SUITABLE FOR A MAXIMUM OF 8 TOTAL GUESTS (INCLUDING BABIES & CHILDREN), your home-away-from-home includes 5 beds in 3 bedrooms (king, 2 fulls & 2 queens on the top & bottom floors), 2 full bathrooms (on top & bottom floors) and middle floor communal space with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living area with a leather sectional sofa & electric fireplace, dining area with seating for 8 plus 3 additional counter stools, a half bathroom (no tub or shower) and a picturesque oceanfront deck with panoramic beach & ocean views, a gas grill, a dining table with seating for 4 and 3 chaise lounge chairs...perfect for reading, viewing talented surfers and the abundant sea life (dolphins, whales, seals & otters are a common sight!), bird watching, grilling, dining al fresco and soaking up the sun!

We are in close proximity to the lively & fun towns of Capitola & Santa Cruz, but are far enough away from the crowds...the perfect location for both an active and a relaxing coastal getaway! A FEW IMPORTANT NOTABLES BEFORE YOU REQUEST TO BOOK:

-California Dreamin' is a very well-kept vacation rental property (and our 2nd home) and is appropriate for guests who appreciate upscale, yet comfortable, accommodations and are conscientious and respectful while inhabiting a vacation rental home. We do have these expectations of our guests. If this is not your intention, then our home is not appropriate for you.

-BATH & BEACH TOWELS ARE NOT PROVIDED: Please bring your own bath & beach towels due to time constraints with our housekeeper. It is impossible to thoroughly clean & sanitize our home between guests, and launder bedding and towels for up to 8 guests, in a cost effective and timely manner (out of state guests may inquire about an optional towel service provided by our housekeeper at an additional cost). While we realize that this is an inconvenience, it is common practice in most of the rental properties in our complex.

-Please be aware that our home has 28 indoor stairs between the 3 floors and there are steps down to the beach as well. If you have mobility limitations and/or are traveling with young children, this may be a concern for you.

-We do kindly request that guests not wear outdoor shoes in our home (indoor slippers are perfectly fine). This helps immensely with keeping our carpeted areas clean between our biannual professional carpet cleaning appointments and is greatly appreciated.

-Because our home is in a townhome complex with a Homeowners Association, there are some rules that must be followed in our subdivision. Notably, all recyclables MUST be disposed of in the provided receptacles at the South end of our complex (we are on the North end) and not in our personal garbage cans, which have very limited space. This is both a county and HOA requirement, plus recycling is environmentally conscious! We choose to be candid about this, as it has been an issue for some guests in the past. If you find this offensive, then our home is not a good fit for you.

-When you enter CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' on the top floor, you'll be greeted by two spacious bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two fulls, both with wall mounted Xfinity/FireTV's, ceiling fans & individual heaters. Each has a window seat & gorgeous views of the sparkling ocean. There is one full bathroom with a tub/shower combo on this floor.
-Head downstairs to the 2nd level, open the sliding glass doors and step out onto the scenic oceanfront deck, equipped with a gas grill, 3 chaise lounges & a dining table with seating for 4 (and did we mention the breathtaking ocean view?!?!). On this floor you'll find a comfortable living room with a leather sectional, Xfinity/Fire TV, wine & cocktail cabinet with games, puzzles & binoculars, a telescope for viewing sea life, an electric fireplace which provides heat, a dining area with seating for 8 + 3 counter stools & a very well-equipped kitchen, all with panoramic ocean views! There is also a half bath on this level.
-Descend down the stairs to the bottom floor where we have 2 queen size beds, a black-out curtain divider between the beds for those who desire more privacy, a full bathroom with a walk-in shower and washer & dryer and a door that leads out to the catwalk and our direct beach access. For your convenience & enjoyment, you'll also find an assortment of beach gear down here (chairs, boogie boards, skim boards, a surfboard, fishing poles & more).

*A generous starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags & dishwasher pods is provided. Guests are responsible for additional supplies if the complimentary provisions run out.

*Dish soap, bathroom hand soap, shampoo & conditioner, body wash & laundry detergent are provided. We attempt to keep these full, but cannot make guarantees of this.

*A single serve Keurig, drip coffee maker & Nespresso machine are provided. Guests supply their own coffee options.

*An assortment of games & puzzles (located in the lower portion of our wine glass cabinet), binoculars & a telescope are provided for your enjoyment.

*All bed linens, kitchen dish towels & 1 hand towel & bathmat per bathroom are provided (guests provide their own bath & beach towels).

*Security cameras: For our protection and yours, we have 2 outdoor security cameras on premises (near our front entrance & on the downstairs catwalk), as do most homes in our complex. These cameras may not be covered, unplugged, repositioned or tampered with in any way. Please be assured that there are no cameras on the middle floor deck or indoors & your privacy is respected. We fully comply with VRBO’s policy on surveillance devices. If you take issue with this, then California Dreamin’ is not an appropriate property for you

RULES & EXPECTATIONS:

-No animals allowed, No exceptions, Due to host’s severe allergies (this includes service & emotional support animals).

-No smoking/vaping/drugs allowed; including indoors, on deck, on catwalk & near front door (smoking allowed only on beach or a minimum of 50 feet away from our front door & our neighboring units). Please respect our rules and do not put us in the awkward position of having to address this with you.

-No parties/events/large gatherings.

-STRICT MAXIMUM OF 8 TOTAL OVERNIGHT GUESTS (this includes babies & children). Social gatherings are limited to 10 people maximum and only between the hours of 8am-10pm

-Complex quiet hours are 10pm-8am, Please respect our neighboring units at all times

-Oversized, heavyweight trucks must park along the curb and not in our driveway, due to property weight limitations

-No campers, RV's, Trailers, etc allowed, per our HOA rules

-FIREWORKS, firepits, deep fryers, etc are strictly prohibited, as are BBQ grills (unless provided by home owner...this includes pellet, charcoal, propane and all other grills)

-Recycling must be walked or driven down to the provided receptacles at the South end of our complex. Excessive garbage must be taken to the nearby dump or home with guest (anything that doesn't fit in our outdoor garbage cans)

-We cater to guests who take great care of our home and are considerate of our neighbors, HOA & house regulations. We kindly ask that you remember that you are a guest in our home. We pride ourselves on being very kind and accommodating hosts, however we must have these rules in place to protect ourselves and our property. Your cooperation helps us to preserve the integrity and beauty of our home for all to enjoy and we are happy to share our beach home with respectful, considerate guests. We truly want you to have the best experience possible when you are a guest in our home and we appreciate you choosing California Dreamin' for your coastal getaway!

-$500 security deposit hold required to ensure that you take excellent care of our home. This will be released after our housekeeper inspects our home & linens
