About this property

Welcome to Goose Island Retreat! We call it “Goose Island Retreat” because of the cute little island (that can totally be explored) right out in front of the dock. The geese enjoy gathering there during mating season.

~ Beautiful and spacious 4 Bedroom (Including 2 Main Suites,) 4 full Bathroom home

~ Very convenient to Raleigh, NC and Richmond, VA – just 15 minutes off of I-85!

~ The home offers a fully stocked, open kitchen with a second full-sized refrigerator downstairs, perfect for 2 to 3 families. The home sleeps 12.

~ Enjoy the boat house where you can have drinks at the bar (there is a refrigerator there too!)

~ Dip your feet in the water, and get adventurous and jump off the top balcony. No worries on touching bottom – it’s 23’ deep at the end of the dock!

~ Enjoy the paddle board, water mat or canoe. Two kayaks are also included for you to enjoy on the lake during your stay. The boat slips are not available to use, but you can tie your boat up to either side of the dock. If you need to rent a boat, we can help you with that, just let us know you'd like a referral!

~ Inside the house, enjoy foosball and lots of games and toys for the kids.

~ Mornings are wonderful for reading your book in the screened room. Afternoons get shade on the patio and you can enjoy the firepit at night for s'mores.

~ Hotel quality cleanliness, including mattress encasements on all beds. This lake home truly has it ALL!

~ A maximum of two dogs are allowed and are at least one year and older, up to date on shots, and on flea/tick medication. There is a non-refundable pet fee of $125 for the first $75 for the second.

Great family time

Well stocked home everything you need great location beautiful home only minus is no outside lighting no paddle for paddle board most chairs on upper deck unusable we booked for July knowing it would be hot looking forward to sun going down to enjoy outside area (which was unparalleled by any previous rental) no lighting was a real problem

Come and relax

House was very nice and big for our family of 10. Many games for the kids to play. kids enjoyed jumping from the top of the upper deck at the dock and many hours fishing. Quiet and secluded area. Just make sure you have all your supplies as the nearest store is about 20 min. We did have some minor issues with hot water but we would stay here again. We did rent a boat for additional activities such as rafting and that was the highlight for the kids

Beautiful Home. Awesome boat house

Absolutely loved this place. House was nice, clean and great for the kids. Not even sure how many fooseball games we played. The dock with deep water was perfect for the boat and for kids to jump off top of dock. The only thing that would have made this better would have been the ability to use the community boat ramp. The public one was pretty far and gps took me down a clay dirt road. Had to wash the red clay off my new boat but would still stay here again anyways
