About this property

The Eggscape

We are also in search of a traveling professional to stay at The Eggscape. We would like a month to month with a 90 day max tenant(s). However, we can also rent it for shorter terms as the perfect vacation destination.

Want to relax after a long shift and enjoy your hard earned days off? Look no further! This house is the perfect fit. Located on a quiet county road, this home is a quaint county cottage. The house is approximately 1100 square feet.
Fully furnished with 2 roomy bedrooms and a VERY large walk-in closet. The closet is SO big it contains a vanity and sofa! The sofa even pulls out for a twin bed for an extra guest. The kitchen comes fully stocked with all the essentials needed to be a master chef or grill expert. The cozy living area has gas logs to keep you extra warm. Sit in the rocker with a good book and put your feet up on the hearth. The house is one floor that is accessible throughout. You have to go through the main bedroom to get to the second that is set up with children in mind. There is a semi-private office space if you work from home. The bathroom is large with a walk-in shower. This space also serves as the laundry room with a stacked washer/drying, separate utility sink and large closet. As you enter/exit the home, you go through a 3 season-porch that contains a large utility closet complete with an extra full size refrigerator.
Out back there is a new custom deck with a dedicated grill, dedicated gas firepit table, dining table and cedar benches. There is also a smaller deck off the second bedroom with a table and chairs.
The property is just minutes from Hanging Rock State Park. There you can hike, fish, kayak or canoe the day away. You could also tour the Yadkin Valley wineries for a fun day trip. Well within an hour you could be in Mayberry, the Blue Ridge Parkway, historic Old Salem or Pilot Mountain. If you bring your bike or kayak, we have a dedicated storage space for them. But the real charm of this place is the quiet retreat of a place to rest at the end of your day.
Please note, while the home may be more of a drive to the hospitals than other listings, this country retreat is worth the distance!
All utilities, including mowing, landscaping, and trash collection are included in the monthly fee.

Comfortable and welcoming stay in North Carolina!
We had a wonderful stay at The Eggscape in rural North Carolina. The host went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and accommodate our family. It felt like being in a home away from home. Plenty of entertainment for our children and some great local recommendations from our hosts for our stay. We had a wonderful time and would love to return in the future.

A Perfect Escape
We absolutely loved our time at Eggscape. Katie was an excellent communicator and answered all questions thoroughly and promptly. The home was warm and inviting and gave us a comfortable space to gather and enjoy family time. The personal family touches made it a wonderful home away from home. The beds were comfy and the kitchen well stocked. Inside, we spent time enjoying the gas log fireplace. Outside, the large deck overlooking the woods gave a sunny spot to relax during the day and we gathered around the firepit at night. Nestled on a secluded road and away from lights, don’t forget to look up at the stars.

Our rentals are located on the family land we call Tedderfarm. The land was once a working tobacco and chicken farm, hence the name! The Eggscape was originally built in the late 40's It has always belonged in the family. We acquired it in the late 90's and renovated it for my husband's mother.
My husband and I are both retired. We spend most every nice day outside working around the property. We live on the same quiet county road. We personally manage and maintain the properties.

Why they chose this property

The Eggscape is located on over 40 acres of family owned property. We maintain all of it. Our home is located at the very end of the road with both rentals just a short walk away. This home lends a very warm, comfy, cozy vibe. There is a brand new, very large deck outside that is perfect for entertaining or just a quiet night listening to the crickets and tree frogs.

What makes this area so inviting is the location. You can
1. Be at the top mountains within minutes
2. Spend hours tubing on nearby rivers
3. Visit historical landmarks here in Stokes County or all neighboring counties
4. Go for a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway
5. Tour local wineries and vineyards
6. Shop at one of the largest malls in NC within 30 minuets

We have long term rented both properties. Our tenants were actually nurses who worked in Winston Salem! However, both homes have recently been updated, fully furnished and prepared with the professional traveler in mind. We are located in the country community of Quaker Gap outside of King, NC. While we may be a bit farther from the hospitals than other places, no other can compare to the serenity you will have at a Tedderfarm home.

What makes this property unique

What makes our properties unique is that they are right across the road from each other. So if you are traveling for vacation with extended family or friends, you could rent both homes. Please check our other listing for The B's Nest. When our world returns to "normal" we will once again consider hosting events on the property. In the past, we have hosted weddings, receptions, graduation parties, baby showers and birthday parties. In addition to The Eggscape and The B's Nest, we also have The Cabin that can accommodate a couple extra guests you may have.
However you choose to stay, you are sure to find life at Tedderfarm is relaxing, yet never boring but also fun and entertaining without the hassle.
