70 steps to the BEACH! Three block walk to Belmont Park and local dining and attractions. Newly remodeled (May 2023) with a wonderful open design, perfect for enjoying with the whole family! Four bedrooms are as follows: TWO KING bedrooms and TWO bunk rooms. Great for sharing!

Located on the beach side of Dover Court in South Mission, just south of Belmont Park and the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster. Part of a two-unit home, this property is the whole upper-level, located above a separate two-bedroom beach cottage.

TWO OUTDOOR AREAS: ONE BALCONY DECK OFF THE LIVING ROOM WITH A WHITE WATER VIEW AND ONE ROOFTOP DECK WITH AN OCEAN VIEW! Note that this property does not share the ground-level patio, and instead has a balcony as well as a private rooftop deck. Spend your mornings and evenings on the rooftop complete with BBQ, sitting area, and ocean view! Enjoy grilling and dining while just steps away from the deep blue sea, the boardwalk, sandy beach, and surf. The location is ideal, making this property convenient to beach activities and all the other sights you don’t want to miss while in San Diego! Check the map to see for yourself!

Two king bedrooms, two kid bedrooms, as well as two sofa sleepers. Plenty of sleeping space to choose from.

* We love our furry family, but please leave your pets at home. We have a strict no pet-policy to keep our homes clean and allergy-free for all guests!

* Markets and restaurants are all within a 2 to 3-block walk.

* Lots of bike, kayak, surfboard, and sailboat rentals all nearby.

* Plenty of boogie boards and sand toys available at the property for guest use.

* We have a guest laundry room with multiple washers and dryers that will help you pack lightly. Don’t forget your beach towels!

* Garage parking! Private reserved two-car garage that barely fits a large SUV with big garage door open, but we advise to bring/rent an average or smaller car at the beach, if you can!

Fun location and place

The kids and I really enjoyed our stay. The beach is so close to see from the balcony or rooftop, and nice to have a short walk onto the sand. The place was clean and comfortable.

Great location!

The house is in a wonderful location! Just a block to the beach and a short stroll down the boardwalk to restaurants and Belmont Park. The to deck of the house is a great spot to hang out. The kids loved the bunk rooms, and it was comfortable for us all!

Holiday Get away!

We had a wonderful time in Mission Beach at Mermaid’s Hideaway. It was lovely- the space was large and open, with great bedrooms and the rooftop deck was awesome. It was steps to the beach and conveniently located close to restaurants and coffee shops. We had great breakfast at the Blue Palm, right around the corner. The kitchen was really well stocked with equipment and the owners were so friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend this property!

This property was just as described and pictured. Rooms are great sizes and it’s comfortable. The beach is a block down and the activities on mission beach are a 5 minute walk. Loved it! Would recommend and book again.

Yearly family beach time!

I have rented both units at this location for several years for my kids and grandkids as well as friends. Every year we are treated to more upgrades. We love this space and the location, very close to the sand without everyone looking inside your place. Always super clean and beautiful. Love this place!

Fantastic family vacation home!!

My extended family and I stayed at this home for a family vacation and it was absolutely perfect! We had a group of nine people and there was plenty of room for everyone. The location was great as well, walking distance to so many shops, attractions, and the beach so we ended up staying within a couple miles of the home the majority of the trip. The house had everything we needed so it was essentially unpack and go enjoy the beach. We originally reserved the home in March 2020 however with the start of the pandemic and everything being shut down we had to reschedule- Sharon was an absolute dream to work with during this, she was understanding, very flexible, and resonded quickly to email. I would absolutely recommend this home or any property owned by Sharon and Curt for your next vacation!

Great spot with plenty of room

Lots of room and close to everything we were looking for. The only downside to our trip, and this was purely due to how unseasonably warm the weather was during our stay, was the lack of air conditioning (which was clearly spelled out by the owner). This was the warmest trip we’ve ever made to San Diego and I imagine under normal circumstances the lack of AC wouldn’t have been a problem. However, two of the rooms didn’t get much airflow so even leaving all the windows, interior doors, and sliding door open at night didn’t mitigate the heat wave. Overall, the place is great and were the temps about ten degrees cooler it would have been perfect. We would certainly stay here again.

The location of the house was amazing! Check in was easy. It was a bit tricky finding the house with the narrow neighborhoods but Sharon was available to help navigate to it. The space was open and can accommodate 6-8 people. They even have a rooftop terrace to hangout and enjoy the sunset. Beach is only a few steps away. The only negative was the cleanliness. We did find hair strands on some of the nightstands and mold in the showers.

Our family stay was great! The beach house was just what the family needed to take a break. From the the first day we arrived to our departure the process was a breeze. There was plenty of bed space for the kids with two adult beds separate from the kids bedrooms which is nice for rest and relaxation. The kids have their own television in two different rooms that allows access multiple different apps connected the beach house WiFi. A fully stocked kitchen with plenty of seating space for two families. The roof access is nice with a beautiful view of the ocean and a breath of fresh air. A fully stocked kitchen made it easy and convenient to cook from home. If there was any issues or questions a quick answer was only a call or text away. We had a great time and look forward to another possible future stay.

Family get-away

Booked for a quick getaway for the family. Place was stocked and was pretty much the standard for the area. We've stayed in 10 or so short term rentals along the southern CA coast, we enjoyed this one as much as any of the others.
