Welcome to The Escape located in the center of Corolla. Walking distance to everything! Tucked away in the Monteray Pines community with a central location surrounded by shops, restaurants, activities and a 10 min walk to the beach. The Escape is a relaxing, comfortable and family friendly home with ease to get around the area.

The Escape is on the top floor with extra privacy and has 2 peaceful bedrooms and 2 tiled bathrooms.

The largest bedroom has a King sized bed with a connected full bathroom. 100% cotton premium bedding. 55in Smart TV. Bedroom closet: Available for use: exercise equipment (a yoga mat, dumbbells (sets of 6,10 and 15lbs), sliders and resistance loops); Pack n Play with bassinet and changing table; Pack n Play sheets; SpaceSaver High Chair.

The hall bedroom has a bunk bed that includes a Twin XL over a Queen sized bed with a Twin XL trundle below. All new mattresses. 100% cotton premium bedding. Bathroom is located across the hall from the bedroom. 50in Smart TV.

Each bedroom has a sound machine and USB charging stations. Ceiling fan in King bedroom. Table fan in bunk room.

The full size washer and dryer are located in the hall between the bedrooms.

The rest of the space includes an open, newly renovated living, dining and kitchen area. Living area includes a queen sized pull out sofa bed with an upgraded foam mattress. Dining area seats 8 people comfortably with 2 benches and 3 chairs.

The condo is family friendly with baskets of toys, books and games.

The outdoor balcony faces the East for beautiful sunrises and is complete with a bistro set with 2 chairs for morning coffee, outdoor dining or to enjoy some sunshine. *It does overlook the parking lot as you can see in the photo

The Escape is a quick walk or bike ride to the Timbuck II, Lighthouse Bagels, Dunkin Donuts, Dairy Queen, Bernie's Brother Tropical Grill and Bar, Food Lion and more. Dolphin Street Beach Access is a quick half mile away.

Enjoy a boutique experience with all new furnishings. The Escape bedrooms and bathrooms are complete with towels, bed linens and a supply of paper products to start your vacation. Each bathroom includes 2 rolls of toilet paper, Meyers hand soap and bath wash, sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner and hair dryers. Turkish beach towels are included to ease the vacation packing.

The kitchen is prepped for all of your cooking needs plus 1 roll of paper towels, 2 trash bags, 1 sponge, dish soap, 1 dishwasher tablet, cleaning supplies, cooking utensils and an assortment of coffee, tea and spices.

The laundry area has 1 detergent pod, stain remover, bleach pen, laundry tote basket and dryer sheets.

Balcony closet provides all the beach necessities: 4 beach chairs, a beach umbrella, beach wagon and light beach tote bags, beach toys, 2 boogie boards and 2 skim boards. Bikes are available for rent within walking distance, across the street.

We loved our stay at The Escape OBX! Karol is an excellent host. She was very responsive to questions and really thought of all the “extras” to make our stay easy and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped with cooking tools/appliances and spices, etc. And we loved not needing to pack all our beach things. Beach chairs, cart, boards and towels were all available for use during our stay. We would definitely stay again — very clean and comfortable!

Condo is Clean and everything is new appearing and up to date. Grocery store and Shopping center are across the street which was nice. The building was quiet at night and the owner responded quickly. We had a nice long family wknd. We went to a delicious local seafood place to eat that I highly recommend called Mama Easley’s. Thank you for having us.

Lovely place

Everything was clean and new. Host seemed to have thought of everything. Wonderful soaps and shampoos there for us. Kitchen had all we needed and more. Great layout and, though it was only my spouse and me, it’s perfect for a small family.

Very nice condo. Clean, nicely decorated, convenient to TimBuckII shopping, restaurants, etc. We had a couple hiccups, which the owner corrected. We were not able to access the keyless entry. We called the owner, who indicated it sticks sometimes. The code was re-set and worked fine after. I appreciate the owner's efforts to provide a Boutique experience, however, the property was lacking the below as described in the listing.1-While breakfast is not included everyday, granola bars/ pancake mix/ fruit cups/ oatmeal/ Starbucks Coffee/ Tazo Tea will be provided upon arrival; (There was none of this, nor paper plates);2- No ceiling fan in 2nd bedroom bc of top bunk (suggest providing a table top fan to help air circulation); 3 - Baskets of books/toys/games for kids- there were a couple small toys/board games but not an abundance. Families with kids should bring add;'l);4 - The outdoor balcony is tiny and overlooks the parking lot and another condo building. Not ideal for beach sunrise if that's your thing. You can only fit 2-3 people max. Bistro table is tiny w/ 2 chairs - maybe big enough for coffee, but not al fresco dining for 2; and no lounge chair, nor would one fit; 5 - Beach accessories - no beach wagon (a dolly w/ bungies and flat tire); low sand chairs, beach towels are more like throw blankets (may want to bring your own)6 - No luxury hand soaps, body washes, lighted mirror; robes; Salon shampoo/conditioner 7 - WiFi password wrong; couldn't connect

quick getaway

I had a nice quick getaway with my kiddos for the July 4th weekend. The condo is fresh and decorated nicely. There were a good amount of activities for kids, including boogie boards, which my 8 year old loved. As expected with a condo, you can hear people being rowdy, especially on a holiday weekend. Initially, there was no TP or towels in the mater bath. I found more towels in the kids bedroom, and would've rather the property manager drop more by while I wasn't there alone with my kids at night, but he was nice enough. Overall, my kids had a great time. First time to Corolla and I'm a fan.

Amazing amenities!

We loved staying here and all the personal touches. I’ve never stayed at a VRBO that had so many nice touches. From the welcome snacks, the high chair, noise machines, hair dryer, q-tips, beach toys, and quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash, this place was awesome. Some places really go for lower end products but here, you really feel pampered! Our ONLY complaint about this property has NOTHING to do with the property or the owners but rather the location. And it’s not misleading or anything like that. It’s just an apartment community and wasn’t the nicest. The apartment under us had a party until after 2 am one night. Wasn’t too loud in the bedrooms but was very audible in living areas. People were hanging out in the parking lot, someone out Revving their motorcycle at 1 am one night.. just things like that. During the day, seemed like perfectly friendly place but at night, not that I felt afraid, but I didn’t feel 100% comfortable either. I would probably return just because of proximity to beach (not really walkable but close enough) and because of how nice the property was itself. Owners are great and very easy to communicate with.

Great stay with amazing comforts and decor. It really helped having so many little details thought of from snacks to soaps to laundry to trinkets. Beautiful and well kept clean place. And to not be charged for everything I used such as soaps and a couple snacks. That was just so thoughtful and sweet. Owner definitely took it to a whole new level and it was amazing. Great Experience!

From our first contact to our final farewell, our experience with Karol and her Kozy Condo exceeded our expectations! When our flight was cancelled Karol graciously allowed us to shift our travel plans by a day. Her home offers every amenity you can think of as well as some additional ones that simply bring it to another level. There was a lovely gift waiting for us as well as snacks and beverages to nibble on while getting settled in. Clean, bright and Cozy! We would most definitely stay again if traveling to the area.

Wonderful place for a family vacation. Owner was super accommodating and easy to work with. Everything you could possibly need was at the condo- from coffee to shampoo to beach chairs…more than I have ever seen a rental provide, and I have stayed at TONS of rentals. She even left us a basket full of goodies and a sweet gift. :) The home immaculate and decorated beautifully!! Would stay here again.

A cozy and very well equipped condo for a Corolla get-away!

The host and property were fantastic. Every last detail was thought of by the host, making for a wonderful experience. Everything you need is basically provided. The interior is new and clean. The amenities were excellent. All the provided games and beach equipment were awesome for our family regardless of the weather. Things like the boardgames and video games helped pass the time when a major rainstorm came through. Location is good, with a 10 minute walk to the beach. Would absolutley stay again!!!

Cozy Condo was perfect for our family

Overall, we loved our time at The Escape! My kids LOVED the bunk beds and TV in their room. We loved how clean and cozy the condo felt. The inside of the condo is beautiful. Karol puts a lot of attention into making sure her guests feel comfortable. The location of the condo was convenient in that we could access stores/the road easily but at times was challenging with the kids. We also had some challenges with other guests outside of the condo (which Karol obviously can’t control and appreciated the noise machines). Overall, a great trip and we are grateful for Karol’s thoroughness and thoughtfulness to ensure our trip was smooth.

Everything you need

Five family members enjoyed the weeks stay - Mom, dad, 12 yr old boy, 12 yr old girls and grandma. We were close to everything we needed and our owner supplied us with everything we needed for the condo. Top of the line. We enjoyed the beach even though our weather was no the best. High winds and rain caused rough serf and rip tides.

Great place for the family

I love to travel with my kids and to stay in spaces that are comfortable and that provide many amenities. I have tried to provide as many amenities as possible because I know it is needed when travelling with families and friends. I am looking forward to sharing our space with other couples and families. I am especially excited about the feedback and ways to improve the property and the experience.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property after my second child was born to share the beauty of the area and relaxed feel of the town with our family. We grew up in Richmond, Va and would escape to the OBX for a peaceful getaway during our childhoods. We have transformed this space to share that experience with others.

What makes this property unique

The best part of this cozy condo is the location! It is right in the center of everything with the ability to walk to all of the places. Beach access is within walking distance, across Rt 12 on Dolphin Street. Need something from the grocery store? You can walk across the street. Want a night out at a nice restaurant? You can walk to Timbuck II.

Also this condo is on the top floor, providing a little extra peace of not having people above and no worries of people on the upper balcony.
