We had the most awesome trip. My husband and I stayed for two nights and just soaked up the beauty and tranquility the property offers. The home was so clean, cozy, comfortable and stocked with everything we could ask for. We had the most amazing bear experience with a mama and her two cubs digging up an underground beehive just in front of the back porch. That just made our whole trip. And we had the opportunity to meet Jack who was just so nice and helpful! We can't wait to visit the property again and would definitely recommend to our friends and family.

We’ve been visiting Mountain Laurel Lookout yearly with our best friends family since our kids were elementary age. Now we have middle and high schoolers and the cabin remains perfect for our families and our cabin trips remain everyone’s favorite! The game room is amazing, the house is spacious even with two families, and the views are unbeatable!! Thanks for another great stay at your amazing cabin, Jack and Candace!

Fantastic Stay

Absolutely incredible views. Pictures don’t do it justice. Cabin was clean, well furnished and our kids really enjoyed all of the board games and the downstairs game room was a hit. Drive in and out of town (Old Fort/Black Mountain) was around 20/30 minutes, but didn’t bother us at all given all of the beautiful scenery and wildlife along the way. Owners were great hosts and we highly recommend

House in the mountains

We stayed here for a few days and the house was perfect. The view is unparalleled. During our trip we experienced all types of weather and the house and area were perfect for both indoor and outdoor activities. No complaints and we would recommend for anyone looking to get away.

Wonderful getaway with family

Had a wonderful getaway with family. The teens loved the game room downstairs and that they had their own space. The rest of the house was wonderful. Loved the decor and mountain views. Everything was in perfect working order, very functional kitchen including pots and pans.

Awesome Cabin

Loved our stay at this cabin. Kids loved the downstairs game room. And you just can’t fathom how breathtaking the views are until you’re standing on that deck taking it all in. Tons of waterfall related hikes within 30 minutes. Hosts were more than gracious, can tell they really care about the overall guest experience. Highly recommend.

Amazing View, Stunning Home & all the peace you need

My husband and seven year old son came here for 4 nights. It was heaven. Quiet, peaceful and we relaxed and recharged. We cooked in every night and slept in each day. I could not have asked for a better trip and the house is better than expected. The basement game room ping pong games were most fun!

One-of-a-kind Mountain Top View

We love this cabin so much that this was the third time we have been here with my husband and two boys. We are thrilled to be renting this cabin for the fourth time; this time for the month of July. The view from the deck is spectacular. We spent the entire time enjoying the view and watching the hummingbirds who flocked to our hummingbird feeder. Black mountain is a 30 minute drive away and Asheville is 45 minutes. Our favorite restaurants are Jerusalem Garden Cafe in Asheville and Blue Ridge Biscuit Company in Black Mountain.

Breathtaking Mountaintop Views

Words can't even begin to describe our stay at Mountain Laurel Lookout. We had four adults, two teenagers, a child and a toddler, and at no point over our vacation did we feel cramped or pressed for space! Not only is this property located just a short drive from many exciting day trips, it also has everything you could ever need! From comfortable beds, towels, and linens and a kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need to a game room for the kids and breathtaking mountain views that you have to see to believe, we truly felt like we were on top of the world -- if only for a few days. We would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a stay in the area. We have truly found our home away from home and can't wait to come back to make even more memories!

Beautiful home!

This house exceeded our expectations! The pictures do not do it justice— the view is absolutely beautiful! The home is cozy, comfortable and fully equipped with anything you might need. I don’t usually feel completely at home in a vrbo, but I truly felt like we could relax and unwind while we were there. The drive up the mountain to the house is intense, but just adds to the beauty. It’s very doable and we didn’t have any problems, just a bit shocking for my Florida family who rarely drives up anything more inclined than a bridge or overpass! The drive into Asheville was easy- 35-40 minutes which allowed for day trips or even just heading there for dinner. If you want a lovely house where you can relax, feel at home, enjoy a beautiful NC mountain view, and not worry about needing anything other than the groceries you put in the fridge, this is the place to go!! Thank you for sharing your amazing home with the rest of us!!

Little Piece of Heaven on Earth

My family of 4 spent 8 nights at Mountain Laurel Lookout this May. It was everything the listing described and more. Beautiful cabin, amazing views, and a secluded setting. Just magical! A few things that I would want to know if I were looking at this property: 1. This cabin is in a private gated community, which we liked. It’s a drive back to “civilization.” But TOTALLY worth it. 2. There is only one neighbor in view of this cabin (right next door), but you can’t see it at all from the windows or the deck. No other cabins are close. Mountain Laurel feels super secluded and private. 3. Once you pass the gate, it’s a fairly steep climb to the cabin, with lots of twists and turns. When the owners suggest you arrive during daylight hours, do it! Their directions are great, but daylight will help you navigate the first time! 4. They suggest having a front-wheel or all-wheel drive. We did, however, make it just fine in our little Hyundai Elantra. We DID have to put it in 1st gear driving up the last little bit, where the road was about a 45 degree angle. But we managed just fine. We would NOT attempt it in that car during winter months! 4. The cabin is very well-stocked. We really appreciated having access to spices, trash bags, laundry detergent, etc. Thank you!! 5. We spent A LOT of time on the deck reading, eating, and enjoying the breathtaking views. If you plan to rent this cabin, make sure you give yourself ample time to enjoy the beauty!!! 6. We LOVED the game room! ❤️

We had a fantastic time at this cabin. The views were spectacular. Getting to the cabin was an adventure, but we loved the seclusion of it. Cabin had pretty much everything we needed. The only thing I would suggest is providing little soaps for the showers. My friends that stayed in the upper floor said the shower floor was a little slick, but otherwise everything was great! We highly recommend this cabin. You won’t be disappointed!

Why they chose this property

We chose this mountain location to build our cabin because of so many reasons! It has the amazing views, no highway noise, Verizon works, it doesn't get too much snow and it has easy access to I-40 to Asheville. We, together with our good friends the Morgan's, bought the top of our mountain ridge . We have over 27 acres between us with only our two homes.

What makes this property unique

Panoramic views!
