About this property

Peaceful Maine cabin on 16 beautiful acres!

Enjoy your own private cabin, that sits quietly on 16 private acres, tucked away in Maine’s Western Mountains & Lakes Region. This Maine getaway has all the peace & quiet you desire, plus kayak/canoe access to local Gammon Pond and multiple lakes & rivers nearby for swimming, kayaking & fishing, plus endless options for hiking trails & exploring, ATV trails right outside the front door, the amazing Maine Huts and Trails system, Kingfield and its unique eateries & art galleries & even nearby Sugarloaf.

This cabin sits quietly at the end of a secluded road, in a small neighborhood that sits around 90 acre Gammon Pond. To clarify the available sleeping options: There are two bedrooms on the main floor, and a third bedroom up a ladder in a loft room. In the two bedrooms on the main floor, one has a king sized bed and the second bedroom has a full sized bed. The bedroom up in the loft has two beds, a twin and a full sized bed. The kitchen is comfortably stocked with all basic supplies and appliance that is needed to cook throughout your time there. The living room has a large sectional couch, a big screen smart television and multiple board games. Outside there is a front deck with a charcoal grill and a firepit area to enjoy a night under an amazing star filled sky. Guests have all the parking area they need, in a large open area, just outside the front door. The are 2 Kayaks, plus paddles and life jackets, available for guests’ use. As mentioned, the cabin is located near Gammon Pond. Most of the shoreline for the pond is private. However, there is one small area that allows public access, that is just large enough to launch a kayak or canoe. The launch area is about a 1/4 drive or walk from the cabin. If guests are interested in launching the kayaks, they would want to plan on driving the kayaks to the launch area. While there is not really a public shoreline area to just walk up to and swim from, guests are welcome to jump in and swim in the pond, while they are out in the kayaks. In addition, there are multiple options in driving distance, to pack up a picnic and enjoy the water.
***Minimum age requirement for booking is 30 years old.
***No pets/animals allowed. Owners have severe allergies.
*** Linens\towels are not provided. Please plan to bring your own.
***There is wi-fi at the cabin. However, because the cabin is such a remote location, satellite service is all that is available and at best, it is not reliable nor responsive like most are accustomed to. While limited wi-fi will be available, please come prepared to enjoy a peaceful reprieve from the typical connected day-to-day pace of life!
***There is not a dishwasher nor laundry machine at the house. The nearest laundromat is about 10 miles away in the town of Kingfield.

Nearby Grocery Stores/Restaurants:
-“Our Village Market”: This gas station and convenience store is located about 5 miles south on Route 27. It has a good selection of basic food & drink items.
-Kingfield: The town of Kingfield is located about 7 miles north on Route 27. It has a grocery store, a few restaurants, a hardware store, and even a few art galleries.
-Farmington: The town of Farmington is located about 20 miles south on Route 27. It is a larger town and has anything you would need, including a Walmart.

Overall nice place
Overall this was a very nice place. I would not call it a 3 bedroom though. It is a 2 bedroom with lofts. One of the 2 lofts is large like a bedroom, but the ladders to the lofts are straight up and difficult to climb. As long as you know before booking, you can decide if this will be a problem for your family.

Fantastic Experience
We had a wonderful time at this property. It was close enough to the pond that bringing kayaks down wasn’t a hassle, but far enough away that it feels very private. There are some beautiful hiking trails nearby and some great
