Say hello to the completely remodeled Drift Away in a prime location just one block to the beach & 2 blocks to the Seaside Amphitheater. Bright and cheery coastal decor welcomes you in every sunny space.

Drift Away is a combination of the main home (4 bedrooms) and the Suite (1 bedroom) combined with double the space to provide for large families with children or as a two-family-shared accommodation with plenty of privacy. Upon entrance, the generous screened-in porch has several outdoor seating accommodations. There are two rockers at the front door, a favorite morning coffee location, and next is an adjacent outdoor dining area for four. Behind the dining alfresco setup is a comfortable lounge seating area and an additional rocker setup. This expansive wrap-around porch is a family favorite for evening meals outdoors and the perfect location for visiting with family and friends.

The first floor includes two living areas, two dining areas, two fully-equipped kitchens, and two full baths (shower only). The combined open floor plan has the primary living, dining, and kitchen at the front of the home. The renovated kitchen has all stainless steel appliances and a fun retro green fridge for a fun beach vacation vibe. The kitchen features a four-burner electric stove and adjacent bar seating for three more. There is an adjacent dining area that comfortably seats eight. The first bedroom is a queen bedroom at the front of the home with plenty of natural light and the second bedroom features two twins at the rear of the home. These two bedrooms share a renovated shared hall bathroom with a single vanity and a glass-enclosed walk-in shower.

At the rear of the home, you will find the third bedroom, a king with a shared full hall bath (shower only). There is the secondary living area off the king bedroom with a full kitchen, bar seating for three and adjacent dining area for four. The living room features a queen sleeper sofa for two more. On the second floor are the final two bedrooms with a shared full bathroom with a shower only. The fourth bedroom up features a king bed and the fifth bedroom has two twins. All Drift Away units and the Hide Away cottage share one washer/dryer that is located under the stairwell at Hide Away.

This cottage may also be rented as a Drift Away Main (4-bedroom) cottage or a Drift Away Suite (1-bedroom) during Fall, Winter, or Spring only. There is also a separate carriage house, Hide Away, which is a 1 bedroom stand-alone guest cottage available for rent separately in addition to Drift Away if you need more room.

There is shared driveway parking for this unit. The carriage house, Hide Away may also be rented at the same time, and guests will have first come/first served driveway parking.

5-night minimum Spring, Spring Break, and Summer; 5-night minimum Fall; 3-night minimum Winter. Must be 25 years of age to rent and sign registration.

Would not rent this home again for our size family.

Reviewer Comments: We wanted to love this place but the cookware needs replacing, the house is really dirty i.e. mold in showers, ice maker in one fridge didn’t work. washing machine so moldy we couldn’t use it. i asked repeatedly for it to be cleaned and the mildew spray your people supposedly applied did nothing. the repair guy said it was stain and no homeowner wouldpay for a new belt. i personally bought vinegar and bleach and cleaned it forour use. it is not the tier you advertise it as. one parking space for a 5 bedroom house is not enough either.

Fantastic Location

This home is perfectly located! One street over from the square and steps away from the entrance to the fitness center and pool. The beach entrance is soooo close. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. And the screened in porch is amazing! The rooms are small but comfortable. Plenty of linens. The kitchen has everything you need—plenty of place settings, drip coffee maker, one serving Keurig, blender and lots of pots and pans. There aren’t any plastic storage containers for left overs so bring those with you if you plan on cooking for yourself some days. There were only two negatives—the kitchen sink sprayer needs to be repaired. It is difficult to get it to turn off most of the time. So don’t use it until it is repaired. The listing says “no pets” but it was obvious the house had certainly had pets before our visit. We found clumps of animal hair in the corners of the living room and the front bedroom had animal hair on the pillows. We laundered the linens in that room and moved on. The corners of the home and under the couches and beds could use a good cleaning. FYI, the laundry facility for the house is under the Hideaway cottage in its own little room. It is not in the Drift Away house. Communication with the rental agent was great. He/she was timely and kind. We would certainly stay here again!

We did have issues with the door code (3 new codes for the week) and plumbing issues with slow drains. Had a shower handle problem with maintenance promptly repairing it. Disappointed that we were not aware we would be sharing a washer/dryer with other units. Main Refrigerator did not have all the shelves in the door and made storage difficult. Great AC units, enjoyed the kitchen layout and loved the large porch and location of the unit the most. Very convenient to everything.

Usually rent a golf cart but didn’t have to there. The big kids could walk or ride bikes everywhere. The walk to the beach was 5 minutes loaded down and all. The beach access is just down the street and has amenities that make the transition to and from the beach nice. Highly recommend. Rooms aren’t huge but we didn’t go to stay in the bedrooms. Everything was clean and functional.
