Welcome to Woodland Pointe; a true taste of the best that coastal Maine has to offer. This 3BR, 2BA home has over 2000 sq ft of open living space. Situated on 20 extremely private acres of woodlands. It overlooks more than 600 feet of panoramic shoreline on Holmes Bay that you’ll have all to yourself. Classic Northeastern Cape architecture meets modern amenities in this comfortable, cozy retreat. Purposefully situated on the banks of Holmes bay, you’ll enjoy watching the daily tidal movement and revel in the evening sunsets. Wildlife abounds both on the land and in the water with plenty of deer, turkeys, waterfowl, crustaceans and even the occasional moose.
Located a short drive from both Cutler and Machias, this property offers the best of both worlds – far enough away from civilization to enjoy the wooded serenity, yet close enough to head to Hannafords for some groceries or to dinner in town. This secluded home has a large deck that offers quiet and stunning views of sunsets, migratory birds, and the scenic rocky bay. The home is direct waterfront on the coast, with unending views of the ocean with steps that take you down shore for beach combing. With the natural beauty of the surrounding area, you will be able to stay connected to the rest of the world with cable and TV’s in every bedroom. Mesh Wi-Fi and high speed internet is available throughout the house. There is a bedroom on the first floor connected to a full bath, and both bedrooms on the second floor (one king bed, one queen bed) have daybeds for children and a bathroom complete with Jacuzzi hot tub and dual vanities. With a sofa bed in the living room, this home can comfortably sleep 10 people.

We had a fantastic stay! The house was clean, quiet and comfortable and waking up to a fresh sea breeze every morning was energizing. We went swimming nearly every day and took several area hikes. We also loved the proximity to Canada, and did a day trip to Campobello Island. Our only complaint: We couldn't stay longer! We can't wait to come back.

Just as advertised!

From seeing the turkey cross the driveway at the turkey crossing sign and then getting to watch the Doe eating grass from the lawn and then posing for a pic from the front door, what a great location!! We won't hesitate to stay here again when in the area.

Amazing retreat

This was a perfect, private getaway. The views were absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunset and the only neighbors we saw were a couple wandering turkeys. The house is extremely well kept with some of the most plush carpets I've ever felt. I will definitely try to stay here again, hopefully in the summer to enjoy the rocky beach below!

We love Maine summers and Jenny's home is perfect for our family. We look forward to the relaxation and getting away from things for a while. The view out the numerous windows and doors in the back towards Holmes Bay is spectacular. You can see the tides come in and out and the view faces almost due west for great sunset views every evening. The home has all the supplies we need to be comfortable for the week. I'd recommend the home for any family looking for a quiet escape to nature.This was our second consecutive year staying here and we've already booked again for next year! That should tell you all you need to know as to what we think of this home! We're looking forward to next year already.

Beautiful Place

We had a terrific stay at this home. It is located directly on the water with 2 different decks to enjoy the view and stairs to the shore. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated with all the items you would need. Next time we're back in this area we will be staying again. Great place!

This house has it all and more, from a pancake griddle and ice cream scoop, to plenty of tissues and toilet paper, to puzzles and marshmallow roasting sticks, to all items needed for cooking lobster and other meals. It had everything we could possibly have needed. The property manager was very responsive when we discovered that the disposal wasn’t working and got it fixed within a day.

Woodland Pointe Retreat

The peace and quiet, the sound of the water ebbing and flowing, the well-stocked and comfortable home all made for a magical vacation! The owners are wonderful to work with and added to our enjoyment. It was our second stay at Woodland Pointe and we are making plans for stay #3!!

A great reset

We had a great stay unfortunately it rained most of the time but the kids enjoyed the games there but when we did get some sun we enjoyed clamming and a good hike but definitely a lot of relaxing

Did not realize heaven could be so close

Cutler Getaway

My husband and I, along with 2 friends and their dog, enjoyed our week at your Cutler home. The location couldn't be better. We were able to visit our favorite spots and found some new favorites as well. Everythng we needed for a week away was available. Thank you for your hospitality!

Elbow Room!!

We were 9 people travelling. The house easily accomadated us, with lots of elbow room. The view was spectacular and the clamming boots turned out to be be a absolute necessity with the kids at low tide.

Absolutely accurate "Woodland Retreat"

The property is 500% as listed; private, in the woods, steps down to ocean, spacious and comfortable. We are a family of 4, loved the puzzles, foosball, outdoor space and indoors had everything we needed. We had a fun power outage adventure due to high winds. Jenny responded immediately with where to find flashlights and a timeframe of when it would be back on. Highly recommend this property, we never wanted to leave the house!

Great vacation to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary

We enjoyed watching tide go out and come back in. Did a little clam digging in the bay. Very relaxing. Next visit will have to be during Lobster season we would have enjoyed watching lobster boats and eating lots of Lobster. Overall we enjoyed our stay and our dog Louiee enjoyed the outdoors. I have stayed at many rentals over the past 40 years but this ranks amongst the finest. Serene and secluded. The owner has provided everything that you would need. Sunsets lighting up the living room! Spacious and nicely designed. A home to make memories in.

Relaxing stay with gorgeous bay views

My wife, daughter and I had a restful and relaxing stay. The house has a beautiful view of Holmes Bay out the back windows. We loved curling up with books on the couches by the back windows that overlook the bay. We also really enjoyed the Adirondack chairs on the platform in the back overlooking the bay. We saw some incredible sunsets and saw a bald eagle fly across the bay from trees near the house. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed hiking on the many trails in the area and visiting Campobello Island. My wife is already planning a trip to return next summer!

Second Visit

From the first visit before covid I have been trying to stay at this house again as it was perfect for my family. I am 87 so knew the downstairs bedroom and bath was perfect for me and also knew there were extra beds in the other bedrooms. So this year it was my daughter and her husband and another daughter with her daughter. I enjoyed the new deck and watched the tides and knew I would be happy to just stay there if the others wanted to do something I was not able to do.

Amazing

The house is amazing, the best we have stayed at on VRBO. It has huge windows and lots of light. Everything one could need was provided including dog coverings for the many wonderful couches and dog bowls. The pancake mix and Maine blueberry syrup made for great breakfasts. We felt comfortable allowing the dogs to roam the property because of the amount of surrounding land. They did upset the wild turkeys, which I'm sure they enjoyed much more than the turkeys did. Overall a beautiful house in a beautiful location! One little suggestion would be a hammock for outdoor naps.

Perfect place to relax on the water.

We had an incredible stay at this charming summer house in Maine! The home is not only comfortable and cozy but also exceptionally well-stocked with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The location is simply unbeatable — right on the water with stunning views of the bay that took our breath away every morning. One of the highlights of our stay was watching seals play from the deck. We even kayaked out to them, which was an unforgettable experience! The rocky beach was perfect for fishing and launching our kayaks. It truly felt like a private retreat, yet all the best outdoor activities were right at our doorstep. The house itself is beautifully maintained and thoughtfully equipped, making it easy to settle in and enjoy from the moment we arrived. If you're looking for a peaceful and picturesque escape with all the comforts of home, this is the place to be. We can't wait to come back!
