Large cozy rustic home with plenty of beds to sleep a large group. Very secluded with a nice swim dock in a quiet cove near Beaver Lake Dam. Kitchen was very well equipped, and the backyard fire pit was an awesome place to congregate in the evenings.
Lots of space, loved the fire pit, swim dock and decks! Great place to gather in small or large groups. Appreciated the access to the kayaks, canoe and paddle boat too.
Loved the layout of the main floor. Extremely well-stocked kitchen; ready for entertaining. Enjoyed the boat/swim dock. We had a diverse age group, plenty of space for everyone. We enjoyed our stay.
Excellent! They provided so much for us. Very remote but incredibly cozy and peaceful. House was spacious and very comfortable. We would stay here again, no doubt.
Privacy, water and peace. That sums up our stay! We fished, swam and enjoyed our time so much. Karen, the host was the absolute best. We only had four people, so we had more than plenty of room. Beds were comfortable and the views were stunning. We rented a boat from the local marina and had a great time on the peaceful and beautiful Beaver lake. The house had everything we needed and more. I really can't explain how much we loved our stay.
We loved the dock and the amenities we could use. The paddle boat was a hit and the cove was very quiet. The fire pit was great for our group to gather each night and make s’mores and play games. The stairs from the porch had a few lose boards. We loved the large porch but the cobwebs and spiders kept us away. Guest bedroom mattress needs replaced. Kitchen was stocked well and we enjoyed using the grill. This place has a great location and with a little TLC and a few updates it could be a 10/10.
Good property for a bunch of men who like to fish and boat. Plenty of room. Nice property and outdoor spaces. The climb from the boat dock to the house is a tough one if you’re not young. We are glad everyone in our crew had four-wheel-drive vehicles as the road leading back to the property definitely needs some tending to. If you have a boat trailer you will have a hard time turning around. But all in all This is a nice property.
Our families really enjoyed our time at this property on Beaver Lake. When we arrived at the house (take Pine Log Drive to the house, *not* Armadillo Road, when you get to the rocky / dirt road near the lake), we found a large, spacious home (lots of beds in the upstairs level) with a welcoming gift from Karen. The house is a little older, but many of the appliances were upgraded and there were plenty of utensils / cookware in the kitchen. There is also a large multi-level wrap-around porch that we used to sit and drink our morning coffee. We spent most of our days down by the dock - swimming in the lake or riding in the provided kayaks and paddle boat. Karen supplied additional life jackets and oars for the kayaks and canoe. For a couple of nights, we made a fire in the large fire pit and roasted marshmallows. Our kids enjoyed watching TV in the downstairs playroom. We had a great time at the property and would highly recommend this house for those families looking for a quick getaway.
We have a great time at this house. There is easy access to the lake. We enjoyed the dock and kayaks available for use. The house is spacious and well equiped for a large group. The drive is hard to maneuver with boat trailers unless you are proficient. The porche is wonderfull for meals and just to hung out in the evening. Easy check-in process, everything worked as expected.
Several of our friends and their families stayed here. The description was spot on and we had tons of room and the house was fully stocked with crockpots, margarita maker, coffee makers etc. We spent every night on the deck. There are no close neighbors which is also a plus because we are pretty loud. It is off the beaten path, but that’s what we were looking far. The driveway is very steep, I would recommend higher clearance vehicles. The dock was perfect to swim. We tied our boat to the shore as the lake wasn’t overly busy. There is not a good location to park the boat trailer and make sure you take everything you need with you. There are no close markets. Loved our stay.
We had a small gathering for my 40th birthday and wanted an escape. This property provided that and then some. Great seculded home and lawn in the woods with a beautiful view of the lake on the dock.

Beaver Lake retreat
The house provided plenty of space. The lake was amazing. Some issues with cleanness of house but the owner was quick to fix. The road to the house and walkway to the dock/lake were rough to get too. We definitely enjoyed our time.
This place worked great for my family of 7 adults and 7 kids. Plenty of beds and space for everyone. The deck and stairs will need some updates soon, because some of the steps and deck boards are getting rotten. The road to the house is a little rough but beautiful. Four wheel drive was not needed to get to the house. The walk to the water could be too much for injured or elderly, but for everyone else it’s great. The house doesn’t have the newest design or updates but it does its job and everyone was happy with it. The water is 12’ deep off the end of the Dock in are anyone is wondering.
The property had everything we needed. The boat dock and lake access were excellent. The path to the lake was a little challenging, but do able.
I would describe the property as rustic. Needed maintenance on inside and outside. There was a hot tub and canoe on the listing details that were not there. There were 5 bedrooms. There were 3 bedrooms upstairs, with no bathroom. There were 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the main floor and 1 bathroom in the walkout lower level. The lack of the upstairs bath was inconvenient.
The home and lake were lovely but getting to the house was a disaster. The road is gravel with crazy twists and turns and the driveway is straight down. I was thankful I brought our family food for the whole time bc once you get there it is hard to leave. Also the walk to the dock was a bit treacherous but once we were settled in it was ideal! It felt like we had the place all to ourselves. The home was clean and was stocked with everything needed.
We loved spending our weekend here. Karen was wonderful and great to work with. The house was wonderful and dock was great to sit out on and catch some sun. Such a great spot!
The house was perfect for a weekend on the lake. The AC worked well. We enjoyed the different spaces inside and outside of the house. The road to the house is a little rough at parts so an SUV would be best to get there. Karen’s communication was excellent.

Decent location but run down
We stayed here for 5 nights this past June, our yearly family vacation we look forward to and save up for. The location was good, it’s in a quiet cove and the private beach you could paddle or kayak to was a nice bonus. But the house needs some TLC and honestly not worth the rate it is priced at. Several deck steps were shaky and need replacing, the furniture is very worn in, and almost every room had at least one light bulb out. The biggest problem was the dock lights not working, so no one was able to fish at night (one of the main reasons we book a place like this is to have the opportunity to do so). The solar lights lining the yard and down to the dock were also out (as well as the flashlights provided), so you were kind of confined to the house once it got dark. When I addressed this with the host, she said she was unable to get it fixed until after we would be gone. I felt a partial refund was reasonable since all of the amenities were not available, but despite VRBO reaching out multiple times we never heard from her. I normally would not post a negative review but given the lack of response and the amount of money we spent I felt at least future renters might want to know these things. We all work hard for our money and should get what we pay for. I think this place would be ok to stay at if it was either priced lower, or they do some upgrades. And the host should visit the place more to make sure things are maintained and work before vacationers come.
