About this property
Considering a Yellowstone destination wedding? We might be just the place!
We are located on the banks of the Yellowstone River, 10 miles north of Gardiner, Montana--the oldest entrance to Yellowstone Park.
Our lodge is 4300 square feet, with seven bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a large dining room, full kitchen, large family room with stone fireplace downstairs and a large living room with stone fireplace upstairs. There are two decks, one overlooking the Yellowstone River and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We have a very large lawn with shade trees also. It is a good place to relax after a busy day of activities.
It is a beautiful and convenient location for visiting Yellowstone Park and the surrounding area. The Park is only 10 minutes away. In addition to seeing Yellowstone, there are many other activities to do and see in the area, such as: horseback riding, hiking, fishing, river rafting, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and hunting. All of these activities are available in the nearby upper Yellowstone Valley. This area is a beautiful place to visit any time of the year.
Winters in the Gardiner area are usually pretty mild. The road through the northern part of Yellowstone to Cooke City is open year-round. This most scenic part of the Park offers unlimited wildlife viewing, particularly of elk, bison and the famous Yellowstone wolves. There is snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in the mountains above Gardiner, Cooke City and in the Park. Downhill skiing is also available nearby at Bridger Bowl and Big Sky. We recently installed a new propane furnace for comfortable wintertime stays .
We built the lodge ourselves with hand-hewn logs, cut and pulled out with our team of Clydesdale horses from the mountains within site of here. The stones for the fireplaces were picked from nearby fields.
The lodge is also available during hunting season. The trail heads in the vicinity offer good elk hunting on the National Forests of the Gardiner area.
While we do have a no refund policy for cancelations, we always try to work with our guests. We will give you a refund if you cancel far enough in advance for us to reschedule your dates. We generally have no trouble rescheduling the summer months unless you cancel a week or 2 prior to your stay. We will also give a refund If Yellowstone Park is closed for any reason, during your reservation dates. We highly recommend guests getting trip insurance as precaution for the possibility of a natural disaster, such as the unprecedented flooding we had this year. We are also willing to transfer your deposit to a date within the next year, if you had to cancel for some reason.
If the dates you are looking for are not available, feel free to contact us about our second log lodge. It was built in 2006 and accommodates 18. In the same great area, it is slightly smaller with five bedrooms. It is VRBO listing #151009. It is also sits on the banks of the Yellowstone River.
We handle all of our bookings-no property manager . We look forward to hearing from you!

About the host
Hosted by DruAnn Robidou

John and I lived in the Gardiner area for 46 years, raising our family here and working in the outfitting and ranching businesses. We have 6 kids and 16 grandchildren. In 1996 we sold our outfitting business in the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness area near Gardiner and purchased a guide territory in Northern British Columbia. We spent our summers and falls in B.C. for 11 years. In 2006 we sold the guide area and purchased a ranch where we now live raising cattle and hay . We enjoy spending time with our family, hunting, taking horse pack trips. I also am a avid scrap booker and quilter.
The lodge was completed in 2001. It is constructed of logs that were harvested locally by John and skidded out with our team of draft horses. They were then hand peeled by our family. We did all of the building ourselves, from pouring the concrete to putting on the roof. John and DruAnn Robidou

Why they chose this property
Our property is a great place for a family reunion, girls or guys getaway trip, any kind of craft retreat, weddings and wedding receptions . Our lodge is spacious, has a big yard and overlooks the Yellowstone River. It is a great location, only being 10 minutes from the Park entrance. We have extra tables, chairs and will do all we can to accommodate your groups needs !
What makes this property unique
Obviously our location to Yellowstone and the size of the lodge are our biggest benefits. There is also world class fishing just out the back door on the legendary Yellowstone river, along with white water rafting. The scenery is awesome, whether you are seeing it from your car, our deck , hiking some of the many trails in the area or from the back of a horse while spending the afternoon with one of the many local horseback outfitters. You have all the peace and privacy of being in the country, while also being just minutes from the parks north entrance. The layout of the lodge gives everyone their own space and privacy. However for those large groups desiring more room we have an additional lodge located just up stream on the other side of our 6 acres. We have a covered log pavillion with deck overlooking the river and large yard with room for the kids to run and play games. We have hosted numerous family reunions , weddings and receptions and craft retreats. Staying with us you will see first hand why they call Montana the 'Last Best Place'.
