Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Comes equipped with anything you may forget at home or were unable to bring on the plane! We also ran out of toilet paper and the owners even delivered some to the door so we didn’t have to go buy any!! They are very good with communication and available to answer and questions you may have. The place was very clean and we had no problems whatsoever. If you’re thinking about booking this place, do it. You won’t be sorry. And the pictures don’t do it justice!!!
We rented a car in St Thomas, grocery shopped, then took the car ferry to St John. The house was about 30 minutes from the car ferry dock and exactly as described. We had visits from the hummingbirds each morning and a donkey at night! The views from the deck were beautiful. The hot tub and grill were in great shape and very clean. Ample towels provided as well as snorkel gear, 2 chairs and 2 different sized coolers, one with wheels. The fridge and cabinet had a few things previous renters had left such as peanut butter, dressings and jelly left so that was nice. The bedroom cools quickly at night. It was 4 minutes by car to great restaurants and a dinghy rental place in Coral Bay! We would definitely stay here again!
This was a quiet “treehouse” retreat, even better than the online pics. Thoughtful accommodations made our stay a delight. Had everything needed for our comfort. Loved the location!
The location was great and the house was cute and just perfect. Had everything we needed. Enjoyed the view on the deck as well as the hot tub. Highly recommend.
This place is so cute& has an amazing view of Coral Bay. Perfect romantic getaway spot. The kitchen is great. We enjoyed being able to cook at home and spend less money on going out to eat. It was very convenient proximity to Hawksnest, Cinnamon and Trunk Bay. It was nice being able to use the lawn chairs and coolers to make our beach trips great. I would love to stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lots of Knots! Quiet neighborhood, breezes coming in from Coral Bay, well furnished with everything needed to be comfortable. Sharon is friendly and welcoming, with clear directions, advice on getting around, responded to any message or phone call quickly. We would absolutely stay again!
Don’t hesitate to book this.
The views are amazing. Perfect location. We loved sitting out on the deck. The hot tub under the stars was great. Had everything we needed for cooking, relaxing, and unwinding from a busy day.
It’s an easy drive from Cruz bay. You don’t need 4x4. And it’s easy getting to several great restaurants nearby and grocery stores.
Easy drive to beaches near Coral Bay and a quick drive to the north shore beaches.
We loved staying here and hope to be back. Definitely recommend.
This was my first solo trip to St. john. I visited 15 years ago and fell in love with the island. The property was the perfect size for me and is the perfect spot for a couples gettaway. I spent a week there and felt like I was home, I actually shed a tear when leaving. I could write on for quite a while on the subject but I feel I would be getting to personal. I can say this for a fact, I will be back!!!! Thank you soon much for your lovely retreat!❤

Lots of Knots was a great couples rental. It was a perfect size with two main rooms - master bedroom and a kitchen/living area - and a beautiful view that overlooks Coral Bay from a spacious deck. For those wondering, the AC unit in the bedroom cooled the room down very nicely overnight, actually the to point that we increased the temperature when we woke up cold. As an added bonus, there was plenty of beach gear including chairs, an umbrella, snorkel gear, a cooler, and some floats. All a huge plus as they can add up to a few hundred dollars quickly over the course of a week renting. I would highly recommend Lots of Knots and would definitely stay there again.
We had a phenomenal time and who couldn't with excellent weather in the islands. Really only rained late at night the first two days (probably to fill up the water tank for us). Sunny and 82-86 ~ perfect for our beach trips. The cottage was quaint and perfect for us. We really do not cook on vacation, so the local establishments were perfect for us. The cottage was everything we needed and more ~ we didn't use the hot tub because we were in the hot sun and water all day. The location is great ~ high up on the mountain with unbelievable views and an exceptional island breeze all the time. We did not use the air conditioner at all. The ceiling fans were nice to spread the breeze around. The accommodations were perfect. Nice deck to sit on and enjoy our takeout dinners, evening beverages, morning coffee, and watching the "ants" (car lights) climb the mountains at night, driving home. The location is great for a quiet get away, close enough to the beaches and to town. The local eateries do close early so you will have to plan accordingly ~ but there are several establishments to pick from, and we had great meals from all, especially Rhumblines. Skinny Legs has great burgers, and Johnny's LimeOut has good BBQ. Aqua Bistro offers a nice sit-down atmosphere and meals. Didn't get out to Miss Lucy's when opened - missed out. Overall the whole trip (10 days) was phenomenal, and we miss it already. And planning already for next year. We would highly recommend Sharon and Zack's cottage for anyone looking for a quiet place out of the way to rest, relax and recline on St John.
Thank you Sharon!!! Way to go - you got us hooked on binge watching Ozark on Netflix until the early morning hours after a bottle of wine every night to unwind. Can't wait to come back. We hope to see you soon!

STOP! Don't scroll any farther! This place is Heaven! Quiet, secluded, best view of Coral Bay! Breath taking. Hosts Sharon & husband are the best. Quick responses & non-intrusive. This place has all the amenities of home! Wonderful location and views. Beach ready with chairs, snorkel gear, cooler, towels and more! Owners receptive to questions and provide detailed information as needed to arrive safely. Thank you for this stay - it was amazing!
We LOVE St John and usually travel there with a group but this trip it was just my wife and I.
What a gem of a little house! The spectacular view and breeze on the deck were truly amazing. The hot tub after a full day of hiking and snorkeling felt great. Very close to the North Shore beaches and Coral Bay shops and restaurants. Skinny Legs and Miss Lucy's were our favorites.
Sharon was very responsive and helpful.
Can't wait to plan our next trip.
We loved our stay at this property in Coral Bay. Very private and great view. This location was great for snorkeling the East and South end of the island. We also snorkeled Waterlemon caye and a few north shore spots from here. Rent a Jeep. You feel like you are in a one if a kind place instead of another over run cruise ship destination.
This is my 8th time on St John and my favorite view so far! Waking up to the panoramic view of the sunrise over Coral Bay was an amazing way to start each day. Lots of Knots is the perfect size for a couple and has everything you might need during your trip including beach items (beach chairs, umbrella, coolers, floaties/noodles) and a kitchen well stocked with pots/utensils, including a blender for island drinks. On STJ most water is not potable but at Lots of Knots it is UV treated- this is a great help when you normally have to go to the store for ice! Upper Carolina, where Lots of Knots is located, is our favorite place to stay, the sleepier side of the island, with easy access to North Shore and East End Beaches (our favorites are Salt Pond and Maho). We had a non 4 wheel drive vehicle and had no problems driving up the steep but well paved roads to Lots of Knots. This was a great spot for birdwatching (green throated caribs, grassquits, antillean bullfinches, kestrels, etc) and there are lots of iguanas to watch soak up the sun in the trees. The island donkeys may come to visit too :). You won't need the AC- just leave the screen doors open and enjoy the ocean breeze. Enjoy an incredible view of the stars at night from the hot tub. I loved that there is always a both a shady and sunny side of the house to hang out on. Host was extremely responsive and helpful- answered all questions we had in a timely manner and was available via text during our stay. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay- HIGHLY recommend Lots of Knots!
The house was small but had everything we needed for my husband and I. It was private and had a porch overlooking a beautiful view of Coral Bay. We really enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings! Groceries were expensive but there was some left by other guests that helped out. I would definitely recommend this vacation rental to a couple! It was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary!
