The owners were amazingly helpful in making my last minute Christmas trip a success! The absolute perfect spot to get away as a family and reset. Cannot wait to go back and experience it in the warmer months as well!

Thanks David and Desiree for sharing your beautiful house and property with us. There was so much for us to do and enjoy. Our children, ages 5 to 16 were busy and happy during our entire stay.

We are thrilled to hear all the fond memories and have enjoyed meeting such nice families like yours.
We loved our weekend at this house. It is even more beautiful than the pictures and was spotless when we arrived. Everything about our stay was excellent, even though it rained every day. The river is a short walk away. The wildlife was spectacular (eagles galore). Our interactions with the host were excellent. We’d love to come back and stay again.
We are a family of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) and this house was perfect for us! It’s spacious, clean, serene and relaxing. The house sits on a huge piece of land bordering the Delaware River. Kids had a lot of fun kayaking, boating, and throwing stones by the river bank. Very relaxing. We loved it!
We could not possibly have enjoyed our stay on this property any more. It is even more beautiful and peaceful than the photos lead you to believe. The river access is amazing and so enjoyable. We swam, kayaked, picnicked, and fished and fished and fished! The house is impeccably clean and contains everything one could want right down to an ice cream maker! The homeowners are delightful and super helpful. The whole week was definitely a five-star experience.
When I tell you this place is amazing, that is a understatement. Our party included 3 couples, 4 kids and a toddler. Over the last 10years we rent on vrbo about 3 to 4 times a year. Winter is usually poconos and summers at various beaches. We decided this location due to the beauty of the outdoors and it exceeded our expectations. The house is SPOTLESS. Was by far the most equipped kitchen for large family dinner gatherings that we ever experienced, from appliances, utensils, hand towels, cutting boards to cookie sheets. We didn't need anything. All bedding and linens where the highest quality and every piece of furniture was perfect to gather and relax as a family. The fire place was amazing and used daily. Restrooms again spotless and well stocked. Game room was used daily and kitchen table was large enough for daily card and board games with everyone to be include. Now to the best part......waking up to the dozens of deer in the morning grazing the fields. We explored the grounds daily. Fished for hours, no luck but it was beautiful and relaxing. Tossed rocks in the Delaware to make the toddler giggle. Made walking sticks and found a salamander. Explored the towns 10min away and got lunch. Even the teens and tweens disconnected from electronics to explore and engage in wholesome family fun. Also we stayed new years eve and was supposed to check out the next morning at 10am, the owner texted me new years eve and let us know she no booking next day take our time!
I stayed at this property with my wife and two children. The home was nicely designed and very clean. It was great being right on the Delaware River. The property is loaded with deer that stay in the fields all day. The host was accommodating and responded quickly. I would highly recommend this property especially if you are looking to do something on the river.
I have been coming to the Damascus area my whole life. We have a cabin 5 miles from this property. This year we needed a larger spot to hold 3 generations celebrating my mother’s 80th. This home was perfect. Beautiful landscape, epic sunrises from the bedroom balconies, trails for hiking, private riverfront beach and a basement with games! The only challenge is limited seating and bathroom storage areas. There are no towel racks or table tops in the vast bathroom to hold personal items. With 8 people sharing the hallway full bath, this is a lost opportunity. In addition, the basement has a great TV and games but only one chair for viewing. There is a bar table for four. Movie night was a bit tough as we all went to the loft. With the Futon and the sofa, we still had to sit in the floor.
Otherwise, everything was great! The pitchers are amazing. Both private porches and shared porches. The kitchen is well stocked. We cooked for 10 every night. There is even a fenced in area for the dogs. This was great when letting them out at night.
Wifi worked great! We were all online working in the mornings and had plenty of bandwidth.
As “locals” we felt like we found a hidden gem in our neighborhood. Thank you to our hosts for a fabulous visit!
As soon as we pulled into the driveway, we were greeted by the owners' son who was in town for the week to help out his parents. We could feel just how proud of his home he was as he gave us the tour. He even pointed out that his father milled the gorgeous stair railings from a fallen oak tree on the property. We knew right then and there that this is a special place, filled with loving energy. The home is cozy, yet spacious and extremely clean. It has everything you need -there even were towels just for our dogs who loved swimming in the river. We highly recommend!
The house was more beautiful than the pictures. It has so many little decks on each side. There are so many little special parts. The loft the game room.. The property sits in the middle of the Forest. Deer running everywhere. Eagles flying above us. All beautifully mowed except for the paths that lead to the River or the Trails . Kayaks available and it is truly great on the water.
There are great restaurants close to the house. We had a wonderful time!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We really didn’t leave the property. Great location to escape from the day to day hustle. Owners are fantastic and very accommodating. We are hoping to return in the near future.
We loved this house and property. Very private!
Our son and future daughter in-law nd our good friends also came with us , a total of 6.
We also brought out dogs and the owners have a fenced in area for dogs to go potty.
The house is large and fully stocked, with gorgeous views from all areas of the home.
My husband ordered a fishing license online and caught several fish.
The little town is close and quaint, with some good take out places and dining in restaurants. Debbie and Jeff
Beautiful property and wildlife viewing. Soaring Eagles, turkey and deer abound. Wonderful peaceful setting for all. Desiree made sure we had everything we needed and more, very pleased with accommodations and overall experience. Highly recommended.
Fantastic weekend getaway with friends and this home was the perfect spot for us . Plenty of space to stretch out and relax . The home is so cozy , we really enjoyed the fire pit and the natural beauty of the surroundings . Spent an afternoon in Calicoon and floated back to the house on our tubes … So fun !
Words really cannot explain staying here. Had a great fishing experience, campfires under the milkyway, kayaking, amazing wildlife. Kids loved running around playing pool and ping pong. Adults just enjoyed the built/natural environment.
Our family of five had a very relaxing time just being together. We had fun swimming, fishing, biking and exploring the grand property. At night we had ping pong tournaments and played board and card games. The house was very comfortable and clean. Just remember to pack your big spray, but if you forget they have some stocked up. Overall a wonderful experience.

About the host
Hosted by David and Desiree
David and Desiree grew up locally both connected to family farms and continue to raise their family and farm in Damascus. They co-own and direct several well established specialty manufacturing and related service companies associated with television, film, corporate, public spaces and museums.
We both wandered this property as teenagers not together but separately. Ironically, after marriage, we had an odd opportunity to purchase this beautiful farm which was once all cornfields as we remember back when we were kids and now lush hay fields. We still walk the land reminiscing with each other how special it was for both of us back then and now. It's a special moment as you continue through the gate and come around the corner...Its hard to describe.
We decided to purchase the property with dear friends of ours and constructed a magnificent custom passive solar timber frame home for them doing much of the work ourselves. Our friends since have moved out west giving us first option to keep the land intact but decided not to move into this home because our current home and stables are very special and hand crafted from a design done in high school.
When we travel with our four children, we always seek accommodations that are most like home and clean. We manage, care for and clean this home ourselves as a family, with care we would want and with the goal you will never forget your stay at Waterside. Many Guests say 'that our words and pictures can't explain this place' We take great pride in the hand craftsmanship, its cleanliness and presentation. In the winter...you can enjoy the warm glow in the fireplace.
Why they chose this property
Waterside is a 'one of a kind' equisite hand crafted Passive Solar Timber Frame Log Home on gated 145 prestine acres with a mile of private Delaware River Front. Most guests cant imagine it until they arrive. Many of guests often tell us, 'your words pictures DO NOT do this home justice'. One guest figured out it was like having a home all by itself in the middle of the town of Hoboken along the river.
What makes this property unique
Comfort, amazing kitchen, massive cozy fireplace, radiant heat and warm feet, endless views, seclusion, privacy, wildlife, the fish stories, paddling home, freedom...most guests have plans but never leave the front gate after check in....
