The living room features a wood burning fireplace with gas starter, wood floors, two full leather sofas and an oversized leather chair with ottoman. The master bedroom has outside access to the deck and an en-suite full bath with walk-in shower. The bedroom is equipped with a king size bed and a 55” flat screen TV and DVD player.

The lower level is accessed from the lower drive way. After parking guests walk from their car directly onto the lower deck and enter the lower family living room through sliding glass doors. On this floor are three bedrooms and a kitchenette equipped with refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker.

The first bedroom features a king size bed and may be described as a secondary master bedroom with access to the lower deck and a shared en-suite bathroom with tub/shower that has access from the living area.

An baker’s pantry is located in the kitchenette area and contains a variety of games, puzzles and an additional DVD movie library.

About the host

Hosted by Steve & Angie Bailey

Host profile image
Steve and Angie purchased Lone Star Lodge after their east coast based daughter and husband had their first baby (and their fourth grandchild). Having a vacation place for family gatherings seemed like a pretty smart move given Steve’s impending retirement (Angie has been retired for a few years now).

Steve began his career in the Marines almost forty years ago in Jacksonville, North Carolina and has had a deep fondness for North Carolina ever since. When he left active duty in 1986 he promised to come back and here we are. We call it Lone Star Lodge because of the obvious Texas connection and because the street naming protocol follows an astronomical paradigm...and because it seems like a fun name!

Why they chose this property

Cool temperatures, low humidity, amazing views, four seasons, and plenty of things to do or to do nothing at all!

What makes this property unique

Peace and quiet. Plenty to do...or do nothing at all.
