The check-in/check out process was streamlined and simple. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed for meal preparation. The house was quite comfortable and had several areas to relax and play games. Our host Matt was very attentive and responded to any inquires we had very quickly. The house overall was very clean and had more than enough room for the eight of us. I would very much recommend staying at this property to anyone considering travel to the Cavendish, VT area. Our family would definitely stay here again when traveling to Vermont. Kudos to the Kapulunas.
The home was very comfortable for our party of 8, master bedroom was very large with a beautiful fireplace. The home was also well located for skiing at Okemo. We enjoyed our stay!
What a wonderful home - and hosts! Everything was perfect, from the clear and kind welcome notes to the beautifully appointed home and property. It had everything we had hoped for in our VT vacation, and more. Highly recommended!
This home is spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean, welcoming and well stocked. The whole experience was magical. The location couldn’t have been more beautiful. A level of quiet I am not used to. Highly recommend this property.
Matt is wonderful to deal with! This is our fourth stay at this wonderful home and he is so accommodating and thoughtful. I almost hate to tell everyone how great this place is because then it’ll be harder to get for ourselves. Already planning our getaway for next year.
Matt was super responsive and helpful from booking, to check in, to check out. The house was exactly as described. Everything was perfectly clean on arrival. Kitchen was well stocked (even sharp knives, which is always a bonus at a vacation rental!) and beds were comfy. Will be back if we are ever back in the Ludlow area!
Our group of 5 couples stayed at Stone Walls for 3 nights in January 2023. Hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful, home was clean and well-stocked, location was very close to Okemo and Ludlow Village. I would definitely stay again!
Five couples had a lovely stay in Cavendish! The house is well appointed - linens, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, clear instructions- you name it! Explored the area and neighborhood a bit. Fire pit was a bonus. Thank you for your hospitality. We would love to return!
We had a wonderful stay at the home. The owners provided us with helpful information and suggestions for the local area. It is a beautiful home with a well appointed kitchen. Our kids enjoyed the game room especially the air hockey table. Lots of space to relax and hang out as a family. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Jigna we really enjoyed hosting you and your family. We are glad you got to explore the local area. Thanks for taking great care of our home and we look forward to hosting you in the future!
We all had a wonderful time. We loved the house. It was charming and there was plenty of space for our nine family members. It was the most well equipped place that we have stayed in. Our grandsons had a blast snowboarding at Okemo. Matt, the owner was extremely easy to work with. We definitely want to return!
This is our third stay in this beautiful place and we are already planning next year. My 10 year granddaughter said it feels like home. There was no snow predicted but we enjoyed a lovely squall. We enjoyed lots of family time and wonderful fires inside and out. Matt is very responsive and accommodating. Love our Vermont vacation!!
We absolutely loved this property! It was a beautifully updated antique , New England home. The house was very clean and very spacious. There was plenty of room to spread out and the bedrooms accomodated 5 couples very nicely. The kitchen was stocked with many supplies, there was nothing we needed that we couldn't find! The hosts were easily accessible and promptly answered all of our questions. I would definately stay at this house again!
Thanks again!
Our family of 5 stayed here with friends (a family of four) for a skiing trip to Okemo after Christmas. This place was perfect for the 9 of us! This house is amazing--I took notes (and some pictures) that I'll be using when I get out of the military and am able to settle down in our "forever home." This classic New England farmhouse is spacious, clean, and updated with exceptional taste. It was more than big enough for the nine of us, and an extremely cozy place to settle in after a day of skiing with the kids. I've already been sending the info to everyone I know so they too can plan a trip to this incredible destination!
After many disappointing years of searching for the perfect weekend rental in the Cavendish area for a growing family which includes a small dog, I believe we have found it. Super clean, spacious, & comfortable! A beautiful well maintained historical home with all the amenities (in & out) to make sure children safe & entertained & adults could relax! One uninvited guest on Saturday night was a bat who was safely caught & released outdoors! Thank you Kaplunas family & hope you will have us same time next year!
We stayed for a week and this property was just right for our family and friends. Hard to find rooms without bunk or twins, so it was great to have 5 bedrooms for all the adults. The property was great inside and outside, with plenty of space for outdoor games and lovely firepit. House was clean and well stocked.
We took some suggestions and did the Bike and Brew tour, played disc golf at Okemo, and did some time on area lakes and swimming holes. Brian, the property manager was also quick to repsond to any concerns.
If you are looking for a great getaway with a group, give this a look.
We loved everything about staying at Stone Walls. The house was clean and comfortable, and felt like a real home -- the kitchen, for example, was particularly well equipped. The garden is lovely -- a huge expanse of well kept lawn shaded by maples -- with a trail going off into a beautiful wood behind the house. Across the (dirt!) road is a rolling meadow with an extraordinarily beautiful pond -- and yet more beautiful trees. On top of all this the house manager was extremely responsive when we ran into a minor glitch. All in all, I would recommend the house in the strongest possible terms!
From morning puzzles in the family room to afternoon reading in the hammock to star gazing around the fire pit at night, Matt and Carla’s home is the perfect place to slow down and spend quality time with the people you love.
The home itself strikes a wonderful balance of design, history, and comfort. We’ve stayed in a number of rental homes through the years and theirs is hands down the most well-appointed we’ve seen. (They’ve truly thought of everything.) The location is perfect, providing quiet, space, and easy access to nature, but still a short 5-15 minute drive to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Matt was incredibly responsive from booking to the moment we checked out. Again, they clearly go out of their way to make everything easy for their guests.
At the end of our stay, my family and I agreed it was the most peaceful and relaxing week we’ve had in a long while. Truly cannot recommend a stay here highly enough and we hope to return again soon!
Because all of the heavy rains during July and August, we encountered numerous road closures, bridge closures, business closures and reconstruction in the areas surrounding this property's location. However the house and property was unscathed by the weather events in the area. The house was exactly as described. Four bedrooms on the second level and a king bed on the third level. There is an expansive yard, great for the kids, multiple picnic tables with umbrellas, a large gas grill, and nice firepit surrounded by Adirondack chairs, hammock, apple trees, a blueberry bush and rock walls surrounding the property. The house is on the corner of 2 roads, but they were never an issue, there is a minimal amount of vehicle traffic as the property is quiet and fairly remote with only 1 nearby neighboring house that was occupied only on the weekend. The kitchen is well supplied with cookware, though we didn't find any pan covers, microwave, coffee makers, drip and Keurig, condiments and spices. There was plenty of paper goods, trash bags, etc. available. Groceries were available at Singleton's General Store, 5 minutes away and some restaurants were open in the area. The beds were very comfortable, and appropriate for our 7 adults and 2 young children. The owners provided details for nearby swimming holes that were enjoyed by our group. We found it easy to communicate with the owners and property manager via text and there were very quick to respond. We hope to return in the future.
Fabulous weekend away for an annual couples trip. House was roomy enough for 8 to enjoy. Lots of charm and history! We enjoyed the coziness of the fireplace and fire pit during the chilly days and nights.
The BEST place to enjoy a snowy winter holiday! Kitchen is awesome (we had 4 cooks), fun games and a game room, wonderful fireplace and family room, comfy beds, plenty of room for all of us. We LOVED it!
Beautiful historic stone house, on a great property with plenty of outdoor space for eating, hanging out, relaxing, playing. Well cared for home and yard in a lovely area. The house has great character with special decorator touches, furniture, and the beds and linens are beautiful. A very special place.
This was a perfect winter trip. The house and property were perfect. Perfect weather for skiing at Okemo, friendly snow ball fights, snowshoeing, sledding and we built a snowman too! Roaring fires and lots of laughter in the evenings. We hope to return for a longer trip next time 💕❄️
Matt was a great host - easy to communicate with and his home was a delight. The little ones enjoyed running up and down both staircases and playing in the game room. The home was the cleanest and the kitchen the best stocked that I have ever booked. Wished we could have stayed longer.
