Very clean and spacious. But the true star of this rental is the location slightly out of Gardiner. The drive to and from the cabin gave us some of the best wildlife sightings of our Yellowstone trip. We got up close and personal with the elk and antelope and even got to witness two bull elk fighting one morning. The mountain views were awesome as well. It was a cool experience overall.

We are grateful for the vegetation in front of the cabins, along the riverbank. If you know anything about living along a river, the vegetation stabilizes the riverbank. It also provides critical habitat for wildlife (like the grizzlies and mountain lions that traverse the area under the cover of darkness). During the 500-year flood in 2013, it literally saved the cabins from falling into the river and the bank from eroding. In fact, the house that DID fall into the river upstream had no vegetation between it and the river; thus, it fell in. Ironically, it got hung up on our riverbank for a brief period before crashing into the bridge downstream and losing its entire roof when it hit the bridge. We love sitting on the patio and watching the small waterfall that runs year-round directly across the river. Yes, we do have a privacy fence on the south side of the patio - so we don't have to see the guests on the patio at Cabin #9. Can't please everyone I guess. We love it and enjoy sharing it with others. Beats the city and staying in town or a hotel. To each their own. Safe travels to you.

Absolutely great lay out for our group.Nice kitchen area very well laid out. Really enjoyed setting outside right by the yellowstone river while watching wildlife and lots of elk deer. Super clean home and love the location. Super clean and the owners were very good to work with. We be back again next year to visit again. Looking forward to our next stay!

I genuinely enjoyed my stay in the Bison Hallow Cabin!! Tammy, the host provided all the check-in details well in advance of my stay and everything was as advertised. The place was clean and ready for my arrival on time. She also responded quickly when I asked a couple general questions on my fist day and provided me with some interesting history about the cabin and the area during our general text conversation. The cabin was very peaceful with the Yellowstone River flowing in the background. The views were amazing and the animals around the cabin and on the drive to the cabin were wonderful!! When at the cabin, I spent most of my time day or night on the patio just soaking in the beautiful sounds and views. The cabin provides easy access to YNP North Entrance and Gardiner, MT. There is a short backway to the major highway if you want to head towards Bozeman, MT. I give my highest recommendation for this cabin!! I hope to return to this Bison Hallow Cabin sooner than later. Thank you Tammy for a wonderful experience!!

Nice cabin with a beautiful view of the Yellowstone river and mountains from the back porch as well as the snow topped mountains from the front of the cabin. Nicely appointed and clean. The drive to the cabin is also beautiful with opportunities to see wildlife (pronghorn and elk every day) along the way. Very convenient to the Gardiner entrance to Yellowstone (10 minute drive). We would recommend to others.

The property was exactly as listed. We had no issues checking in and all information was well communicated. It is 4 miles out of town, right along the river. It was quiet and peaceful. The views were beautiful! We would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Yellowstone but not wanting to be in the middle of town. Great place to stay!

I enjoyed my stay and would return. Loved being right on the river! The only thing I would caution the next guest for is, when you shower be sure you have the bathroom door closed and the fan on or the steam sets off the fire alarm!! But on a happy note, the water pressure is great!

As someone in the real estate world for over 25 years, it is best practice to ALWAYS run the bathroom fan when showering. This prevents unnecessary mositure build up and potential for mold, as well as removes the humidity. And yes, the smoke alarms are VERY sensitive and steam from the shower will set them off...and then they all go off. It's fun. ;)

The location was ideal to access the North entrance of the park. About 10 minutes from the town of Gardiner, but far enough to not be in the middle of all of the tourism. The view and sounds of the river from the patio were beautiful! Beds are comfortable and there is plenty of space. The host was responsive although we didn’t have much we needed to communicate about while there. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Bison Hallow! The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had most everything we needed. The views of the river and mountains are beautiful. Enjoyed seeing some Yellowstone rafters float by. The location was perfect for visiting Lamar Valley and very peaceful and relaxing. The bathrooms are each connected to the bedrooms, which was convenient for our family group.  Note: bring your own shower soap and shampoo, as these are not provided.We were concerned about bringing the garbage to the dump site on our way to the airport, but it all worked out. The 5-mile drive on gravel road to Gardiner and the Roosevelt arch entrance was fine, but note that some car rental contracts might not allow driving on gravel.We would love to stay here again and highly recommend it!
