About the host

Hosted by Vicki and Darrel Reddick

Host profile image
Darrel and Vicki reside in Eureka Springs, Arkansas where they both grew up and went to school. Marrying in1992. Darrel, since 1984, is an Electrical Contractor/ Well pump installer by trade. He was born and raised around Holiday Island and is a native Arkansan. Darrel comes from many generations of cattle producers. He and Vicki operate a large farm/ranch raising beef cattle, horses, and a few goats. In his very little spare time, he loves to hunt all types of wildlife and go fishing. He loves his horses and was quite good at Team Roping winning jackpots and numerous belt buckles. Vicki, a first generation American, moved to Eureka Springs with her Czech immigrant parents in 1979. Growing up and working in the hotel/restaurant industry with her family. Vicki is a Chef cooking the ethnic Czech recipes of her heritage. In her spare time, she loves the farm and being outdoors gardening or playing Pickleball.

Why they chose this property

They were finally able to purchase the farm in December 2019 after leasing the land for 25 years for cattle production. This was the best of both worlds, a 242-acre farm on the lake with a house and private boat dock plus over half a mile of lake frontage! This is a property that you want to keep in the family to be enjoyed for generations. Quiet, secluded, spacious, and no neighbors!

What makes this property unique

Since they weren't able to live on the property yet, they decided to remodel the house and share it with other people. Since Vicki is familiar with the hotel industry and what vacationing guests look for in accommodations, she and Darrel remodeled the house to be a vacation rental. They wanted to create a place that they would look for if they could get away for a few days. Quiet, secluded, beautiful outdoor scenery, away from the daily stresses of running businesses! The house had to have plenty of bathrooms and spacious living areas so everyone would not feeling cramped. Supportive memory foam mattresses for a good night sleep. Luxurious bed and bath linens were chosen. Modern kitchen appliances and a well-stocked kitchen was a must for guests that love to cook. Decor is comfortable and clean but not stuffy. Cleanliness is on the top of the list. Vicki is a seasoned pro when it comes to AAA inspectors and their white glove inspections!
Plenty of outdoor patios and porches to sit and enjoy alone or with family and friends. The dock is the only one in the cove for plenty of swimming and morning coffee drinking. Evenings at the house are very quiet and peaceful, no highway or city noises can be heard. Crickets and Owls are the only noise makers, sometimes an occasional Moo from the cows on the property.
