We loved the property and location! It was lovely waking up near Popham Beach. Each day the water and sandbars were different. Highly recommend this property & location. Property manager was helpful and responsive:)

Perfect location - perfect stay!

This is our third year staying here, and it is always wonderful. Steps from the beach and a cozy little spot for our stay. Looking forward to visiting again.

Lovely Retreat

This cottage is the perfect place to restore yourself and enjoy a relaxing week at Popham Beach. All of the amenities we needed were included, and it was great to be just 30 seconds away from a walk in the sand. When I contacted the host re: a question, she responded immediately, which was very helpful. Would highly recommend staying at the Driftwood!

Perfect beachy cabin!

This property is so cute, especially the kitchen. It has everything you need and nothing that you don't! The location is great--the beach is just steps away. We stayed during cooler weather-- 40s to 50s at night and the heater was quite sufficient. My only request would be a few more curtains :)

Coming Home

It was wonderful to stay at this Driftwood cottage for the week. Although the weather wasn’t the most cooperative, we made the most of our time back in an area that’s like a second home to us. The beach was beautiful and fun! The cottage was cute, well stocked with necessities, and made for a cozy nest for our Clue marathon on the stormy day.

Popham Paradise

We had such an amazing time at Popham. The cottage was clean and cozy and had everything we needed. Marianne was available by email and quick to reply to any questions we had. I wouldn't change a thing about this vacation. It was just what we needed to reconnect as a family after a busy year. We all can't eait to go back.

Perfect beach stay

We loved our stay at Marianne's cottage. It was perfect for a family of 4 with two small kids. The beach is a stone's throw from the doorway. Perfect for the kids, you don't have to lug everything back and forth at once. The cottage and beach were dog friendly (though we didn't bring our dog we could have). Absolutely great location and the beach is not crowded at all—plenty of space to enjoy. Marianne was a wonderful host and super responsive to all of our questions. We can't wait to come back! One minor suggestion would be adding some blinds in the dining area and on the doors.

Wi-Fi was intermittent

Left for a few days as thought I Could work From there but due to Wi-Fi could not. Couldn’t reach landlord as no signal at all. Neighbor assisted and fixed the issue

Sorry about the blown fuse. This happened once before and the renter switched the fuse back on in the fuse box located plainly in the bedroom. I will add instructions in the welcome page. The best way to contact me is through VRBO messages as I get alerts for all messages. I am thankful for my neighbors in the area.. they are the best and so helpful. I have an electrician checking the fuse box to see why it went out twice over the summer. He has made some adjustments that should resolve it. Some things are out of our control.

We loved the site, but we expected cable TV and thought there would be AC. Marianne was right that AC was not needed, after we figured out the ceiling fan.A couple site issues. The site manager has not mowed the grass andThere was a hazard with the stairs to the beach missing and no caution tape or warning sign to block the 15 foot drop ! The stairs were installed a couple days later. The dumpster placement compromised our parking spot. We could not have parked more than 1 car there. Why can't we park in front of our cabin?We love Popham, but felt the amenities were overstated and the price was high.

I apologize your stay was not a five star. For your information there are two parking spots, one on either side of the entrance as stated in my arrival instructions. I wish you would have contacted me about the stairs and I could have instructed you to use the other easy access to the beach which we are granted permission to use if the stairs are not in. There is one business in town that can install them and due to high demand they were backed up. I explained too that cable is not worth the cost as most of my guests use the ROKU system there for streaming movies, sports and shows.

Beautiful location, clean, simple and comfortable

We stayed as the whole family: two parents, two kids and grandma in August for a week. Everything was great: views, location, beach and weather. Cottage was clean, has everything we need, including linens, kitchen ware and outdoor grill with picnics table. Just not enough time for all the fun!

Great stay

Lovely place, we hope to visit again in the future! I thought this was ocean-facing when I booked it, but I guess close enough! You can hear the ocean at night. The kitchen had the basics, could use a few more pots and pans. Linens were good, the cottage was very clean. This place is really about being on the beach in a secluded beach area.

adorable cottage in a special place

Marianne's cottage is clean and beautifully decorated in a beach theme. It's location is superb, with easy access to a pristine, uncrowded beach next to Popham Beach State Park. While it did feel "cozy," the weather was beautiful so we were outside most of the time. Living and dining area felt spacious for us. Bedrooms are small but adequate. Was quite warm in the cottage until the breeze picked up in the afternoon, so the fans were a big help. We had a lovely week with family and friends coming and going, all of whom adored the place. Thank you!

Not "on the beach"

From the online presentation we were led to believe that the property was facing directly onto the ocean. Alas, it was perpendicular to the beach, four dwellings down the line, facing the parking lot with the ocean a distant view. There are other properties in this complex that do "front" the ocean; this is not one of them.
