About this property
Charming Downtown CB Home with Amazing Access
Newly renovated historic house in a great location in downtown CB with a relaxed, contemporary vibe. (Town of Crested Butte Business License #008562)
Amazing location! You'll be two blocks from the west end of Elk Ave (main street) on the quiet, sunny side of town. The house is 1 block from mountain biking and hiking trails, 2 blocks from groomed Nordic ski trails, and only a few blocks to the bus stop, where you can catch the free bus to Mt. CB and the ski area. The restaurants on Elk are minutes away on foot, bike, or car, as are shops and groceries.
This historic home was built in 1925 and remodeled in 2020. It has lots of natural light, a newly redone bathroom, kitchen, and more. The floor plan is great for a family or friends to get away, get outside and relax. The spacious, sunny front porch is ready for relaxing at the end of the day. There is a large fenced yard and a shed for ski gear and bikes.
The kitchen has new appliances and is set up for cooking and eating at home. We have a good selection of kitchen items, spices, oils, etc. and tend towards organic when possible. We try to have an assortment of high quality teas, cocoa, condiments, and other items that you are welcome to use.
The house is set up to work away from home. There are 2 desks, one of which is an electric standing desk, and external monitors for work or streaming. High-speed internet. No TV, but you can use the external monitor to stream from your computer.
Parents of young children - the stairs are a bit steep and can't be baby-gated at least at the bottom, and the main heat source is a gas-fired stove. If you are visiting with small children, please consider if this is the right place for your family.
We are happy to share local concierge service references on request.

Perfect location to everthing…trails, elk street, shops & restaurants. The home was very organized and had everything we needed. Very clean and updated. Michelle always reached back with me if I had any questions. Will definitely stay here again.

Glad you had a great time!
We always love seeing photos of people enjoying Crested Butte, thanks for sharing.
This property is a classic CB mining home, which retains all it's original charm as well as lovely updates. The location is excellent- central to town and trails- but far enough away from Elk Avenue to be quiet. The hosts were fantastic, with excellent communication and accommodating a few date changes along the way. We will definitely be back!

My family and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend and had another great time! The house had everything we needed and we loved the fact we could ride the two bikes around CB. The owners are so responsive and helpful. We'll be back again!

So great to have you stay again! Thanks for enjoying our place - the bikes are getting a 'tune-up' this winter ;-).
We come to CB every July for the past 8 years and this has been our favorite property so far . Great location near Elk Ave. Nicely redone inside with all the little extras. Great communication with the owners. We will be back!

So glad you had a good stay, and for your kind words. Looking forward to hearing from you for your next trip!
This in-town home is in a great location in downtown Crested Butte. It is clean, great updates, and exactly as described. The location is close to everything but also quiet and private. We've rented many different properties and this one is top notch! It has everything you need to enjoy your stay in Crested Butte.
This house is great. The downstairs is completely updated and the location is terrific. It’s close enough to Elk street to walk to any restaurant/bar in town.

This house is too cute and we were SO happy with it! We loved the upgrades and reading about the history of the home. The towels were super soft, the heated bathroom floor was amazing and it’s in an amazing quiet location. It was perfect for me, my husband and our 3 month old.

About the host

We first moved to the Gunnison Valley in the late '90s and fell in love with Crested Butte and the surrounding mountains, rivers, and valleys. There's so much to love: the views, the trails, the wildflowers, the historic downtown, the snow, the steeps, the fantastic nordic trail system, the unique sense of place and the fun-loving spirit that abounds. Having this wonderful home right in town is a dream of ours. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
In our humble opinion this location is the best!!! It's just outside the hubbub of Elk Ave. but has fantastic accessibility to just about everything the valley has to offer. In the winter, the central location means you can choose not to drive or deal with crowded parking during your stay - you can walk or bus almost everywhere you need to go. In the summer, you can walk or ride to the coffee shop and hop on the trails right from the house.
What makes this property unique
The historic house with its 3 iconic sheds is liable to charm you, while the interior is comfortable and contemporary. It feels light and relaxing inside. It's not a big house but is a wonderful space to relax, play, or work.
