Exactly What we wanted!!
Week long retreat in the woods. Exactly what we were wanting and needing during Christmas week. This cabin was perfect in every way! Absolutely loved the decor with all the woodsy feel. The bed was extremely comfortable and we found ourselves getting the best nights sleep of all year long. I can not say enough about the cabin. Property management came by every couple of days to pick up our trash which was very helpful. Only had 2 very minor issues and both were resolved very quickly by management. We can wait to make our plans again to come back.

Great Relaxing Cabin
My wife and daughter and I wanted to get away for a three day weekend. So after searching Vrbo for a cabin, we settled on the Hillside Hideaway. We liked the fact that it was not right outside Hochatown like the last one we stayed in. We loved the cabin amd the grounds. The beds were comfortable and the cabin very clean and cozy. The kitchen was well outfitted for cooking and even had some items we forgot to bring, so that was very helpful. The "backyard" was where this cabin really shined. The firepit was where we spent a lot of our time, and there was plenty of supplied firewood to keep us going for the three nights. Down the hill from the firepit was a little stream where my daughter and I enjoyed exploring. We even took the supplied canvas chairs down there and sat for an hour or two just to enjoy the spund of the stream. There is even a very pretty little hiking trail a short walk from the cabin where we were excited to see a bald eagle soaring above us. Overall, we loved our stay at the Hillside Hideaway and look forward to staying there again.

Amazing Little Cabin ❤
3 days of RnR in a Amazing little Cabin. It was magical right from the start as we walked in with low music playing setting the weekend off right. Very clean had everything we needed to cook all of meals. We checked out the Mountain Man Meat Market for all our meat for the weekend. The cabin is off the beaten path and very quiet. Walk to the river was nice with all the trees around. We were very glad we could bring our small dog. We have plans to return in the near future. We met the property manager Darin so nice and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay.

Maria and I have been visiting this area for the past three years and simply fell in love with it. We live and work in Dallas, TX and decided to take a leap of faith to purchase our dream vacation property. We come here to unwind from the daily hustle and bustle of life!

Why they chose this property

We were looking for an outdoorsy escape that was within driving distance from Dallas, to get away on the weekends. The 35-acre Legacy Trails community was exactly what we were looking for. There were only seven cabins within this community and it offered us the peace and quiet from the noisy neighbors and traffic we get back home. Our cabin is embedded within 2.8 wooded acres of private land with scenic hillside views. This property has beautiful workmanship inside and out; the pride and hard work it took to build this clearly shows inside and out.

What makes this property unique

This cabin has everything you will need for an amazing and relaxing time. We wanted a place that felt like home; yet provided us with a get-away feel. The bedrooms contain handmade queen-sized aspen log beds and have plenty of storage space for all your belongings! The living room contains ample area to enjoy quality time with friends and family featuring beautiful floor to ceiling rock with an embedded gas log fireplace, rustic décor and a queen-sized sofa sleeper, a love seat and chair. For those rainy nights, there is Direct TV with 150+ channels for your enjoyment as well as some board games and an assortment of DVD selection.

This location was close enough to Broken Bow and Hochatown (only thirty miles away) to go enjoy some of the touristy things they offer, such as the Broken Bow Lake, the Hochatown Petting Zoo, and all of the really neat restaurants, such as Girls Gone Wine and then return back to appreciate the tranquility and peacefulness nature offers. You can watch the deer as they roam around

There is a more comprehensive list of attractions in our cabin, but here are just a few locations to note: Mena, Arkansas is only a beautiful 30-minute drive, where you can enjoy breathtaking view while driving the Talimena Scenic Drive, the Rich Mountain Firetower has observation decks and towers and is only 20.6 miles from Smithville, or the Mountain Fork Brewery with over 10 beers on-tap and 6 packs and growlers!
