My three friends and I have been doing an annual guys trip for years. We started using Vrbo properties almost 10 years ago. We stay in 3 to 4 properties each year and this house is in all our top 5s. The house was clean and comfortable. The private back yard/deck are great for hanging around the house and the location had several places within walking distance to get food. If I’m ever in Crescent City again I will be looking to book this house

The property was not clean as expected (dirty floors and cobwebs), there were broken items (coffee maker, toaster, porch chair), and it is located on a busy street. Nice location to the redwoods and some house updates.

Short stay

We had a short stay in Crescent city wanted a place we could crash as a family of eight. Marshawn‘s home was perfect for what we needed. It had all the amenities and more and was close to shops and restaurants. Marshawn was quick to respond to any issues and made us feel comfortable in his home. We would definitely stay again thank you

Family road trip

Great stop before hitting the Redwoods. Clean, beautifully decorated and large rooms There was plenty of towels and little extras through the house. The host was quick to respond to any questions. My whole family highly recommends this VBRO

Such a great update of this lovely home. The more you stay in VRBOs, the more you appreciate the great ones—which this is. Our granddaughter LOVED the Diva room and the Alexa ability to announce to the rest of us. Such fun

Amazing home and great amenities!

This is the the best rental experience I have in regards to feeling like I’m in a welcoming hotel rather than someone else’s home. This house is newly renovated, furnished and decorated and it’s very well done. Fits the “Modern Vintage” name perfectly. Plenty of towels, dishes, etc. snacks and waters when you arrive. Lots of games, movies, and video games for kids. Very friendly and communicative owner. House is located right off the busy road, but it’s centrally located if you need that. We were very impressed with our stay.

Awesome experience!!!

We stayed here to visit Redwood National Park. Marshawn was so helpful- the check in and out process was seamless. The house itself is so comfortable and has everything- many amenities and supplies are already there for guests to use- so much more than what we’ve had at other VRBO properties. When I accidentally left our rental car lights on overnight, the neighbors alerted Marshawn and he went above and beyond to try to alert us as well to help us find some one to help jump start the car. I simply can’t recommend him or this home enough. We had a wonderful stay. We will be back if we are in the northwest again!!!

I'm torn on how to respond.

Here's my dilemma; The house was ok, but we had a nearly catastrophic issue. I booked this house for my wife and 4 of my elders to stay. When we arrived my aunt pointed out the downstairs bathtub wasn't clean and had a lot of hair in it and the floors in the kitchen were dirty. I thought she was being picky, but then another member pulled back the covers to find a lot and I'm not meaning 1 or 2 I mean like a lot a hair and debris all over the sheets and pillows. This led to everyone checking and I had to take pictures as every single bed had this issue. It took everything I had to keep them in the house as they wanted to leave and not deal with changing sheets and washing. I explained this to the owner and they apologized immediately. I explained my theory was the cleaning crew either overloaded the washer for all sheets to be covered like this or the washing machine may need to be changed out. Either way it's hard because all of us felt gross staying here and were not able to relax as everyone was then looking for every little thing wrong like the stairs not being to code (guessing) because the steps are not all the same height to the flooring not being finished in all areas with trim. I'm not going to destroy the owner with a 1- rating because that's what I felt like at the time listening to everyone go nuts on me for booking such a "gross" place, but I truly believe this was a one off and hope they work things out with the cleaning crew to change. Good luck

We enjoyed this property quite a bit. It is a great spot to access the redwood parks and beach. It’s in a more urban area, so there is some foot traffic and road noise, but nothing a fan couldn’t hide. Bonus of that is that you are walking distance to coffee shops, fast food, groceries and some cute restaurants. Overall, we found the host very responsive. Great place for families—came in October to find Halloween goodies and decor. My kids thought that was awesome! Also has very thoughtful set up with snacks and coffee. Sets you up for a great start.Thanks Marshawn!

Or stay was just one night as we were paying through. It was perfect for our needs! The house looked just like the pictures. There were many amenities with personal touches that were great. Music playing when we walked in, snacks for the kids, mints at the door, laser tag and video console. The kitchen was well stocked! Appliances were new. The beds were comfortable. Communication with the host was great!

We enjoyed staying here a few days with our kids. We arrived to jazz music playing and snacks in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and there is enough space in the house for everyone to enjoy a few days there. We grilled burgers for dinner one evening on the deck. The house is close to Highway but we used fans in the house to help with white noise at night to help. Nearby a lot of fun activities and not far from Trees of Mystery and State Parks, beaches, we drove to Gold Beach in Oregon and did a Jet Boat tour for a day and that was really fun. Beautiful area! We would love to come back and would stay again in this house.

This place was amazing and the host is exceptional. He made sure we had all the information we needed for our stay and also shared a lot of information about the town. It was easy finding a good spot to eat and some cool things for us and the kids to check out. Crescent City is a cozy little costal town. Our family loved how walkable it was and how much there was to explore. You won’t be disappointed with the property or your time spent in this wonderful little town. Great property owner

We did enjoy our stay in Crescent City for the most part. I would say highlights are the house is cute, great amount of space and close to anything city related (local fast food chains, for example). The property owner is fantastic and very responsive which made some minor issues we experienced a lot better.When we arrived to the location it wasn't cleaned very well. The property owner was quickly responsive on how we could solve the issue. One other item that wasn't great, was the location is in the middle of town and the environment around the house made us nervous to go out at night or leave the windows open for fresh air. I really do appreciate the owner taking care of us so quickly and kindly.

It has been a true blessing to own such a property. They say your not supposed to fall in love with a home when looking, but I did, with all of its hidden nooks, crannies, and vintage charm.
It truly has all the character and craftsmanship of a vintage home, yet felt surprisingly up to date, thus the name, The Modern Vintage. After making even more upgrades and modernizing the décor and amenities, it is truly my pleasure to share this home with you.
