The location was great. The amenities were decent. Some kitchenware (pots and pans) could use updating but overall was exactly as advertised. The sunrise views over the ocean were incredible every morning. I would come back again!

Great location! Amazing ocean view with lanai overlooking ocean! Such fun watching chickens and egrets! Just a few steps to a bench next to cliff overlooking ocean! Wonderful for a couple! Notes for improvement: laundry facilities are not in-room; they are in the next building. This was accurately mentioned in listing, but I must have missed it…That’s on me. There are hookups in-room, but I guess the owner chose not to install a washer/dryer— this would definitely be great since we were in the ocean daily. So, I would recommend bringing 2 swimsuits. We hand-washed items for the first several days, since we only brought enough clothes for 4 days due to airline baggage limitations. Also, I was wondering if there are outdoor showers anywhere on the property. We couldn’t find any, but perhaps we missed them. Considering many of the trails (even the trail onsite to the beach) are often extremely muddy, one would expect the complex to have exterior showers to keep the rooms clean. The WiFi didn’t work the entire time we were there, and cell service is extremely spotty. This made it difficult to plan out our days, but more importantly, there was a tropical storm blowing through, and I didn’t have access to weather info unless The management company was extremely attentive and quick to respond to any issues, but we were unable to resolve this during our stay. The are going to try to fix this issue. All in all, it was a great stay for the price and location!

No washer and dryer despite the description that it was fully equipped. There had been both but all that remained was a rusty panel where they had been plumbed in. We would have had to go to another building and pay to use the laundry equipment. The fridge and freezer doors are rusty. The bath tub is chipped and stained. The dining table is small. The cleaners had done a good job preparing for our arrival. We will not be staying here again.

However, we do clearly disclose in both our property description and check-in instructions (sent out 7-10 days in advance) that this unit does NOT include a washer or dryer, and that guests will need to use the laundry room in the adjacent building. The code to the laundry room is also prominently displayed in the check-in instructions, and we provide several sachets of complimentary laundry detergent to improve the experience for our guests. We regret that you overlooked these details when booking, and we encourage all future guests to carefully read all provided information before booking/arrival to avoid any unpleasant surprises. We will be sure to address the issues with the refrigerator and bathtub with our maintenance team ASAP, and we appreciate you letting us know where to direct our efforts. This property was less than expected and less than represented. There was rust on the front doors of the fridge/freezer, soiled blankets covering a soiled day bed and couch. Window blinds over the day bed that didn’t work; one stuck open, one closed. Blue tape on the levelored windows by the front door. Tissue in the corner of the sliding glass door to the lanai. Coffee table was flimsy/cheap and not the same as the online photos; that coffee table had been moved into the closet. The bathroom/toilet smelled like it was leaking sewage. There was no shampoo/conditioner or body soap. No washer and dryer although everyone else I spoke to had them in their unit. I didn’t need one except to wash the extra linens I used beyond two sets of bath towels. Now I face an additional cleaning charge. I was confronted by a cleaning lady and her intimidating husband upon check out because we were running late. A text message told me he was there to protect her and that we needed to “vacate” the property. This is just a little bit of my disappointment. There were some other strange things that I observed while staying there that would not make me comfortable to stay there again or recommend.

While we always take guest feedback seriously, this review contains numerous claims that are inconsistent with our inspection records, and reflect inappropriate racial stereotyping. The guest was asked to leave the unit when the cleaners arrived 90 minutes past the scheduled checkout time, and found the property had not yet been vacated. This was simply a routine communication required to avoid delaying the next guests, and was only necessary due to the communicated checkout time being blatantly ignored. The "intimidating husband" in question is also the cleaner's business partner, and simply looks like an island local. If people of color with traditional tattoos are "intimidating" to our guests, we encourage them to consider vacationing elsewhere. Additionally, the unit was inspected and photographed before arrival, and none of the cleanliness or maintenance issues described were present. More importantly, none of these concerns were reported to us at any point during the reservation, leaving us with no opportunity to investigate or address them. These allegations were first made only after the guest remained in the unit for approximately 90 minutes past checkout and was asked to vacate the property. The statement regarding a washer and dryer is also inaccurate. This property has never been advertised as having an in-unit washer and dryer, and the listing clearly states that only the coin-operated laundry facilities are available. We encourage prospective guests to review the listing carefully, including the amenities provided. We remain committed to maintaining the property to a high standard and addressing any legitimate concerns promptly when they are brought to our attention.

Wonderful stay at Sealodge

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. We were worried about no ac in August but the coastal breezes and fans kept us cool. The place had everything we needed and the friendly managers made it feel homey!

Location is fantastic, sometimes pictures make things look better than they are but in this case the pictures don't do the view justice. Excellent view of the ocean beautiful place to watch the sunset. The condo is nice for two people. My only suggestion would be to update the bathroom area. It's not as nice as the rest of the condo but certainly sufficient. We had a great time and enjoyed to stay

Great Location

My wife and I loved the property. A couple things I would do to make it a better stay. The bed was very uncomfortable and hard in some spots. We didn’t get a comfortable nights sleep. I would fix the curtain rod and draperies, especially in the bedroom. The curtains wouldn’t close so there was no privacy in the evening. Other than that, we loved it! Hopefully next year we can book it again.

This was our second year staying here. This year, we unfortunately had much louder neighbors than the previous year, with people stomping above us during quiet hours (9pm-8am) and people talking loudly on their patio below us at 4AM which was super inconsiderate, rude, disrespectful, and downright idiotic. We both woke up very bothered by all the noise that the fans couldn't drown out and we had to close our window just to try to go back to sleep so we had to sacrifice listening to the ocean waves that we paid for. There were also tiny ants that we experienced inside the property this time that we did not experience last year. We love this place for the price and ocean view, but I don't think we can stay here again due to the thin walls and ants.

Stay on North Side Kauai

Pros: great view, clean, close to nice beaches and hikes. Well stocked with laundry detergent, soap, towels, spices, cooking utensils, and beach gear. Bring your own snorkeling gear. Cons: pool was closed entire stay & listed in small print. We had construction across the hall on a renovation the last two nights (lots of bad language from workers), terrible mattress that needs replaced (feel the springs), low water pressure resulted in a constant squill while showering.

The pool closure is disappointing, we've been frustrated with the length of time they've had it closed, but do expect it to be back in service sometime in late July or early August! We weren't warned about any construction work, and would just advise future guests to let us know right away. While we can't stop them working (owners have a right to update their properties) we can certainly let the complex manager know if the workers are behaving inappropriately such as using bad language or playing music too loudly while working. We'll check the mattress right away.

I absolutely love this location. We were in unit B6 for Toddstock75 and it was great because there are only a few steps down from the parking area to get to our unit. The view of the ocean is exactly what it showed in the ad. Waking at 5:30 each morning to go down to the grassy area with our coffee to watch the spectacular surprises every morning. Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a lovely stay st the Sealodge. The property and the views are amazing. It is a little out of the way (you need a car) but we knew that when booking it and purposely were seeking the peace and quiet. The check in and out was easy and the host was very prompt in replying to some minor questions we had. The apartment itself was nothing special, but it was clean and had everything we needed. My only complaint is that the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. A small price for a lovely vacation spot! Loved it, would stay again.

Spectacular View

The view was amazing! The unit quite old, not a lot of updates. The sliding windows and doors were difficult to open. The slider had a huge gap at the top and I had maintenance come to fix it. The plumbing was just plain super loud! I also found dirty dishes in the cupboard. When I phoned the office they were very accommodating. In spite of the drawbacks I would stay there again.

Tips

Talked to the management co. twice and informed them we needed more than 2 towels, due to the humidity, and not drying overnight. Never got a pool key. also informed management of this. Really should invest in a washer/dryer, they're not that expensive, & you could get more money per night. It's a hassle to get quarters,, and go twice a week for laundry. Also need more than 2 small size soaps. It's little things like this that keep this property from being a 5 star.

We're confused. In our pre-arrival inspection photos, the pool key on a big 5" square red plastic tag is clearly visible on the end table, where we leave it for guests. There were extra bath towels on the shelf directly above the beach towels, but we'll talk to the housekeeper about leaving a more generous supply.
