This home was perfect for our family staying together for a family wedding. Very comfortable and roomy. Beautiful, historic home. Our host Cheryl was great.
My family and I stayed at this iconic property on the occassion of our daughter's wedding. It is truly unique...SO convenient to Rochester - walkable, accomodating for large families/groups, and ALL the modern conveniences!! It was an AMAZING experience for our family to get-together to celebrate, and unwind. Cheryl was extremely responsive to any questions I had! HIGHLY recommend this home and hope to make a return visit one day!!
Great house in a great location with an accessible and responsive host. Only caveat: be sure that you enjoy historic, antique homes. This is a classic East Avenue mansion with plenty of charm but may not appeal to those preferring lots of natural light and modernity.
By far one of the best VRBO’s we’ve ever rented. Cheryl and her team were fantastic and they thought if everything. House is extremely comfortable, spacious, and stocked with anything you would want. We enjoyed every room in the house from the enormous kitchen to the cozy outside patio. Don’t think twice about renting this- just go for it!
Perhaps the best Vrbo experience we have ever had. Great home for our RIT Parents weekend and family reunion. Room for everyone. Great kitchen set up and great neighborhood with lots to walk to!
Wonderful house that easily fit my family for a rehearsal dinner. Comfortably held 20 guests for dinner and we were able to cater in the home. Highly recommend this house for family gatherings or if you need to host an event.
We loved the location and the property. Clean and well appointed. We really enjoyed visiting in the evenings and talking about the unique character of the property, a very unique stay. Thank you Cheryl! 5 STARS ALL AROUND!!
From the initial inquiry on the availability of the house to our departure our host Cheryl was nothing short of amazing. She was extremely timely and friendly in all of our interactionsOur entire family had a very comfortable stay in this historic mansion and loved every moment. The house is updated with all the amenities while retaining its historic charm. If you’re looking for an amazing stay in Rochester we highly recommend this location.
Easy check in. Host sent us code the day before. The house was BEAUTIFUL. I love old homes and this was a treasure. Nice neighborhood, felt safe and walkable. Kitchen was stocked well and we wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the house. We were in town 2 nights for a wedding but would love to come back and enjoy another stay. Beautiful china to use for the dining room also.
This is a grand house with large rooms that can accommodate a crowd, as well as intimate spaces available for quiet chats. It is VERY well stocked. Coffee, tea, bottled water, spices, cleaning supplies--EVERYTHING was provided. When ants crept in, we looked for insecticide and sure enough we found it. Communication was excellent, and everything was as described. The neighborhood is a lovely tree-lined area with restaurants and museums nearby. Enjoyed it!
We were looking for a large space to stay for a wedding weekend. We hosted the rehearsal dinner. I needed a place for everyone to have a seat if they wanted one. This place fit our needs perfectly. The kitchen seated 10 and the dining room 10. Plenty of conversations areas. We lucked out because it was the Christmas season and the place was beautifully decorated. Highly recommend! 12-30-22 to 01-01-23
The home was beautiful and well maintained. It was a special treat staying in a grand old home with modern amenities. It was nice to have the room to spread out, relax and be able to make meals and snacks. All linens, towels, kitchen utensils, plates, etc. were supplied (and clean!) as advertised. We stayed a couple of nights to attend a family wedding in town. We would definitely book again and come back to visit everything Rochester has to offer.
The host was easy to communicate with and checked in (from the app) several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Plenty of parking in a large lot. Lovely neighborhood to walk in. We easily walked to a nice restaurant for lunch one day. Highly recommend!
were supplied.
House was fascinating, we loved each room, it was a unique experience like stepping back in time. It was decorated for CHRISTMAS and beautifully done. We got to experience someone’s home that they went to great expense. Home had Coffee, teas, hot chocolate and kitchen had anything we needed to cook. We arrived the 26th of December. We definitely had the snow. There were 7 of us. Some went Snowboarding 45 minutes away 2 days. The home was close to restaurants snd coffee shops, . Went to Cafe Sasso to eat twice and Magnolia’s deli and Cafe which was just 4 minutes from house driving which loved and ate twice. Rented another car from Empire which was around 5 minutes alway. Went to the George Eastman Museum down the road from home. Had few more Museums just real close also. Thank you Cheryl you made our stay leaving with great memories my husband and I will cherish being with my daughter her husband and 3 grandchildren during the holidays.
This home is incredible! The pictures are nice but must see in person. Tastefully decorated and every detail is amazing! There is plenty of room to relax, talk, and even have a bit of privacy. The host answered all my questions (and many were little questions and me just wanting to make sure I thought of everything) and she answered my questions quickly and with kindness and patience! It sits back from the road a bit which made relaxing on the porch a treat. Every bathroom was equipped with nice towels and quality toiletries. There was a very well stocked laundry room with a nice iron and ironing board and a high quality steamer !! The top apartment is the icing on the cake!!! It’s a MUST add !!! The location is ideal. Quick to the highways, safe neighborhood for walking. Quaint restaurants within a block was a treat ! Every detail is covered in this charming historic home. We will be back !
We had been looking for a place to host a family gathering for relatives in the area as my brother and I both live out of town now. What a treat for us all to have found this listing! The place was beautiful, we marveled at the original craftsmanship and the renovations that had been so tastefully done to complement the home. The neighborhood is gorgeous as well, with an excellent Wegmans just down the road and lots of restaurants and activities nearby. My only regret is that we didn’t have time to stay longer to enjoy the place. Just sitting on the front porch on a beautiful summer evening and catching up with family was lovely. There is plenty of space and seating areas for folks to be together in a larger group or to have a smaller, more intimate conversations. We didn’t do much in the way of cooking but the kitchen is outfitted with everything you’d need and more. It’s beautifully furnished and decorated too. Cheryl was a great host with providing information and being in touch in case we needed anything. We are so grateful to her for permitting us to host and stay here!
The house is gorgeous! My immediate family used it as a base for my Nephews wedding. Wonderful place for entertaining a small group. The best equipped home I have stayed in by far.
The house is NOT appropriate for Seniors, one of our group fell down a flight of stairs and had to go to the ER. We recommend more direct lighting to eliminate shadows.
Property was very large and suitable for our family with four bedrooms and several baths. Very Historic Property and well kept. Quite Historic. Enjoyed the porch for people watching. Enjoy
We stayed at the house while visiting my son in college. The home is historic (1880’s) yet totally renovated with modern comforts. So much space and interesting details. Our host gave us a tour of the home upon arrival and was so helpful during our stay. Highly recommend this home for your stay in Rochester.
We stayed here while in town for a wedding. It was clean and spacious and perfect for having family and friends come and go throughout the weekend.
Cheryl was great and the check in and check out was seamless.
