About this property

Off-Grid, Cozy Tiny House with Mountain Top Views

Enjoy glamorous camping 1700 feet above sea level in this tiny house with panoramic views of the Catskill Mountains just 2.5 hours from NYC. Ideal for couples! This tiny house is one of 4 unique structures located on our 4 acre farm.

Newly constructed in 2021 the 140 square foot house contains a spring/foam hybrid queen mattress with full bedding, kitchen sink & counter, 2 white leather bar stools, raised eating platform.

NOTE: Bathtub is now closed for the rest of 2024 (as colder temps are here). But you can still take a hot shower using the shower bag inside the tub in the cabin.

Just outside the house you'll find your Weber propane barbecue grill with outdoor table and benches. Use the ice filled cooler provided to store your burgers, hot dogs and other food items. We provide all the cooking utensils, silverware, paper plates, napkins, coffee mugs, wine glasses, and other kitchen essentials (salt, pepper, tissues, wipes, dish soap, etc.)

If you're here during a clear night, you will be dazzled by our star gazing and wonder in awe at how clearly you can see the Milky Way from our field.

Walk our secluded dirt road and visit the animals at the nearby farm (Lamas, sheep, goats, donkeys, ducks, chickens). Some nearby attractions are the Kaaterskill Falls, Howe Caverns and Greenville Drive-In-Theater.

The highlights:

- Queen sized mattress with full bedding.

- 2 bar stools and raised eating table.

- Outdoor Picnic table and 2 benches.

- Bar style sink with access to water storage tap.

- Brand new Porta-Potty toilet for your private use only.

- Hot shower using the camping shower bag standing in the indoor bath tub. NOTE: Taking a bath after September 15 is not possible. Temperatures start to get too cold, so for guests comfort only the hot shower option stays available.

- Propane Weber BBQ grill.

- Complimentary 4 gallon cooler, pre-filled with ice packets.

Guest access
A large field (approx 1/4 acre). Private parking spot.

Other things to note
Note: Campfires are NOT ALLOWED to be made by guests at any time. At this elevation in the mountains the wind can get quite strong. This is why we provide a propane gas grill for your cooking needs.

Amazing Stay

We truly loved Stephen and Elena’s place! The view is amazing, such a relaxing place. If you stay here, you need to take at a least a few minutes to go outside at night and enjoy the sky! You will love it!

Tranquility

Excellent! If you want quiet and alone time with your spouse it's a great few day getaway. Glamping in style. No service for a few miles. Recommend bringing a radio with batteries. We will definitely go back.

About the host

Hosted by Stephen Pellicano

Host profile image
Hi. We're married couple Stephen from New York and Elena originally from Ukraine.

I began hosting guests in my New York home back in 2009. My first guests were two students from the Czech Republic who stayed one week. In 2010 I hosted 5 international students from Turkey. They were hosted for 3 months because they came to the America for a Work And Travel program and enjoyed working full time at the Zoom Flume water park.

Elena and I married in 2013 and had a child soon after. So our days renting our home was near the end. However, starting in 2019 we started building glamping cabins on our 4 acre property and when the pandemic hit in 2020 we were ready to offer guests the chance to get out of the city.

Why they chose this property

I truly believe the grounds of my property have a positive vibe that people can sense. It’s very welcoming, as through the trees are saying, ‘Hello, guest. Breathe in our fresh air, relax, and have a splendid time.’

Being at such a high elevation, 1600 feet to be exact, offers spectacular mountain views. Speaking of spectacular, all one has to do is look up. At the end of the day experience a Picasso color filled sunset sky of purples, pinks, oranges and turquoise swirls. After dark, look up again and gasp in awe at how clearly you'll see the stars and Milky Way. No light pollution here and this particular area offers the cleanest air compared to anywhere else in New York State and the entire North East as shown by website windy.com.
