Convenient location, prompt responses/service with anything pertaining to the house. Loved the property, it fit our needs perfectly. Only adjustment I would make would be to provide a bbq grill, which we bought at the store and left behind for the owner and future guests.
The only challenging thing about this house is that all bedrooms are upstairs. From the pics, I thought one would be down. The stairs are a bit narrow in places and wind so a person with mobility issues would find it hard to navigate. I didn't specifically ask about bedroom location and it didn't specifically state it in description (maybe I missed it), but we made it work with the large sectional downstairs. The beach is in a great spot (less rocky here than in other parts) and the sunrise is phenomenal from the patio. Pool was great for dipping. Easy access to town and grocery. We had a great family vacation and truly enjoyed our stay.
This is my family’s second time to stay at the property. Everything was perfect! My husband and I and my early 20’s daughter and my teenage son. Had an absolute blast we will be back soon!
We had a wonderful time here exploring the Isla with our family. We had a golf cart and every part of the island was easily accessible in a few minute drive in the cart. The back porch with pool was perfect for sunrises over the Caribbean. We would definitely return. Thank you!
Check in process was super easy. We were met at the house where we were shown around the house and all the amenities.
We usually stay on the southern part of island and this was the first time we stayed closer to north end. Location couldn’t have been better as getting anywhere on island only took 10 minutes.
House was very nice with three spacious bedrooms and bathrooms in each suite. Living area and kitchen were spacious enough for all. Would stay here again.
Casa Nido de Gallo was fabulous! The whole process was smooth & easy with the rental company & Chema the property manager. They were both very quick to answer questions & help us prepare for our trip. Chema helped us check in on arrival & even called a taxi for us on our last day. He was always very responsive & nice. The location of the house is perfect right in the middle of the island. The house is beautiful inside & out, & was equipped with everything we needed including pool floats. We enjoyed the pool after a long day at the beach & enjoyed walking down on the beach in the mornings & evenings. The owners truly thought of every little detail. We can't wait to go back!
Loved the house. Pool was great. Beach towels provided. Lots of space. Comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed for making breakfast before scuba diving. Each bedroom having its own bathroom was awesome. Heck in was great and communication through the what’s app (recommended for any travel in Mexico) was fast and easy. Would trim end and stay at again. Convenient to all areas of the island 5 min to the main town on the island. And the docks for the all of the water based excursions. Don’t hesitate. Great place.
This is a very pretty house perfect for a small group with en-suite bathrooms with showers for each of the bedrooms as well as a half bath off the kitchen and another full bath off the pool. The photos are accurate and the furnishings are very nice. But the pool right next to the ocean was our favorite thing! This was our 6th trip to Isla and will definitely try to stay here in the future when we are with friends or family. It is a healthy walk to downtown, so we rented a golf cart. The parking space behind the gate was very handy. Chima was waiting for us for check-in and responded quickly to the few questions we had. He even arranged for dinner to be delivered when we wanted to stay in one night. This is a great place!

Property has an excellent view but the kitchen is covered in ants to include the walls, cabinets and countertops. Beds were hard as a rock and the third bedroom is not a king size bed as the advertisement states. Coffee maker didn’t work, outside toilet was leaking all over the floor when we checked in. Bedroom walls are covered in dust. Floor was covered in sand.
This home was amazing and beautiful, a perfect location to get away from busy life but close enough to the restaurants, bars and beaches. The pool overlooking the ocean was all of our favorite part of the house and we used it every day! It was very refreshing on the hot hot days and a great was to start and end the day as well. The home is very well maintained and the property manager was very easy to be in contact with and attentive as well. I think we only had 3 things that weren’t there as advertised, 1 of the rooms is not a king bed, possibly a full. Also the kitchen didn’t have a blender or a microwave which would have been very helpful. Other than those minor things we really truly enjoyed everything and plan on returning again.
We loved our stay at Nido del Gallo. Using WhatsApp made communication very easy. Management team was very responsive. Pool is not heated which is normal but just be aware of that. Beach is nice to walk when tide is lower, especially if you like looking for sea glass.
It was great to have bottled water coolers on both floors.
House is along the airport on the east (gulf) side so there is quick access to downtown by golf cart and not too far from the south end of the island.
Gated parking area can hold 2 regular golf carts if you park carefully.
Cons: Two of the beds were a little hard but hopefully that will get addressed. Some of the shower heads could use replacing too.
We visit Isla multiple times a year but this was our first time staying at Casa Nido del Gallo. The home is in a great mid island location with a beautiful view from the main living area and 2 of the upstairs bedrooms. The home had everything you need for a wonderful vacation. The management and cleaning staff couldn’t have been more accommodating.
I would definitely recommend this home. However, a couple of notes I hope may help others: 1) all of the bedrooms are on the second floor and the stairs were a tad steep, though they had a good railing. This was an issue for one of my elderly parents. Something to consider if you’re traveling with small children or adults with difficulty climbing 2) while the views out the back are beautiful there is no direct beach access. The online pics don’t really show that. You can access it a couple lots south but it is extremely rocky and not accessible for those who have difficulty walking.
All in all though we had a great stay.
Beautiful and spacious, this house was just exactly what we were looking for during our week at Isla Mujeres. Everything worked flawlessly. Our family of 4 had more than enough room, and everyone felt very relaxed in the nicely-furnished rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals from food we bought at Chedraui (about a mile walk south). We enjoyed the small pool on the patio, the sandy beach and rocks directly below, and swimming in the ocean beyond. We walked up and down the beach at the tideline each day, enjoying the soft sand (though it gets rocky some ways to the south). We snorkeled in the reef just outside the house, but the waves were often too rowdy for comfort. On the flip side, the rowdy waves were endlessly entertaining to watch at sunrise with hot coffee, or in the evening with a nice glass of wine. El Centro was an easy walk along the road and Malecon East; however, with a quiet, secluded beach just outside the door of the house, there seemed little need to walk up to the crowds and blaring music at Playa Norte. Almost anytime of day a taxi can be hailed from the front of the house if needed, which we did on one occasion to save time. The house sits on a busy road, but once inside the house the traffic noise isn't noticeable. Overall, really enjoyed the stay.
Casa Nido del Gallo is exactly what you see in the pictures. This was our second trip to the island and our group of 3 couples enjoyed our week here.
It has a convenient mid-island location, but there are no bars or restaurants within what we considered walking distance. We rented a golf cart for the week and were glad we did!
Beautiful view from the back of the house and easy access to the beach. We enjoyed walking the beach and picking up shells and sea glass.
There are just a few things that keep this from being a 5 star place:
1) While it has a very convenient location, it is on a busy road and you kind of feel like you are taking your life into your hands trying to get the golf cart out of the parking area.
2) The pool deck is very small - only two lounge chairs, and the pool is totally shaded by about 11:00 every morning. It is not a heated pool, so the water was way too cool for us to even get in during our Jan/Feb stay.
3) There is a very small "crows nest" up on the third floor. It has beautiful views of the island, sunrises and sunsets, but there is only room for 3 beach chairs (not lounge chairs). This is the best place to get some sun on the property, but very cramped.
If you are looking for a place with plenty of room to spread out and lounge in the sun and enjoy the pool, you could probably find better options. Luckily, our group likes to go out and explore the island, finding different bars and restaurants every day, and we loved it!
Nice property with a little bitty beach area that's difficult to access...
The house was fine although the alarm system did NOT work (I'm a repeat guest at this house and that's one of the things that drew me back). House was very clean and location is pretty nice, especially if you want to hang out near the North end of the island - it's walkable if you enjoy a bit of a walk.
We had a few small issues which I contacted the manager about and he was awesome. Incredibly fast reply to all my questions. Can't recommend him enough.
Things to consider though that few reviewers seem to mention:
1. There's no oven so all cooking is to be done on a gas cooktop or in the microwave. Not that big of an issue but we were hoping to bake some dishes.
2. The beach area is not easily accessible from the house. My younger husband has no issue getting down there but my 64 year old body didn't go as gently. .
3. When I was at the property years ago, there was a rooftop view. There's solar panels up there now so you can't easily see sunset any longer (good reason to get a drink in town!).
That's about all you need to know. You'll enjoy the house and the pool is marvelous!
For those reading these reviews, in 45 days from Oct 8 to 11, you should see turtles hatching ON THE BEACH! Turn off the house lights please
Great property & concierge, but BEWARE of owner and property MGR’s inability to resolve issues!
Overall, good experience except the last day (major issue).
The good:
-Property cleanliness, decor, completeness of amenities
-Pictures were accurate, view, neighborhood, etc all exceptional
-Concierge (Chema) was very responsive to questions & requests.
-Great checkin process
Not so good:
-MAJOR issue: All our utility got cut off on the last day of our stay. Utility company came and shut off power, water, gas, etc and said the owner did not pay the bill. We had no ac, cannot flush toilet, cannot shower, cannot wash things. It was miserable. We raised to concierge and maintenance and only got told that they were working on it. No compensation of any sort.
-Responding to issues (see above) Concierge is good at responding, but only forwards issues/requests and cannot stay on the resolve
-washer & dryer would be nice
-No thicker blankets, only sheet cover. They said that’s all the owner offers. We have to run AC and close doors due to mosquitos. But bed only has cover. For someone who gets cold easily u will be freezing. Suggest have thicker blankets in the closet.
Our 2nd stay here and won’t be our last! Centrally located, well appointed, what’s not to love?! We really enjoyed the pool and cooked most meals at the house thanks to a bountiful fishing trip. Everything was wonderful and we can’t wait to come back!
We had an amazing stay. The pool was great! The only thing I wish they had was more kitchen supplies like a blender and oven. We love to cook with ingredients we find at the local markets and it was a bit difficult. Other than that, a perfect stay in a perfect location.
Where to begin!! This is a gorgeous home, just beautiful, everything you need!
Cheema and his team are unparallelled in their service and helpfulness
We booked a day on his brother Captain Juan’s boat it was the best day!!
We did some fishing, snorkelling and swam with whale sharks highly recommended
It was so great to have Cheema’s advice and suggestions he is a multi generational Isla Mujeres resident and speaks English with ease. The pool was just lovely the water was warm and clean and the beach below was full of treasures from the sea
Wish we could have been there longer! Left too soon
