English Prairie BnB was a great spot to stay! We had a wonderful reunion with several family friends, including young children. The families especially enjoyed the pool, the golf simulator setup (used for video games & movies), and the fire pit setup.

Dear Neighbors, I'm sorry. I accepted this booking and I shouldn't have. The parents described a small, quiet, chaperoned post-prom gathering of "nerdy" kids who weren't going to party. I even met two of them in person beforehand to walk the property and review house rules. Having already declined three similar inquiries, their plan sounded thought-out and they said all the right things, so I reluctantly said yes. What actually happened: Saturday night saw over 50 people in the house, settling at 40, with underage drinking all weekend. Within the first hour of arriving around 1 AM, they set off noise monitors at over 100 dB in the basement β€” equivalent to a loud rock concert. They only quieted after automated calls and texts. Sunday was worse. House rules are 75 dB outdoor / 85 dB indoor after 10 PM, and they began exceeding the more lenient 9 PM thresholds with a 4 ft by 2 ft portable speaker by the firepit. The parents on-site were completely permissive, ignoring all alerts. Once inside, the basement hit 90 dB, peaking over 104 dB, every alert ignored. It only stopped after I emailed that I was coming to remove them. We also cleaned vomit from the carpets in multiple spots after checkout. Neighbors, thank you for not calling the police and giving me the chance to handle it. My noise system caught exactly what it was designed to catch. We love large groups. They are not the problem. Group behavior is. Bring great grandma, the fam, the company retreat.

If it was possible to give this host and property more than five stars, we would! Mike was extremely responsive with any questions (even on Thanksgiving day!) and provided detailed and clear check in/check out instructions and misc. details about the property. The kids LOVED the kidquarium and game table/tablet. The house had EVERYTHING we needed for our stay. Our family would highly recommend this host and property.

This place was great for our group of 20. Plenty of space for everyone and we loved all the included amenities and activities on site. We had one small issue come up and the host went above and beyond to make everything right and then some.

Most Accommodating Place + Host

My company's stay at this VRBO was successful due to the host being so accommodating. We arrived to the place in perfect condition - very clean. The spaces were even better than the listing - very spacious and plenty of seating for our large team. If in Lake Geneva again, we would absolutely stay at this property again.

We spent the weekend (Friday, 5 PM until Monday, 10 AM), at this beautiful property. My husband and I wanted to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our two sons and their families, 11 people in total. This property was perfect for that celebration. The teenagers took over the basement bedrooms, the old folks (us) took the main floor bedroom, the younger grandchildren slept in the bunk room and our two sons and daughters-in-law-slept upstairs.There is so much to do. The grandchildren were entertained by the pool and the electronic game table. The young ones liked the playground. We all loved making s'mores by the beautiful fire pit. The adults (minus the old folks) enjoyed the hot tub. There was plenty of room for game playing. The coffee/cocoa bar was well-received and the table was large enough for us to eat together. The pancake station was a success.There were really only two negatives. We found the sound detection system very intimidating. We are a quiet family, although the young children (5-8 years old) did sometimes forget to use their β€œinside voices” when they were winning at the games we played. We found ourselves constantly checking the monitor to make sure we weren’t violating the rules. Also, we could never get the golf simulator to be more then a driving range. Some instructions for that amenity would have been helpful.Overall, the property is exquisite. We have stayed at a number of VRBOs and this one is outstanding.

Great family fun!

Mike is an outstanding host. He has thought of everything! There were so many entertainment options. The pool was a huge hit with the kids. I highly recommend this location for a family and friends get together.

Winter get away

Beautiful home and very well furnished. Pool and simulator were a blast. Host left a surprise treat of s’mores and cookie cake, the kids loved this. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants to enjoy a large family get together.

The house was perfect for a lovely family holiday! We had 11 adults, 4 kids, and 1 dog this year. There was plenty of room for everyone to have a great time. The house is stocked full of games and recreational areas (e.g., the kidquarium was a huge hit with our kids, as was the golf simulator). The kitchen has everything you need to cook at home for a large group. There is plenty of seating. We also have some elderly family members with accessibility challenges, but there were no issues as the house is very accessible. The house was very clean and meticulously maintained. The surrounding area is nice and quiet! Basically we loved staying here and have no issues or challenges to report!

Great Get-Together House!

We absolutely loved our time at this property! Mike is wonderful and super responsive. We had three families and kids ranging from 2 to 7 and they all loved it. There were so many activities, we all kept commenting on how much there was to do without having to leave the property. We also love to cook and the kitchen was great! Overall, we highly recommend this property and hope to visit again soon!

Excellent house

We rented the property with 5 adults and 10 kids. It was impeccably clean and the layout of the house was perfect where we had so much room and didn’t feel on top of each other. Communication with the owner was great and there was not one thing that we could complain about. We will definitely be back.

So fabulous!

This house has everything you need for a great getaway! It was clean, very well-appointed, and had lots of space to spread out. The beds were comfy, the coffee bar was well stocked, and there was even a station set up with waffle mix, makers, and fixins'. Mike (property owner) responded quickly to our questions and Carrie (property manager) was delightful! There is a reason this place has so many glowing reviews...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

If I could give a 6 star rating I would!

Over the top rental home! This is a great property with lots of attention to small details like multiple charging cords for electronic devices placed around the home to multiple tables for eating, working puzzles or playing games. It was the right mix of fun and relaxing. The host was super responsive and made us feel right at home from the minute we walked in the door. It is convenient to area attractions, restaurants and shopping. I can't say enough great things about this home. We would definitely stay here again!
