiles in place started hanging down. When we tried to shift it back into place so much dust and debris fell all over us and the floor. There is no garbage disposal (gross) so plan on doing a lot of trash runs because the trash can is tiny (probably 5-7 gallons) and you don’t want to attract more bugs to the unit - there were already fruit flies. There are enough pots/pans if you plan to do some light cooking but the only cooking utensils are a silicone spatula and a pair of tongs. Anything else plan to bring or buy. There was salt and pepper and a very small bottle of olive oil but no other spices or condiments. There were 2 lights over the breakfast bar that just didn’t work and the display on the oven range was wonky but readable. The unit had 2 mops but no bucket and 2 vacuums. It also had a dustpan but no broom so any attempts to clean the floor were done on our hands and knees unless they called for a vacuum. There were small trash cans in the bed...

Beautiful space, needs some attention
We love Sea Colony! This is a lovely living space but needs some attention. There are no cooking utensils and most of the beds are hard.

Many broken and safety issues.
We entered the unit at 4pm and first thing we noticed was broken pottery and statue of a lion at the door. The carpets/rugs were wet and and overall unit had a musty smell. We soon realized the reason for the furniture and smell. The large sliding glass door to the wrap around balcony had no lock and or handle-meaning there was just an open hole to the outside. This unit is on the 1st level and accessible as so from the parking lot or street. Thus was a major concern and safety issue as we had 2 pregnant mothers and also little children. We immediately called the office and they said they would send maintence out to fix. They arrived with a wooden stick to try to jam in the door. This did not work and was not acceptable. The office was called again and they finally agreed to switch units. This ordeal too us until 9pm to finally get into our new unit. The whole night was wasted. They did eventually provide a discount and late check out which made our trip better, although we did have some more minor issues with even the new unit. Next time this unit and agency should fully disclose any issues with the properties.
