We spent a few quiet days relaxing by the snow covered lake. Sitting on the dock by the fire pit was a special bonus and Denise even shoveled the snow off the dock before we arrived.
Love: spending time on the deck that is right on the lake with the fireplace was the best! We were there sunrise and sunset, didn’t see any neighbors during our time so it was quiet and private.
Like: grill and kitchen was nice. Personally for next time we would bring bakeware and linens. We liked the different areas where you can hang out, between the entrance porch, back side porch and the lake deck that had bar table and high chairs as well as low table with comfy chairs, all well maintained. String lights were pretty. Laundry was nice to have.
Eh: the phone was going off with robo calls. The description of 3 bunk beds and 2 kings was misleading. There is 1 king bed in main bedroom and 1 bunk bed in the smaller bedroom. I think the couch turns into a bed. The 1 bathroom has a shower tub that has a relatively high wall FYI. Internet was spotty at times. Nice for 1 family with kids. A kayak or canoe would have been nice.
Overall we had an enjoyable and nice comfortable time. Denise was very responsive and friendly.
Had a nice week on the lake. The neighborhood dogs are allowed to roam free, so there was a dog poop issue when walking the property. The owners have a lot of their own personal belongings around the house, which was unusual. The lake was beautiful and it was a great week!
property was not the cleanest. the bathroom and kitchen was not clean. I had go in and clean it my self which not right. especially with Covid they need to make sure that the propertyis clean. and they charge you for cleaning service. overall it was nice.
My family stayed in this cute house and enjoyed swimming and the sand box. Great deck, porch and dock. The neighbors are also lovely. Nearby mini golf and ice cream. Great area. Close to outlets and Lake George village.
There are no kayaks which would’ve been fun. If there is still a photo of the hot tub, it’s no longer there. Don’t drool too much over their cool bow rider docked.
Nice owners.
We loved our stay , the perfect weekend getaway and can’t wait to hopefully rent there again next summer. The neighborhood was family oriented but still peaceful. The house was lovely , clean and had everything you need. The check in was contactless , which is so nice for this time, yet the owners messages were attentive and warm. We have traveled to the Lake George area for 10 + summers in a row and this weekend was our favorite , thank you !
We had a great time staying at this house. The lake is beautiful and there is plenty of seating on the dock to hang out all day. The kids loved swimming to the raft. Overall great time!

Good and bad
My husband and 2 children (5+7) stayed for a long weekend. The pictures of the dock were great, and we were excited for a relaxing getaway on the lake.
Pros
-the dock was large and had plenty of seating
-proximity to lake
-plenty of utensils
-central air
The Cons list is a little more involved.
-check in: Upon arrival, the host was still there for the “contactless check-in.” We waited for appx half an hour on the dock while she finished cleaning from the previous renter. At this time, she said we could enter the property, but then sent her child in for another 10-15 minutes to say hello to my kids while she finished. I understand time can get carried away, but as we were expecting contactless check-in, this was a little uncomfortable. She did offer to add an extra hour onto check out, which we appreciated but ultimately left before original check-out time.
-There was a CAMERA on the wall in the main room. We couldn’t tell if it was on, but there were stickers on the door which implied we were being monitored. As I have young kids, this made me incredibly uncomfortable, and we made every effort to change in the bathroom.
-“bedrooms” is misleading, as the walls didn’t go all the way to the ceiling. So when it was time to put the kids to bed, there wasn’t really a divider to keep them from hearing the TV or seeing the lights.
-We loved this was a dog-friendly property, but we weren’t prepared for the unleashed aspect of the community. Several dogs often came over to the property, and dog poop was an issue as one of them kept going on and around the main path down to the lake.
-For charging a one hundred dollar cleaning fee, I was expecting more. The linens were freshly laundered, but many surfaces were sticky, fingerprints on windows and door, thick dust, webs and debris on kitchen lights, and as they were almost at eye level with me, it stuck out.
-we didn’t use the “sand pit” as it was too buggy, but the rods were broken and tangled so we weren’t able to use those.
-not something the host can control, but there was a definite party atmosphere on this lake. Tons of pontoons, speedboats, and jet skis. Loud music into the night.
Overall, this felt like we were crashing in someone’s home rather than staying at a rental. I can see where some people might enjoy that, but between the camera and lack of actual bedroom feel, our experience wasn’t what we expected.

Amanda we are very sorry our beautiful lake house did not meet your expectations. My spouse and I did not renovate this once abandon property with thinking we would us it as a business venture. So, I shall address the concerns you had with beautiful lake house. You commented it felt like someone one was living there in your review, and you are 100 % right. We love our summer home we worked so hard on these past 6 yrs. We go up there and stay in our beautiful home ever chance we get, between renters. we look at as a get away also. You see we had the opportunity to buy 2nd home so my son can grow up in an are where there are other children, because we lived there full time for 6 yrs. To address your comment about sending my son in for 10-15 min. Yes! you are right! I had very little time between you snd the last renters and I tried feverishly to get the house cleaned for you and your family. There were some very heavy rains and I did get caught up trying to get the dock cleaned up for you. However, I did not send my son in, me son is just an only child and saw your children and he wanted to show your children the toys he was leaving for them to play with. Again ! I am sorry if you felt uncomfortable with my sons friendliness. Im sorry you felt the place was not clean and we are listening to those complaints and we are addressing those issues to improve future stays. As well as the CAMERA issue we are again sorry, we do understand that issue you pointed out in your review and we are removing that from our wall. it was never on we did unplug the CAMERA, it was not functioning during your stay and we are truly apologizing for any uncomfortably you may have felt. The CAMERA and the stickers are only for the off season when there is so much snow we cant get to the lake house do to the location and the CAMERA allows us to monitor the home during mid winter months. As far as the sand pit being BUGGY, YES! It is the ADK PARK ! and there is nothing we could do about BUGS. SORRY! Im going to comment back on your issue on not having that BEDROOM FEEL! SORRY AGAIN ! We decided to leave our open ceiling for a reasons. 1. because we felt it gives more of a cabin feel
2. we also decided to leave it open, because we have hopes in the future to put in a loft.
3. We felt if we closed up the bedrooms now we would lose the beautiful view of the ceiling and again lose that cabin feel.
So, again Amanda I am sorry, MY BEAUTIFUL LAKE HOUSE we worked so hard on did not meet your expectations and like i noted earlier i will address those issues and correct them for future renters. Perhaps if you wanted bedroom feels and less bugs you should have stayed with rental company. We are not a rental co. We are just a couple who had an opportunity to open up our beautiful lake house to rent, make it affordable for families to get away after a long year.
Denise
A beautiful location convenient to lake George. The lake was great for swimming and the sunsets were incredible. The porch and dock were nice spots to eat and hang out while enjoying the view. The house was very comfortable and the owner was responsive.
