About this property

The Artists' Yellow Beach Cottage

Beautiful romantic hideaway for two or cozy cottage for four. This is our home that we rent to new friends when we are away a week or a month. Our home is furnished in keeping with the 1920 beach cottage genre. We are located in the historic village of Corona del Mar. It is one block from Newport Bay and three blocks from the Corona Del Mar beaches, plus within walking distance of children's parks and the village restaurants. Fashion Island is just a mile away.
Our home does have a ring doorbell in the front of the house by the front door as well as two cameras. One in the front and one in the back yard for security purposes.
When guests are there the speakers are off.

This property is a restored 1927 'kit home' that you could order from the Sears catalog and construct in a weekend, of course it wasn't. It is lovely and private and has one thousand square feet with a living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. A full bath and a half bath. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has TWO twin beds. All linens are provided, with down comforters and pillows, as well as all your towels. The living room has a sofa bed.

I know you don't want to cook, but if you do, the kitchen is updated with all the modern conveniences to assist the gourmet cook in you and still has the vintage vibe with a vintage Chambers stove. Several markets, including Bristol Farms, Trader Joe's and Pavilions are close . We have a charcoal barbecue in the front yard for private outdoor dining. The plumbing, electricity and heating are new and updated . Because of a hotter than normal summer last year, we have added Air Conditioning in both bedrooms. A front loading washer and dryer is in the garage for the use of our guests and tenants.

In case there is an allergy problem in your family , we do have down comforters and pillows, this may not be for you.....

We had wonderful mid-September beach weather and enjoyed outdoor meals throughout our stay. This is not a sterile rental but a family home. It reminded me of my CDM grandmother's home in many ways. Great shower with great water pressure! Lots of homey touches.

It was just perfect. I need some down time and the neighbor is very quite dead end street so no traffic. Love this cozy home The stove is old style and super nice to use I just loved it.

This is a cottage built sometime ago and modernized over time so that it is quite livable and charming. There is no a/c but it's located in line with ocean breezes and is comfortable.The cottage is on the cul de sac end of Dahlia Street and is private and quiet. Both downtown shopping, restaurants and the beach are within walking distance. As a result, except for visits to Laguna Beach and the state park on the way, we walked which is generally our preference.

The cozy cottage

We really enjoyed the location and the neighborhood. It was perfect for us. The street parking was not my favorite but you really can find a spot. Practice your parallel parking skills.

This is a step back in time. Cozy little house walking distance to beaches, shops and restaurants. Quiet neighborhood. The owner is very responsive to any questions. Would definitely stay here again

The location is excellent! I lived on the same street for 20 years so we were able to return to our favorite places and eating establishments. Five Crowns and The Quiet Woman in Corona Del Mar. las Brisas in Laguna beach on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Garduno’s on 17th street in Costa Mesa. ( amazing Italian food!)

Lovely little place

We own the house next door, and this is this is the first time I've been inside the little yellow house that I've seen my whole life. We rented the place to stay as we came in from out of town for my mom's celebration of life. We had many family and friends gather this weekend to share memories of the past 3 generations of time living on Dahlia. This weekend was a special time for us.

The Loveliest Cottage

We had a great and comfortable stay at the yellow cottage. We really appreciated the communication and hospitality from Sherry. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed the antique furnishings and cottage charm of this place. It was a perfect location from which to explore the OC! We enjoyed walks around the beautiful neighborhood and down to nearby Sophie's Beach, where we spotted dolphins. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us, Sherry!

Sweet and Cozy

Property is just as described. Comfortable master bed and bedroom, other bedroom tiny with twin beds. Lots of antiques in the house, but also has everything you need. Owner is wonderful to communicate with by text. Very easy relaxing stay. Great neighborhood.

Great location in a great So Cal city. My I suggest: replace the rusted grill on there one Very small Weber. The beds in the second very small bedroom Needs to be replaced. Both were very uncomfortable.

Cute, Cluttered Getaway

The house was very congested with furniture and old appliances/fixtures. No lights were plugged in and it was definitely not vbro ready or convenient. The owner was very nice and check in was easy. Location and patio was fantastic and made up for the lack of updating and space .

Stay at yellow cottage

My wife and I and our Son stayed at the yellow cottage for about 5 days. It is a wonderful place and we had a great time. We didn't cook while we were there, but there is everything you need if you wanted to. We were all impressed with this nice little cottage and it's location is excellent. Close enough for a short walk to several beaches. We were able to park close every day. We would definitely rent again - the owners were wonderful with great communication.

Home away from home

My family (me, my wife, and daughter) have been staying here for over 10 years, since my daughter was very young. It feels like our second home. It is very clean and comfortable. It's well decorated and has all the amenities, including a new half-bathroom. It has a relatively small footprint, so don't stay if you are looking for something big, but it is SO cute and charming. It is also a quick 1 minute walk to the beach, which is great. Sherry, the owner is a wonderful host and nice person.

Perfect CDM "Flower Streets" location

Perfect cozy house for quiet stay near the beach, overlooks, walkability score 100 as you can walk to breakfast, lunch, dinner, shopping and sunset. Great beds, phone charging stations, tvs, nice large table with chairs for eating or game play, front yard with chairs and loungers, excellent shower and bath, plentiful linens and necessities. Love this place! so easy to call "home"

Oldie but a goodie

Charming yellow vintage cottage. It’s an older small home but a such a gem. There was 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children under 12) staying and it was just right. We felt comfortable and at home. -Great location in a beautifully manicured, safe neighbourhood -A short 12-wminute walk to the beach and to restaurants and shops -Comfy, quality bedding -Clean and well stocked and all the appliances worked well -Easy parking out front -Turf grass front yard was a bonus for early morning home yoga or soaking up the rays -Sherrie was so responsive, friendly and accomodating. Thank you so much for an excellent stay! We will definitely return.
