Very easy checkin and out! Perfect location… on a quiet street but near by conveniences. Our host was very responsive, kind and flexible! And the cabin was cozy!
The lake house was perfect for our needs. Location was great, situated on a beautiful lake. It is in a nice neighborhood with nearby trails for walking. The home was well stocked and comfortable. Host provided so many amenities for enjoyment on the lake. I did wish for a broom to clean off the acorns on the deck and any sand brought into the cabin. But that’s just my obsession. Host was slow with answering questions. It would be helpful if there was a list of ‘Things you should know’ about the property. Hope to rent again on our next trip to visit family.
This place was absolutely perfect! It was a last minute trip for us and the hosts were super accommodating. We caught some fish and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather on the dock. The house was the perfect size and we enjoyed the trip so much we hope to be back this winter for ice fishing!

Thank you! It was nice hosting you and definitely welcome back anytime! Thank you for keeping things so clean! We hope to host you again in the future!
We were visiting family in the area for thanksgiving and found this place. It seemed like the perfect fit and it was! While the cabin is small, it worked just fine for our family of 6. The host was very responsive and accommodating! We’d love to come back over the summer and enjoy the lake!
Lovely cabin with nice outdoor spaces including deck and fireplace seating. Nice amenities in bathroom and kitchen. Met our needs perfectly. Close to Sherburne Natl Wildlife Refuge for observation of sandhill crane migration.
This property was great to enjoy views of the lake. It was an ideal location to "commute" between Zimmerman and Princeton. We enjoyed a bit of downtime one evening so the wall-mounted t.v. was an appreciated feature to the cabin. This place reminded me of my grandmother's cabin too. It provided the basics, reflected family ties & we experienced quirks of a long-loved place.

Great location. Cute and Homey
The location was perfect and beautiful! We loved the lakw view and the option of a boat lift, to bring a boat if we chose to bring one. The one disappointing thing was that it is listed for 6 people. There are only 2 queen beds, the 3rd bed is an air mattress on the livingroom floor. We expected there to be a pull out couch or something with there being 3 beds listed.
Perfect little rustic cabin ... with an updated bathroom and kitchen. Reminded me of Summers at Grandpa's Cabin as a kid. Enjoyed it with my two adult daughters and Grandson (9 months). It was perfectly setup with everything you need (plus). They had a nice Pack-n-Play for my Grandson and a walker that he could easily scoot around the cabin in. I'm looking forward to bringing my husband there in the Fall for some fishing. The hosts answered questions quickly ... thank you!

Not worth the money
Place was tiny, very old, neighbors were strange and very nosy. Bed was uncomfortable. The front door opens easily from the inside and with small children it was a safety hazard. There isn’t much of a yard. The Wi-Fi was terrible and wouldn’t connect. Not a very peaceful stay.

Thank you for the feedback, we really appreciate it. I feel terrible you did not enjoy the stay as much as others have. We will be taking steps to ensure future guests do not encounter the same issues you experienced. We feel this property is exactly as the listing states “cozy cabin” that does not exactly scream sprawling modern complex. Last I checked this is the cheapest option on the lake with comparable amenities included without the extra charge!
Invited our family to share Wild West Days with us. We all found this perfectly imperfect cabin to be on a sandy bottom lake, with easy fishing, and fabulous views. The comfort of grandpa’s cabin in every aspect. It was like grandpa was at home and lended you his cabin. It was stocked with the swim trunks you forgot to pack. The shallow lake gets warmer early, go swimming!! The dock is perfect for fishing. The canoe and 2 man paddle boat were perched waiting for us to slip them into the water. So, we did! Grandpa would have wanted us to anyways.
Kind of want to keep this nugget a secret so we can bring the grandkids back every season.
My family of 4 (2 adults, 10yo, 8yo) rented this cabin as a weekend getaway. It was fantastic. The place is small but fit the 4 of us just great. We spent all waking hours outside by the water. It was 4th of July weekend which you'd think would mean lots of boat traffic but I have to say, it was pretty quiet on the water compared to many other lakes we've been to. An occasional tuber or jet skiier but more peaceful than many lakes, especially close to the cities. We canoed, kayaked, and brought our own stand up paddle boards. The lily pad was great for the kids. The fishing off the dock is exceptional. Large northern can be caught casting straight out from the dock, load up on those nightcrawlers! And the kids were catching loads of sunnies. We intended to check out the park nearby based on other reviews but ended up keeping ourselves too busy fishing and on the water. Would love to stay here again.
While traveling to a wedding my family of three and my mother-in-law rented this rustic little jewel on the water. It was the perfect little getaway from the Vegas heat! Amazing views of the lake just wish the windows were one nice big picture window, but nonetheless we were able to enjoy the lake from afar due to uncooperative weather! Really wish we had been able to enjoy the deck and dock a little more! The kitchen is well stocked with everything and then some that you could need while on a short getaway. The owner mentioned they will be putting a welcome book together which will be helpful for those visiting the area for the first time, we left a few extra pamphlets behind as there are some amazing parks about an hour's drive away on the MN/WI border. The fall colors were amazing. We loved the decor, it is a little man- cave'esk. If we ever head back to the area we would cerainly stay here again!
We rented this cabin for a little relaxing getaway before our children started school. We were hoping for some good ol’ family bonding and good fishing. It did not disappoint!
We pulled into the cabin late. Even in the dark we could tell that this cabin was not like the cabins surrounding it. This is a true cabin nestled between beautiful new lake homes. But it’s ok, your not here for a fancy lake home.
The cabin has some nice updates, everything you’ll need in the kitchen and a nice bathroom, but it still has that cozy cabin feel. There are lots of amenities to this place that you don’t always find at a rental such as supplied soap, towels, shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee and even food items.
Let’s head outside, THIS is what you came for! Although the lake is a recreational lake and it was a holiday weekend, it was VERY quiet. We saw a handful of pontoons, a few fishing boats and two jet skis. We didn’t bring any water toys but that didn’t stop our family from enjoying the lake. You’ll have use of a Lilly pad, canoe, kayak, paddle boat and other beach toys. The paddle boat is a little difficult to steer but just go, take it out, you’ll have a blast struggling to figure it out. Paddle straight out from the dock and start casting. You’ll likely reel in a few northerns and a bass or two. If you don’t have the patience for that just put a small chunk of worm on a hook and drop it to the right of the dock. Before the line settles you’ll have a sunny hooked. When the sun goes down, you’ll start reeling in catfish.
Between taking pictures of all the fish you reel in, you’ll want to be ready at about 7:30 to get all those family photos as the sun sets behind you. It truly is breathtaking!
Finish your day with a fire, pre set up by the host OR go into the cabin and relive your twenties with a dart board tournament! If darts aren’t your cup of tea, there’s also a large selection of games including 90’s trivia, cards, dominos and candyland.
A hidden little gem we weren’t expecting was a nice, easy 2 mile walking trail about 4 blocks from the cabin. It provided a good break from fishing.
Stop on your way to the cabin at Tales and Trails in Zimmerman for minnows or grab some worms at the Holiday station. You’ll need them!
This vacation was just what we needed and we look forward to visiting again, maybe this winter for some ice fishing. Thanks for the fun Lake Fremont!
