About this property
COMFORTABLE LUXURY <br>Lake Michigan beaches sunsets lighthouses trails
The LAKE HOUSE
Enjoy this cozy Lake House experience with all the perks of modern amenities, comfortable luxury, maximized functionality and detailed touches.
The house is 2200 sq ft of exceptional comfort and design.
4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms provide ample space for 8 people.
Outdoor Deck
A 12’ x 34’ covered deck allows you to have a total outdoor living space with a view of the channel. Enjoy your morning coffee and relax with family. You may have outdoor meals, play
games, read a book, enjoy the many local birds or have an evening cocktail while watching the sunset light the skies over the channel, Lake Michigan and Muskegon State Park.
Absolutely stunning views of the channel (Lake Michigan to Muskegon Lake), the thousand foot ships, cargo ships, ferry and sailboats that glide by. You will see the peaceful view of the sand dunes of Muskegon State Park across the channel.
Kitchen and Dining Room
The home has an exceptional amount of light with an abundance of windows on all sides. Enjoy how roomy the great room and kitchen/dining room areas are. The kitchen is very well stocked. A cozy gas fireplace can be turned on for cooler evenings.
Beaches
Award winning white sand “clean” and groomed beaches are a very short walk. (Approximately 5 minutes). Pere Marquette is almost 3 miles of continuous white sand beach. There are two playgrounds-one on the way to the beach and one at the beach.
Muskegon Lake and a beautiful sandy beach is a 10 minute walk behind the house.
So many beach choices within short walking distance from the house.
Restaurants
There are two great restaurants;
The Deck-on the beach
Dockers-on the Marina, by Muskegon Lake. Both in 5-10 minutes walk from the house. Muskegon is known for it’s great local restaurants. A full list is available online and in the information binder at the house.
Bike and Walking Trails
Miles and miles of trails for both walking and biking. A favorite is the trail along Muskegon Lake or the trail through the Beachwood Dunes and Lake Michigan Boardwalk.
USS Silversides Submarine and Naval Museum
Great history and an excellent tour of both the museum and submarine (paid admission).
Ice Cream
One ice cream shop on the beach and three others within biking or a short car ride.
Paddle Board Rental
There are local places for bike rentals, kayak, paddle board and canoe liveries and even fishing charters or daily boat rentals.
Hoffmaster State Park and Lake Harbor Dunes
One of the amazing features of Michigan is the sand dunes. Learn a little about the dunes through the visitors center at Hoffmaster State Park and actually climb and run the dunes at Lake Harbor for a unique experience.
Silver Lake Dune Buggy Rides
At Silver Lake (1 hour north), ride a dune buggy for a great view of the miles of massive high dunes.
NOAA:Lake Conditions
Always be aware of lake and weather conditions. Lake Michigan is a beautiful but powerful lake. Check NOAA for rip tides and never swim within 150 ft of any structure or pier. When the waves are high, we often take the grandkids to Muskegon Lake. There are several web cams to check out the view on the beaches.

About the host
Hosted by Rose Dykstra

We built this home in 2011 as our dream beach home to be able to spend time with family and friends. We just love the uniqueness of this beach town, the many trails, lighthouses and piers, the boardwalks, the naval museum and actual world war ll submarine, the amazing and award winning white sand beaches, and fantastic local cuisine. It is just a beautiful place to live and explore.
Besides the swimming with family and grandchildren and walking along the beaches, my absolute favorite time is watching the glorious sunsets...the colors and views over Lake Michigan as it sinks into the lake is a gift.

Why they chose this property
The best aspects of this property are the views of the Muskegon Channel, all of the large ships, ferries, sailboats, Muskegon State Park Dunes, the easy walking to 2 lakes (Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake), the absolutely beautiful beaches, the year round walking and views. We have a very large, covered patio that we enjoy as an outdoor room to be able to enjoy so many parts of the day...coffee, meals, reading and game time, a glass of wine and watching the most beautiful sunsets.
What makes this property unique
5 minute walk to the first beach on Lake Michigan. another 5 minute walk to the next beach on Lake Michigan. Muskegon Lake is a 10 minute walk east of the house. Three lighthouses within those same distances.
