Layout was great. Carts to help with luggage were great. Views were awesome. Cleanliness was ok. Found a couple old towels from previous people. Tv remotes missing batteries. Tv cable very limited choices. No access to dishwasher was unexpected and less than ideal.

Not a lot for the price

The building is run down and old. The unit we stayed in was also run down. For the price we payed I’d expect more. I’m sure other units are nicer.

Overall, it is a nice apartment. We loved the sofa and washer/dryer and the beautiful view.The TV service is only basic channels and it’s difficult to hook up our devices to use streaming services.The blankets were old and thin. It would have been great to have more pillows. The kitchen wasn’t cleaned well, especially the microwave. It looks like they rushed to clean before we came.Thank you for a great stay!

Great view and large dwelling. The elevators were S L O W, especially during move in and move out. Waiting for 5 elevators before there's room is insane I am annoyed with myself for not noticing how few reviews the unit had.Bright lights all night without room darkening curtains in the bedrooms with balconies. The rooms were too bright for good sleep and HOT!Example of inadequate kitchenSingle small 6 inch frying pan (no other size)Impossible to make pancakes and it took 4 batches to make a pound of bacon4 drinking glasses for 6 peopleThe sharpest knives were in a drawer kids height. Unfortunately, most of the large knives were bent.No steak knifes2 cereal bowls, the other bowls were salad dimensions (too shallow)We were told Kurig when i messaged asking if there was a Kurig, yet not in the room.Many of the utensils and dishes were DIRTY yucky.Stuck on food is nasty.
The only measuring cup or spoon was one single dirty mineral stained 8 oz cup. How measure to make pancakes.
Pot selection, so much for making pancakes or bacon for 6.

Beautiful view

Nice unit with beautiful view. Love the new flooring. The bathroom exhaust fan was hanging below the drywall and very loud when you turned it on. Needs replacing. Needed new bedding update for master bedroom. Instructions should have been provided for TV’s. Could only get about 6 channels in living room. We had a problem with parking. We registered a Silverado truck and it would not fit in the garage in the owners parking spot. We were not offered another spot and had to relocate our truck off the lot. The facilities at Golden sands were beautiful , the pool, the recreation area, and stores and outside bar downstairs.

Nice condo

We were supposed to be able to check in at 4 when we got to the room the lock was broke on the door so I had to call maintenance to come and fix it. It was very hot and elevators were running extremely slow. It was close to 6 pm before we entered the room. The lady I spoke to at Vacesa said I would be compensated but haven't heard anything. Also the curtains in the rooms need to be repaired and the toilet seat in the master bedroom is destroyed. We enjoyed our stay but would like to hear something back from Vacesa

I have rented a few VRBO over years (not recently). My wife rents VRBO with her sister in Hawaii. The units we have rented all had well equipped kitchens, comfortable pillows, functional room darkening curtains. I don't know if the issues are due to the owner or VRBO I am annoyed with myself for not noticing how few reviews the unit had. Bright lights all night without room darkening curtains in the bedrooms with balconies. The rooms were too bright for good sleep. Without the heavy room darking curtains the rooms get very hot because the air-conditioning isn't adequate. HOT ROOMS made unhappy Example of inadequate kitchen Single small 6 inch frying pan (no other size) Impossible to make pancakes and it took 4 batches to make a pound of bacon 4 drinking glasses for 6 people The sharpest knives were in a drawer kids height. Unfortunately, most of the large knives were bent. No steak knifes 2 cereal bowls, the other bowls were salad dimensions (too shallow) It seemed like over the years dishes, glasses, pans, pots broke or were damaged and not replaced. We were told Kurig when i messaged asking if there was a Kurig, yet not in the room. Many of the utensils and dishes were DIRTY yucky. Stuck on food is nasty. Come on, please clean what we eat with. 2 thin pillows per bed No measuring spoons or cups other than one 8 ounce crusted with mineral deposits glass cup A small quantity of cheap scratchy towels for 4 adults and 2 kids

AC & 1 toilet didn't work, false fire alarm at 4AM, car booted cost $100

The room was beautiful and well appointed with everything needed. It is directly on the beach with stunning views of the ocean from the balcony. But our stay was a nightmare. When we arrived the AC was not working at all. Maintenance attempted to repair it but they were not able to do so. We spent our 3 days there in August without air conditioning. Clearly the compressor was shot and had probably not been functioning correctly for some time. On the second day they informed us that a toilet was leaking into the room below and they had to shut it off rather than fix it. The third night there was a false fire alarm at 4 AM. Residents living there told us it happens frequently. Although we had purchased a parking spot and were parked in our assigned spot our car was booted because we did not have our permit displayed correctly in the windshield. The cost to get it unbooted was $100.00 only payable in cash. We were compensated 8% of the rental cost for our troubles. It may have just been bad luck but it made for a miserable stay.

We have replaced the A/C, we chose not to repair the toilet as to minimize the disruption to your stay with their being other bathrooms in the home. However, this issue has been resolved as well. Unfortunately, there is not much we can do to resolve the false alarm and parking requirements as those both fall under the operations of the on-site staff. Fantastic Rental

Beautiful end unit in the Golden Sands. The unit was updated, clean and tastefully decorated. 3 bedrooms and 3 baths at a great price. Vacasa included all linens and even a bag of essentials (dish soap, laundry detergent, TP, etc.). Thanks for a great, stress-free stay.

Below average experience

A corner unit not directly facing the ocean even though it is listed as "ocean front." The front door is at the end of a VERY dark hallway without adequate lighting to see the tiny keypad making entry difficult. There was only 1 key for all 4 adults to share. Annoying. There was also only 1 TV remote for all four TV sets. RIDICULOUS! The TVs did not even work when we arrived and it took a day and a half after our complaint to have a handyman come in. The view from the balcony is partially obstructed by the high-rise next door; impossible to watch the sunrise. Condo layout is good, but it is showing years of wear and tear with cracked grout in the bathroom and multiple scrapes on the walls. The bed was not attached to the headboard in my room, so it moved every time I tried to get in or out. The bed itself was positioned so that it entirely blocked the huge closet, making it unusable. The nightstand was filthy; the envelope from the previous renter was still on the dresser in my room, black hair was shoved into in the corners of the bathroom, and the stench of the trash shoot smacks you in the face when exiting out the front door. YUCK! Definitely NOT the luxury experience I expected for the premium price I paid.

It was very nice to come in to a clean unit.! Beds were made and towels were out all the way down to toilet paper!! All we had to do was enjoy the view and relax. One downside, window coverings were not in the best shape.

We loved everything about it stay. The condo was clean and well equipped with everything you need. The view was amazing and it was quiet. Everyone was very nice. The pool we refreshing and the drinks at the tiki bar were reasonable and delicious. I would love to stay again. My only complaint would be the elevators. On Saturdays it was a long wait but every other day was fine.

Golden sands worth the stay

Overall we enjoyed our stay, place was clean and furniture was nice. Very spacious with three bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Balconies were very nice. On site amenities were convenient (pools, food, outdoor games, tennis courts, etc.). Would have been nice to have hot water for the washing machine for towels, etc. Master bathroom toilet seat was foam with tears in it which was just gross. When we arrived, lock box did not open which was very inconvenient. Fortunately, staff came in about 30-40 minutes to let us in. Would stay here again.

Nice stay

The layout was perfect for our group, and that’s the main reason we chose this unit. Also, that it didn’t require a week-long stay. The unit was clean and well stocked in the kitchen. There may have been some things in the unit that were undergoing maintenance or needed repair, such as the screen door. Note that you will need to bring your beach chairs and umbrellas, and possibly a small fan for the smallest bedroom as it gets warm in there during the day.

We had a group of 5 people and found a condo at golden sands with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It was our first time staying at the golden sands and we absolutely loved it! The room was great, the views were beautiful and the staff was friendly.

Fantastic16th birthday for my daughter!

We had a great time and loved the place! We brought my daughter down to OC to celebrate her 16th bday. The place was extremely clean and easy to check in an check out. Thank you and we will definitely be back and recommend to others.

Golden Sands #1501

We were surprised that this condo was very spacious and had beautiful views of the ocean/beach and the city. The rooms were neatly prepared and the towels provided were ample. We would have given it 5 stars if it was not for the extra $40 non refundable fee upon registration to the condo. The fee was not made known until we arrived. Vacasa also sent us the email re: keys and check-in procedure on the same day we left so we were unable to check it beforehand. The condo had limited kitchen supplies (tongs, blender, spices, etc.), blankets, & beach accessories. Indoor /outdoor pool was not open yet when we went. Elevators were quick--no long waiting. Beach access was close and easy. Location of the condo was away from the bustle of the boardwalk which we liked. Overall the condo was clean and we would stay here again.
