This 2,730 square foot home has 4-bedrooms, with 3 full bathrooms, and a sleeper sofa. This house has everything you need for your Lake Gaston vacation! The private waterfront vacation destination has all the amenities of home - and MORE. A giant screened in porch overlooking the lake can host your dinners and evening cocktail hour. A large downstairs recreation room is great for keepingu the kids occupied in the evenings or on rainy days with ping pong table, Pac Man machine, TV, and many many books, games and puzzles! This property is not baby/toddler proofed in any way, so be cautious with very young children. A ring camera for safety is located at the front door - no other cameras are on this property.

A newly built 1,200 sf boat house is there for your enjoyment. Stay cool in covered areas but also space for prime sun bathing. A large bar on the dock for daytime delights or lunch by the water. Plenty of room for your coolers behind the bar.

Bring your boat! There are two private boat ramps for you to use in Eaton Ferry Estates. You can then dock your water vehicles conveniently at our private boat house while you vacation at Sunset Cove Lake House.

You will love this peaceful cove, but the main lake is just seconds away. Located one cove away from Eaton Ferry Bridge, you can drive to lakefront restaurants or boat right over to enjoy dinner and live music. Food Lion, ABC store, Lake Gaston Coffee, Jenny Cakes at the Lake, Lake Gaston Pizza, Overby Marina, AE Wake Rentals, and much more just minutes away!!

Fantastic family vacation

They house was clean and had everything we could have possibly needed. The kitchen was very well stocked, plenty of towels. My grown children had so much fun just hanging out together playing games and laughing all night. I would highly recommend this lake house. We will be coming back to stay here.

Perfection!

We have rented many vacation houses over the years, our family all agreed this house is just perfection! Beautifully located, immaculately clean, generously filled kitchen, and an amazing game room. It was the perfect vacation home. We made some wonderful memories and already love this little home away from home!

Wonderful Lake Weekend

We had a simply wonderful time visiting Lake Gaston. The Sunset Cove house is in a great location, near restaurants and a grocery store. It’s spacious and comfortably decorated, with so many cute touches. The host was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed before and during our stay. We’re so appreciative of the hospitality, and the family memories we made at the lake. Thank you!!!

Perfect Lake Getaway

We had an incredible holiday weekend here! The home is PERFECT. Great location, clean, and includes all the amenities. We brought our boat and spent most days wakeboarding and evenings sitting on the dock fishing. The kids loved the basement/game room. Overall just a fantastic place. The owners were super communicative and helpful. We definitely would love to come back. Thank you Valerie!!!

Location, Location, Location

This is a beautiful property in a great location with deep water, conveniently located within a 5 minute boat ride to fuel, food and boat service if needed. We cannot say enough about the ease of the location and the private boat ramp within the community made this trip very easy to drop our boat and jet ski. The home itself has been updated as of late and shows well, we had multiple teenagers with us and they consumed the basement level which was perfect and allowed the adults to stay upstairs and create some separation. The hosts were readily available and easy to get a hold of. The house was clean and they had just built a new boat house that is amazing and allowed us the opportunity to fish for hours on end. We would absolutely rent this home again.

Perfect vacation getaway!

I cannot say enough great things about this property! We have stayed at other VRBO properties that have fallen short over the years. When I tell you this place is as advertised, I mean it! Kitchen is fully stocked there’s a Keurig and regular coffee pot, Plenty of pots pans, cutting boards, and dishes galore, which made dinner time nice and easy. There was also a working grill and firepit where smores were made each night. The game room downstairs was a huge hit as were all of the outdoor areas. Having dinner on the screened in porch each night with a delight. We had a great time watching the turtles in the cove, an playing on the Lillypad and floating in the lake. The boathouse was great!! The kayaks were a nice touch as well. We brought two and it was great that they had three others there for our use if we wanted them. Grocery store within 5 minutes, golf course within 20, great restaurants, and places to poke around. We would love to be able to come back next year.

GREAT STAY AT THE LAKE!

We were very pleased with Sunset Cove Lake House. It had everything we needed. Our group ranged from younger kids, early teens, older teens, and adults, and everyone loved it. The house is in a great location, literally minutes away from the famous food lion that everyone always ends up at for groceries while staying on the lake. You can see main lake from the dock, but you don't have to deal with the constant wake from boats passing by while relaxing on a float or simply floating with a life vest on. The game room was awesome; we played a lot of ping pong and pac man. We spent most of our time at the dock, which was large and perfect for everything from fishing to sunbathing to eating and sipping. But we also spent time at the outdoor patio (we used the fire pit and made smores!), and dinners in the large screened in porch. We had a wonderful time and Valerie was a great host. Everything was well thought out, including the extras like a trash bin and mini fridge at the dock. We would love to come back!

We had a great week (July 2025)! Perfect size house for our family of 6. House was well appointed and maintained. Excellent outdoor areas (boathouse and patio). Fun game room/tv room in basement. Good beds and baths. Loved location near Eaton Ferry Marina and mid-lake. One small downside is the shallow/mucky water off the dock, but you only have to go out a short way to get to great spots for swimming/floating, which we did all day. Owner was very responsive to all my messages, including an emergency service call to fix a/c mid-week (an easy fix). I recommend this house and would stay here again.

Perfect July 4th

I cannot say enough about this beautiful home. It is so well maintained and comfortable. It is beautifully decorated. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The home is stocked with everything you can possibly need.Hanging out on the covered dock was such a treat. There was plenty of seating for everyone. We loved having coffee in the morning and cocktails in the afternoon on the screened in porch. The homeowner was always quick to respond with thoughtful helpful messages. We will definitely be back. Great house in a great cove!

The house was incredibly clean and the beds were comfortable. We loved having fires in the fire pit and hanging out on the beautiful dock. The cove is nice and quiet, perfect for kayaking with the kayaks provided. It's also quick and easy to get to the main lake and the dock is a perfect place to park your boat. In addition to the house being fantastic, communication with Valerie was incredible. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

What a gem on Lake Gaston! This vacation rental was everything we hoped for and more. The beautiful views and peaceful setting in a secluded cove made it the perfect escape. We especially loved waking up to the sound of birds singing each morning—it was like nature’s own soundtrack. The huge screened-in porch on the second floor was a dream come true for my art projects—so much space, fresh air, and inspiring scenery. Whether you're looking for a family getaway or a quiet retreat for two, this spot checks all the boxes. Highly recommend!

Great fishing trip

Amazing family vacation

This was our first experience using Vrbo for a family vacation so we were pessimistic everything would work out perfectly...I was wrong. The owner provided amazing communication and details and check-in was simple. The property was super clean and inviting! We really appreciated the fact that everything in the house is quality e.g., comfort of beds, linens, kitchenware, etc. The boathouse provided plenty of room to relax and listen to music while fishing.
